Charles E. Henson [SCV-41] aircraft carrier

http://www.military.cz/usa/navy/uss/carriers/cvnx/cvn-77_1.jpg

The SCV-41 aircraft carrier class, of which an estimated 36 were procured, was designed as Zoogiedom's first domestic aircraft supercarrier. It features several technological advancements over its predecessors - in short, it increases the amount of aircraft, reduces the operating support cost, crew, and radar signature.

A passive jet blast deflector is a departure from prior steam catapults; eliminating a great deal of maintenance while increasing efficiency and power. Small 'islands' on the deck of the vessel reduce the radar signature by virture of its more streamlined shape, and improve flight control and room on the flight decks. The antenna farms are enclosed, the flight deck curved, and aircraft elavators internal - again reducing the radar signature.

Aircraft on the SCV-41 are able to be more efficiently and more quickly serviced with partly automated servicing; these 'pit stops' require much fewer people and are much quicker and much more effective. Hangar bays are a great improvement over the Nimitz, whose hangars tend to be cluttered.

The advanced technologies and avionics on the aircraft carrier cut down on manpower, requiring less people to operate. The modular design makes the ship incredibly flexible and again, cuts on unit cost. An incredibly electronics suite acts gives added safety features and a nice edge in combat, and the automation will make flying combat sorties quicker and more efficient - this carrier, basically, runs like butter.

Rene G. Woodson [SCV-06] light aircraft carrier

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/europe/images/cvf-989575755f-s.jpg

The Rene Woodson-class light aircraft carrier is a light aircraft carrier with extensive capabilities, great speed, cost effectiveness, and flexibility. Not only will smaller nations be able to acquire useful aircraft carriers, larger nations will be able to rapidly deploy deadly strike forces in small packages.

A smaller island and advanced electronics and avionics help to reduce detectability, while its streamlined shape, internal elevators, and enclosed antennae reduce both personel and increase stealthiness.

Launch catapults are similar to the passive system used on the Henson-class. Primary armament will be a VLS silo for a missile similar to the British Aster 15; and the Hoplite 20mm mounted CIWS is included.

Douglas Farlow [DD-17] Multi-Purpose Destroyer

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/europe/images/uk-rn-type45-1013787414f-s.jpg

The modern fleet is centered around the aircraft carrier; but aircraft carriers require a supporting escort fleet - in other words, you're going to need destroyers and/or frigates. The Farlow-class is a multipurpose destroyer, the Zoogie Navy's most capable and survivable surface combatant. The Farlow destroyer is able to effectively defend from aircraft and cruise missiles, and preform antisubmarine/antisurface and strike operations.

The Farlow uses its streamlined shape to reduce its radar signature and susceptibility to enemy strikes against it.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/europe/images/uk-rn-type45-1014036343f-s.jpg

Its advanced phased array radar and AEGIS weapons system provides it with unparalleled tracking and detection systems; and is difficult to affect with electronic countermeasures. AEGIS is a revolutionary system: conventional rotating radar finds its target when the radar beam strikes it on its 360-degree rotation; and a tracking radar is required to actually engage a target. AEGIS brings them together, and doesn't rotate - all targets on radar are able to be 'seen' simultaneously and engaged in the same breath.

Primary armament is in its multi-warfare Wc-62 vertical launch system. Tomahawk cruise missiles, Harpoon anti-ship surface skimmer missiles, surface-to-air missiles, and others are all able to be deployed from the Wc-62 VLS. Along with the Wc-74 gun weapon system, a 5" gun can be used to support forces on the shore, attack ships, and engage air threats at point blank rage (a role also done by the Hoplite CIWS).

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/europe/images/TYPE-45B_d-s.jpg

The Farlow is able to carrier the SH-60 helicopter, an asset that furthers its anti-surface/anti-submarine warfare capabilities greatly.

Aidan Thompson-class AEGIS guided missile cruiser CG-17

http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~gte985m/bryce/bryce-cruiser.jpg

The Thompson-class guided missile cruiser is a heavy multirole surface combatant, primarily armed by the Wc-62 Vertical Launch System. Incredibly capable of long and sustained operations, these take on a variety of support, escort, defense, and strike roles.

Using the capable VLS system for deployming missiles, the Thompson has nearly unparalleled land attack capabilities, air defense, and anti-surface/submarine capabilities. A single Thompson cruiser is able to act as a missile defense, or strengthen considerably a fleet's firepower.

http://www.maficstudios.com/gallery/stills/ticonderoga.jpg

Unrivalled avionics as seen earlier in the Farlow-class, and increased computer-automated systems cut down on operating cost and crew. New materials and subtly streamlined shape *which the images fail to show* decrease the ability of missiles to track the ship and further decrease the unit cost.

