New element discovered in GREAT KALADOR
Scientists in the metropolis of Kalakan, capital of the ancient empire of Great Kalador have made a startling discovery in their secret laboratories.
The nation of Kalador was once a large dominant empire, but due to the rise of democracy and the collapse of it's monarchy, the Empire is but a fraction of it's former self. Despite this decline, the science community has successfully produced the first few atoms of an element codenamed 'ICE 9'.
ICE 9 is unique in its bizarre ability to cause the solidifying of any water molecules which it touches, hence the name. Certain lobbyists have pointed out the suspicion that all water molecules are interconnected, and so this could be a highly dangerous substance. It is currently under high security in the capital, but will soon be moved to hidden labs to ensure safety.
Our request is that any nations interested in this discovery contact the nation of GREAT KALADOR and intelligence will be passed on. We are interested in only the financial benefits of this technology, and so pose no threat to anyone.
Thank you for the attention,
Governor M. Maddox

THe scientists of the United Di'Agwan Empire are glad to hear of a fellow nation make another move in the science community, though it is often overlooked by most of the world.
In order to help scientists here study this element, we would like a small sample of the element. Also, was the element brocken down from another element, or is it synthetic?
:BREAKING NEWS:
Scientists in Great Kalador who announced the discovery of ICE 9 are being blamed for the sudden overnight freeze of a sealed University research department close to New Sparta City, Great Kalador.
The contamination seems to have been contained, but officials have pleaded for aid from local countries. It is unsure exactly what action can be taken at this early stage, but speculation says that any contact with the element will lead to freezing on an international scale.
It has been speculated that terrorists or so-called-preservationists are to blame, with the transport of the element to a secure facility elsewhere scheduled for three days time.

GREAT KALADOR is eternally grateful for this security detachement. We now appeal for high-technology help to cope with the disaster.
We are also a new nation, lie yourself, may we acquire some of this 'ice9' to research? Any results will come straight back to you.

OOC Why don't you just use a load of flamethrowers to melt the ice?

While we are not prone to interfere in the blunders of other nations... This blunder has the potential for becoming something quite grevious to everyone if it gets in the wrong hands... (I.e. the freezing of oceans...)
The Marines are en route to help in the securing of the University, once there, they are under the complete control of the Great Kaladorian commanders.
There they will remain until the situation has been dealt with, and those responsible for the terrorist act are apprehended, or until it has been confirmed the accident was just that, an accident.

OOC Yup....

Spies from somewhere unknown, possibly from Greedy Pig infiltrates Great Kalador research laboratories in search of the mystery ICE 9 Element. But are stopped dead frozen on their tracks as the spies freeze to death upon opening a specimen jar of some ICE 9.
It appears the Spies were sweating rather heavily due to the unbereable heat to contain the ICE 9.
Greedy Pig's Deny any involvement.
Incidentally, this was a instant response, but we are reliably informed that any breach in the 100% carbon seal would allow any air moisture to come in contact with the element and hence the skies would freeze. Althought water in the air does not actually touch, it does have an effect upon others, ie, if one molecule froze to negative 10,000 degrees, others would also due to radiant heat [or lack thereof].
Any other suggestions will be welcome.
As for the spies, we are far from a position to retaliate, but urge other countries to act on our behalf.
M.Maddox,
GREAT KALADOR general council
One remaining sample of ICE 9 must be immediately removed from our crippled nation and placed safely and responsibly in an ally's.
Any volunteers are welcome.
G. K. General Council
Situation resolved. Thank you for your help.
