OOC: All of the following nations that are involved have either given full permission to be used or are alternate countries of mine (and none are UN Delegates, of course).
The Disputed Territories of Kalandia
The Theocracy of Shoshikai
The Incorporated States of Widgits Inc
The Oppressed Peoples of Dandadar
The Dominion of Alstarti IX

For the first time in Kalandian history all thirty-two of the Regional Parliaments were present in the capital city of Doa't-hei. All four hundred and eighty-six men and women, along with the eight Prime Ministers, Dignified Executive Authority, and Dignified Executive Authorotative Dog were hastily stationed the in the Hall of Congress. Silence pervaded the room as the Chief Executive Representative of the Fourteenth Regional Parliament, Nathaniel Danidar, took his place at the podium to address the assembly. He was a short man and his black hair barely cleared the top of the platform. A nearby Representative slid a plastic crate to the flustered speaker and allowed him to grow another nine inches.
Nathaniel Danidar: "I assume that you none of you know why you have been called to this meeting in such haste. Well, the central government has made a greivous error. I have been involved in the negotions for a number of secret alliances with other growing nations, most notably, The Incorporated States of Widgits Incorporated is an economically powerful nation that lies but miles away from our eastern border. Due to our high tariffs on foreign trade any kind of alliance with our neighbor would never be approved. Therefore, the limitations on one Kalandian company, Dalespot Pizza Co., were relaxed, and the company was permitted to secretly trade with the corporations of Widgits Inc. Our divided government had no problem turning a blind eye and would only occasionally request for certain projects or currency units from Widgits Inc. to be exhcanged into good old Kalandian rock dust. The last project that we have request of the Dalespot Pizza Co. was a new defense initiative, though we left all the details up to the corporation. They created the secret project, UJH-3, a Stealth Bomber untraceable by conventional radar, and that carries a large enough payload to level a city or raze a countryside. Untrusting of such an offensive weapon, we ordered the production to halt, only to find out a year later that Dalespot Pizza Co. had ignored our command and finished the design. We had seized the only prototype and were bringing it to Doa't-hei in order for it be locked away, but it was intercepted along the way."
The Regional Executive Represntative waddled over to a slide projector as another aide pulled down a white screen on the other side of the room. Instantly, the image of a burning corn field was cast upon the wall.
"The eastern farming community of Jintakhou-ooehstay was annihilated shortly afterwards. That area was a leading consumer of Dalespot Pizza and the loss for the company is in the millions. Secrets have been leaked to the outside and another power has stolen UJH-3. Our other secret ally, the The Dominion of Alstarti IX, has taken photographs from its orbit above Kalandia. The stealth bomber was seen heading south of Widgits Inc., then disappeared from sight and radar. We suspect that it landed in Shoshikai, a nation known for its corrupt religious leadership, powerful economy, and partly indoctrinated peoples."
The Dignified Executive Authority, Kelvin Manthar, another man with a decently paying figureheard position stood up. "Well what do you propose that we do about it?"
Danidar walked towards the taller man and staring straight upwards, just getting in line with his eyes. "Kalandia must enter Shoshikai and apprhend the perpetrators of this heinous action. We have the support of Widgits Inc., the surveillance abilities of Alstarti IX, and the nation separating us from Shoshikai, Dandadar, has agreed to allow us passage through it."
DEA Marthar stood upright indignantly. "And who do you propose that we send? Our small army?"
Danidar: "Of course not, that would be an international incident. We don't want to cause a war that we'd lose... badly. No, what we need is subterfuge."
DEA Marthar: "Another of these secret projects?"
Danidar: "We don't have the funding for anything like that - we have a volunteer spying division."
DEA Marther: "Oh good grief!"
Danidar: "It's the best that we've got. That prototype stealth bomber can be recharged for another invisible flight in fourteen hours. By that time, I fear that our capital may not have a future any longer. Therefore, we shall dispatch the new Angry Squadron immediatly."
DEA Marther: "Angry Squadron...?"
Danidar: "This is what you get for not allocating any money to the military."