The primary armament, as aforementioned, are two VLS systems, totalling 136 VLS cells. Quad-canister (four!) Harpoon missile launchers are also retained; as well as two torpedo tubes. The 5" gun mounts found on the farlow are again present here, and the Wc 19 MOD CIWS mounts and Wc 24 MOD super rabid-bloomming off-board chaff system are used for defense as well. Two 50-caliber machine guns round off the capable list of armaments.

Anthon Genevscort-class Multi-Purpose Frigate [FV-17]

http://www.naval-technology.com/contractor_images/caterpillar/Type23.jpg

At first designed for anti-surface/-submarine warfare, the Anthon Genevscort frigate evolved into one of the most versatile surface combatants able to escort small task forces or patrol rough seas...also effective for embargo operations and surveillance, the Genevscort is a very cost-effective and capable platform.

The frigate is similar in many aspects, particularly in role, to the destroyer; however, its smaller size enables it tighter turn radii and greater speeds. The Genevscort-class is unique in that it is fitted with the AEGIS system.

Various other electronical systems help cut down on crew, while a more streamlined hull enables both greater speeds and less radar signature.

F-14E Tomcat air dominance fighter

http://home.ripway.com/2004-1/54396/f14e.jpg

The F-14E Tomcat was Zoogie Aerospace Eval/Upgrade Program's pride and joy - a large, problem-plagued and obsolete fighter had been turned into an all purpose carrier group defense and air dominance fighter. Think the F-14 isn't a viable addition to your fleet? Think again.

http://www.f4hq.com/files/screens/tn/ff3.jpg

The supersonic, twin-seat fighter features variable geometry - also known as swing wings. At low speeds, the wings are extended for maximum lift and low speed manueverability. At high speeds, they are swept back, providing a more streamlined shape and enabling the aircraft to acheive higher speeds.

http://www.avsim.com/pages/1299/flanker2/f14tmb.jpg

The first concern was the F-14's downfall - no aircraft is worth its own without superior avionics, but the F-14 didn't even have half-working engines! (Well, they worked, but their performance was abysmal.) Esmier was contracted for the engines, and the new, more fuel efficient and powerful engines, not only increased speed, range, and fuel efficiency, but also added thrust vectoring and supercruise capabilities. It's quite astounding how much more capable an aircraft can be with better engines.

http://www.f4hq.com/files/screens/tn/ff5.jpg

The F-14's avonics were already advanced and powerful when we first met it - heck, slightly downgraded US-export Iranian F-14 model A aircraft were deemed too precious to use in combat - they were being used as AWACs! But even the powerful pulse doppler radar can be improved upon...

http://www.f4hq.com/files/screens/tn/ff2.jpg

The HLC-39 all-aspect, all-weather, lookdown/shootdown milimeter wave multimode active radar has an incredible active range of some 200nm; and allows the F-14 to simultaenously track a total of 32 targets....with ground mapping capability at the same time. Milimeter pulse radar makes the aircraft hard to detect, even when its active radar is switched on. Powerful infrared seekers, GPS, passive laser, and passive radar/RWR will allow for better tracking and ground target designation as well, including SAM's and AAA.

Superior HLC-47E electronic countermeasures successfully jams or distorts even powerful enemy radar and other tracking systems, and has full control over chaff and flare, making the F-14 survivability sstaggeringly improved. Rumour has it tat a midlife upgrade, termed 'Mark I,' has added the Taurus active ECM that sends out signals that cancel incoming radar signals.

http://avanimation.avsupport.com/gif/F-14h.gif

Not only is the F-14E the premier naval air defence fighter, but it is also able to go well beyond an F-18C's range and knock out land targets with precision bombs or eliminate ship threats with AGM-84E 'SLAM-ER' missiles.

Airframe has been modified to make it more streamlined and efficient, including a higher raised and more defined canopy, more effective vertical stabilizers, and more effective implemention of swing-wing design. Don't mind the pictures. It has also been enlargened somewhat, with added fuel.

Work in progress. Submarines, aircraft, et cetera, due to become available ASAP...

OOC: Comments are appreciated so that I may improve these; but please don't flame me for taking real life stuff that's not even obscure and simply copying it. This is my 'current' navy, and by current I mean in the process of being phased out.

Just to keep you guys happy, I've included a sneak preview of some elements or possible elements of my new, fancy-shmancy navy. Bear in mind that this preview is OOC.

So, in no particular order, a 56k's nightmare.
