Today now President, and no longer PM of Droondrala, Roger Johnoldson gave a speech to what is now the National Democratic Congress.

"My dear Comrades, my dear people, for too long have we remained a symbol of old Colonial times! It is time now to make ourselves a Republic. This is why I hereby found The Democratic Republic of Droondrala!."

you aint much of a republic when you're posting about building up a huge military, nOOb.

ooc: technically speaking, a republic is defined not by its pursuit or non-pursuit of an armed forces. A republic is merely a state governed by offcials chosen by their constituents. This doesn't mean that Droondrala could not become a dictatorship or any other form of government. For example, a republic can turn into a dictatorship, that was the course taken by Nazi Germany when the people elected the Nazi party that subsequently took control of the government. The real test of whether this state is a republic would be whether or not elections are held to determine a new government.

if you want to try and fight against tanks that are almost bulletproof (ditto against shells, etc), bombers that can take multiple SAM hits to their engine blocks, and people who are immune to mind control due to special interference helmets, you won't be having a nice day.
