Daistallia Military Industries, inc. is announcing the start of production for the latest in our series of fine small arms: the Heavy Marksman Rifle.
The HMR is an intermediate step between a battle rifle and heavy anti material rifles. It uses a 12.5 mm short cartridge, for softer recoil, making for less accuracy over longer distances, but producing less stress on the barrel and user. The recoil is similar to a 12-gauge shotgun. It also makes for a weapon that is easier to carry and faster to employ than the full-sized .50 caliber rifle designs, such as The Barrett Light .50 M82A1 rifle employed by the U.S. Army and Marines. Portability and round penetration are the key traits to this weapon. The HMH is capable of penitrating armor that resists 7.62mm fire. Doors, locks, cinder blocks, and heavy equipment are also vulnerable. The reduced range allows for usage in situations where extended range would be undesirable or dangerous, such as urban combat. As the HMR is of compatable length and weight to standard battle rifle designs, it can also be used in close combat and other rapid fire encounters.
