The Ministry of Defense would like to announce the construction of "Grand Duke One".

His Royal Highness, Grand Duke Reginald Leopold I, requested the construction of an airplane that would reflect the power and prestige of the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire.

Based upon a modified AN-225 design, Grand Duke One is a truly massive plane. While the actually specifications remain classified, the Ministry of Defense is ready to release the following information:

Maximum Ceiling: over 40,000 feet
Flight range: over 9,000 miles
In flight refueling range: unlimited
Combined thrust of all 6 engines: 720,000 lbs
Maximum Speed: appox. 600 mph
Passengers: 200
Crew: 6
Electronics: Classified
Armor protection: classified
Cabin Area: approx. 10,000 square feet
Communications: classified
Maximum take-off weight: approx 1.3 million lbs
Counter-measures: classified

Grand Duke One will provide His Royal Highness with constant and secure communication to the Government and Armed Forces of the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire. It will also transport His Royal Highness and His guests in ultimate luxury. From marble to plantinum trim, no cost is being spared to make Grand Duke One a flying Palace. Although the plane will not feature external windows, external cameras and state of the art plasma screens will provide passengers with panoramic views of the sky while in flight.

The Ministry expects construction to be finished very soon with a possible maiden flight to which certain world leaders may be invited to fly on Grand Duke One

The Ministry of Defense is proud to announce the launch of Grand Duke One

Based upon an advanced AN-225 design, Grand Duke One is the last and ultimate word in Head of State transport.

Grand Duke One will provide His Royal Highness with constant and secure communication to the Government and Armed Forces of the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire. It will also transport His Royal Highness and his guests in ultimate luxury. From marble founatins to plantinum trim, no cost is being spared to make Grand Duke One a flying Palace. Rich leather, fine wood from ancient trees, and the rarest and most dazzling stones make Grand Duke One more luxurious that most mansions.

Although the plane will not feature external windows, external cameras and state of the art plasma screens will provide passengers with panoramic views of the sky while in flight.

While the actual specifications remain classified, the Ministry of Defense is ready to release the following information:

Combined thrust of all 8 engines: 960,000 lbs
Maximum Speed: appox. 650 mph

Grand Duke One is also set apart from other planes because of its unique airframe. Instead of aluminum it is made entirely out of titanium. Instead of glass or plastic for the cockpit windows and for interior decoration, transparent armor is used.

Included in the 200+ passengers is His Royal Highness personal Palace Guard unit- The Omega Guard. 100 of the best trained, most seasoned, and most loyal soldiers in entire Royal Armed Forces. The onboard weapons lockers contain enough firepower to take over a small country.

Grand Duke One also incorporates all of the finest and most advanced technologies available to the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire. Among the most notable:

PAAPR system
Phoenixius Advanced All Points Radar system- This radar system cycles its frequency 150 times a second. This reduces the distortion caused by radar jammers by a significant amount. This also means that various stealth devices are reduced in effectiveness against detection. This combines air, and surface search radar, along with fire control systems built in.

Archangel 3rd Generation Stealth System
This system involves several seperate sections. The first is the use of super absorbant radar paint, which cuts the radar waves by over half. The next uses probes on the planes surface to detect the frequency of the radar waves. This information is then sent to a powerful computer in the plane. This then works out the location of the radar emitter and the radar wave that is in anti-phase to the original radar wave. This is then sent back to the emitter. However, where this differs from the Athena system, is that the system detects radar waves 300-400 times a second, and then sending the appropiate radar wave back, negating frequency-cycling radar. In addition, if the vehicles own radar system detects anything that would reflect radar waves within a certain distance, the computer calculates and then transmits the requisite radar wave, negating the ability to detect the plane through a radar 'empty space' where there should be some return.

PDCM
Phoenixius Defensive Counter-Measures- This is for any vehicle that requires electronic counter-measures. The PDCM is designed to either be launched or jettisoned by the vehicle using it to prevent incoming missiles from hitting it. The PDCM itself is made up of small, angular devices that reflect radar extremely easily. Incorporated into the device is an IR emitter, and a GPS scrambler.

In addition, Grand Duke One is hardened against almost all forms of EMP. It is also capable of protecting it's passengers against the radiation of a nuclear attack, (exact details are classified).

Grand Duke One will allow His Royal Highness to stay in touch and in command of the Royal Armed Forces no matter the crisis.

It would not be a maiden flight without our closest of friends, President Alan Ryo Takashi, onboard. Grand Duke Reginald Leopold I looks forward to his first face-to-face meeting with President Takashi.

Prince Ivanov of Chardonay would love to come for it's maiden flight, as long as he is permitted to bring his security detail.

To the Grand Duke of Hamptonshire, I feel we could use this oppurtunity to mend a closer relationship with each other and debate the growing crisis in our region. With this a new stronger relationship shall be born between you and our new sovereign nation as we use this oppurtunity to meet both you and the leader of DRTP and to rebuild what was lost in the Pacifican War and build towards a stronger peace.

To Neo Pacifica:

You are welcome to come on the maiden flight, it will be chance to rebuild what was almost lost in the Pacifican War. The Grand Duke looks forward to meeting you.

To Chardonay:

We would welcome Prince Ivanov, however we will not allow him to bring along his security detail. The only people allowed to carry any form of weaponry are the Omega Guards. If you are concerned about flight security, we will inform you that they entire route of the flight will be within the airspace of the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire. The detail may accompany the Prince to and from Grand Duke One but they will not be allowed to board it.
We are sorry is this unacceptable, but I think you can understand the security that a man such as Grand Duke Reginald Leopold I must be surrounded by.

President Takashi, as well as all leaders to fly aboard Grand Duke One, will arrive at Prince Elector Fredrick IV Airforce Base 15 miles northwest of Hamptonshire City.

While Grand Duke One is in flight, it will at all times be escorted by the 23rd Air Defense Squadron, 331st Recon Squadron, and 106th Refueling Wing. We will not release the flight path, but it will fly for 4 hours over the moutains and valleys of Central and Eastern Hamptonshire.

1 x JSTARS Surveillance and Target Tracking Plane

When leaders arrive from their respective countries will will provide an fighter escort of 4 x F-35s once you get within 500 miles of Hamptonshire.

We are sorry, but we cannot allow you to have two unarmed guards while in flight. It is a policy of the Royal Palace Guards to not allow any foreign security guards into Grand Duke One. It is for both security and secrecy reasons.

While Chardonayan Royal Securety and the Ministry of Justice flat out refuce to allow Prince Ivanov to enter a forign airplane filled with armed foreigners, THey are willing to send a proxy, Minister of Trade Arkady Pridubla. Trhis is not an insult you understand, but you must see that if you will not let a small securety detail near your leader, we cannot allow a large one near ours.

[code:1:70d7de05ea]We must protest, all we ask is some insurance for the President as he boards a foreign (yet friendly aircraft) we would feel more comfortable if he would be allowed to let his own nationals into the plane and have at least a man who again will not be armed. His main role will be to assist the President who in reality is beginning to grow beyond his years and to allow him a sense of security with his fellow countryman. This guard will not be armed and will submit to your orders if warranted, we will also submit to full supervision at all times. We don't believe it is so unreasonable to have a single guard in order to safeguard and insure nothing goes wrong for the President during this flight.
