As the artillery quieted and the planes returned from another round of bombing, Ricardo looked up from his map to think. If they could disable roads along the western border of Allanea, it would certainly help in the war effort.

"All right, I want the troops ready to move within the day. Conduct one final round of bombing with all our planes, and keep that shelling up. We want to face as few Allaneans on this front as we can."

Within less than an hour, the planes were moving in the air over Allanea again, and the boom of the howitzers muted all talk for the soldiers who climbed into their vehicles, getting ready to move out. Most had yet to engage a real enemy, and no amount of training could make up for that.

Off the coast, the Mintarian navy begins to attack the Allaneans mercilessly. Shell after shell and missile after missile glides through the air and disrupting the peaceful day.

The stage was set... the first real test of Mintar's ground forces was just ahead...

Artillery (800 pieces) has launched shells too and the navy (~40 ships within range) is attacking as well. After the planes return, the rest of the army is marching through to attack Allanean positions, so I guess I will need details on what troops Allanea has near that border; thanks.

OOC: Mintar, you are aware of the fact that Goobergunchia quit the UNAPS and banned all UNAPS forces from passing through his land?

(OOC: Yes. These forces are moving in to Allanea instead. I know that there is sort of a time gap, but that is largely due to OOC reasons. Sorry I didn't make that clear in my first post.)

IC: "OK, people, listen up! We lost 1,000 troops from this attack, and I recommend we proceed with caution. I recommen we send out every fighter aircraft we have - that's about 1,300 Coulter Mark II craft and 500 SU-34's - to engage the enemy. Further use thouse AA missiles to shoot down anything we can. As for the other enemies - draw them into Allanea. Bleed them out, slowly. Remember we are at a five-to-one advantage.

"Sir, we've got planes incoming. It looks like quite a few of them, too; nearly as many as our total force."

"It seems as if we may be forced to use the anti-air capabilities of our F-117's if we want to hold out. Halt the army while we deal with the fighters; get the artillery shelling again, and make sure those DTS missiles work. Get our Hellions up in the air, too. We can't afford to lose air superiority."

"Yes sir."

"Oh, and tell Yoltz to get his ships firing. We need all the help we can get over here..."

As the Hellions flew overhead, Ricardo did not stop to look. This situation was serious, and he could not afford to sit back and enjoy the show...

Recap:

In the air are 1,000 Hellions and around 300 F-117x's. They fire 2 AA missiles each for a total of 2,600. The DTS-2 missile systems fire 300 missiles, and the navy fires around 500 from the ships within range. Total = 3,400.

The artillery (800) aims for airbases and the SAM missile systems.

(OOC: I'm not exactly sure how much stuff is being fired at me, so if you could give me a recap of exactly how much stuff is coming at me, I'd be much obliged.)

Mintar:

Silently, from airbases across Mintar, another 750 Hellions jumped in the air, and headed toward Scandanavian States. They would not reach the battle in time, but there would definitely be no lack of space in the air bases once they arrived...

OOC: The forces coming at you:

Each Anne Coulter MK II plane has 25 hardpoints (and very powerful engines). All of them are used for AA missiles. At this stage of combat, we launch 10 missiles per AC-2 and 2 per each SU-34. Further, the 500 Buk-1 M missile system fire 2 missiles each Total = 15,000 missiles.

Our losses from your attacks consist of 300 Coulter MK II's and all SU-34 craft. Further, 5,000 troops die at our airfields.

OOC: My forces are also in the area, and have been since before Goobergunchia's withdrawal from the alliance.