Angry Squadron, the first volunteer elite espionage group in known history, hastily made its way across the Kalandian border and into Dandadar territory. There were four members in total, three men and a woman. Each came from Kalandia's capital, and each had no idea that they were super-secret-agents until thirteen hours prior. There were no weapons specialists, no bomb dismantlers, not even a master with knives. Just four people determined to get their mission done, along with the help of the Widgits Inc. army. The jeep slowed to a halt and the four departed, making the rest of the journey across the Dandadain-Shoshik border, donning tunics of the restricted nation. Loudspeakers spouting propoganda echoed in the distance and the sounds of motorists detouring around the inner city became increasingly loud.
The only female member of the group, Jane Howsten, shook her long red hair and looked straight ahead and wiped the dirt from her fair skin. "We're getting closer to Shoshikai Palace. If that plane's going to be anywhere, it's got to be in the capitol.
A tall, bald, dark skinned man looked back at her. "We have no assurance that the plane was stolen by the government. These are oppressed, indoctrinated people, it could be an isolated faction.
Another tall man, this one with tanned skin, continued his walk but replied. "Yes, David. But Mr. Pohken, what other options do we have?"
David Pohken: "None, Allen Schwartz. We've just go to find that plane, somehow."
The fourth member of the group, Sadante Oriyo, zipped up his black full-body outfit and continued walking in silence. Despite his lack of official training, he was still regarded as experienced in espionage. He removed his utility belt and hid it under his tunic, along with his Precision-9, the standard handgun for all members of the small Kalandian National Defense Force, which Angry Squadron contained four members of.
Jane Howsten: "If you're still a bit unsure, David, look ahead."
The streets of Shoshikai Palace were mobbed with uniformed militamen wearing balaclavas and armed with the infamous semi-automatic Haklavsky-X2, a machine gun that could also fire single explosive shells from a rifled barrel atop its main gun.
David Pohken: "Those aren't standard military issue, as far as I know. Those are terrorist weapons."
Sadante Oriyo continued standing still and sheathed the knives on his belt, removing a taser. "We'll have to get through the crowd."
Allen Schwartz: "Take four of them out and gra their weapons." He took a pair of binoculars and peered into an open window. "There! Five soldiers and a keg of alcohol... isn't that forbidden in Shoshikai?"
David Pohken: "And aren't all people not impressed into military service banned from owning firearms, especially while marching to the capital?"
Jane Howsten: "A revolution? What a time to steal the plane!"
Allen Schwartz: "But why steal our plane for their battle?"
Sadante Oriyo: "They wouldn't. That was a top-secret project, even for Kalandia. And they bombed one of our cities afterward, providing no ultimatum. They want something else."
The four quieted down as they heard a plane from directly overhead, seeming to appear from out of nowhere. It dropped a pair of missiles that flew down into the streets, detonating in the middle of the crowd. A cloud of dust covered the streets, rendering everything invisible.
Sadante: "Now!" The four shielded their eyes with goggles and ran into the nearby building where the soldiers were coughing violently and stopped drinking. Within seconds all five were convulsing on the floor, passing out shortly afterwards. Sadante returned his taser to his sack and the four donned the terrorist uniforms, equipping their Haklavsky-X2's, as well.
Allen: "We'll only have a small window while the crowd is stunned and before that plane can fire again. Move!"
The four ran outside and charged through the crowd, faceless people amidst a sea of dust. Allen burst through the cloud on the other side first and found himself at the entrance to the Royal Palace itself. Unable to contact the others, he pulled out a rope and waiting for the cloud to spread itself over him and cover his entrance.

DEA Marther: "It has been more than a week since Angry Squadron has infiltrated Shoshikai's capital city. Danidar, you cannot deny that Angry Squadron has failed to retrieve UJH-3. The Stealth Bomber has been sighting flying low over Kalandian territory and has since bombed a major population center - the East Kalandian city of Taharomé. We cannot conceal the damage nor can we deny knowledge of our ties to it. Three major regional representatives have already resigned and taken stand against the government. If we don't do something soon, we'll have a civil war on our hands. The only solution is to appeal to the world community for assistance. Shoshikai is clearly our enemy in this case, no matter what your 'Angry Squadron' has said. If you won't do it, then I will."
Danidar: "And then what? The international community flies over to our little strip of the Pacific and bombs our enemy? If we ask for help now then we will be seen as having weakness. Our people and our allies will lose faith in us. We must keep this issue entirely secret!"
DEA Marther: "Nonsense! If we had a large standing army we could have dealt with it, but you send in VOLUNTEERS! Volunteer spies in a volunteer counterterrorism unit!"
Danidar: "They were the best that this 'army' of yours had to offer, Mr. Dignified Executive Authority!"
DEA Marther: "Your 'opinion' doesn't matter to me any longer. The world will hear our cry and come to our aid. Eighty-seven people died in yesterday's bombing and more are to come. Our national security is my highest priority!"
Danidar: "You're just a figurehead, Marther..."
DEA Marther: "No longer! Kalandia needs a strong leader to bring it into the future, not a decentrilized parliamentary system with no efficiency! From this day forth, I declare myself President of Kalandia!"
Danidar: "The people will never listen to you."
DEA Marther: "The representatives of the people have already voted. Even if you, as a Regional Delegate, had voted your entire region against me, I would have only lost by one vote."
Danidar: "A unanimous decision?"
DEA Marther: "That is correct, you may now call me Kelvin Marther, President of the great nation of Kalandia."
Danidar: "Well then, 'president,' do as you will."
Danidar walked out of the Conference Hall and emptied out his office, noticing the Notice of Resignation already filled out and awaiting his signature.
Danidar: "Quit? Hah!"
----
The television cameras flashed on as President Kelvin Marther's face was displayed on the Worldwide News Network. He had spent the last half hour getting himself made up and rehearsing his speech, an impassioned plea for assistance to Kalandia.
"Citizens of the world! I come to you on bended knee and implore your governments for aid! Our nation of Kalandia, containing over one million persons, is under attack from a nearby nation. There was no provocation, no declaration of war, and no diplomatic conversation. Kalandia has been a peaceful nation since its inception and has remained as such. We have but a small national army used primarily as a police force - we are entirely unprepared for such a conflict. They have not yet deployed troops or even made demands, but have instead relied upon terrorist attacks upon our cities - already more than a hundred have died at their hands. Will you stand idly by and allow this fundamentalist, wealth-craving aggressor to murder hundreds of people to further its own sick, twisted ends? I beg you, aid our nation in its time of need!"
The cameraman flashed his hand and Marther relaxed.
Marther: "Well, I'm glad that's over. So, anyone want some lunch?"
The cameraman motioned quickly and the light on his camera turned off. He didn't have the heart to tell the president that he had just scratched himself on the air.

OOC: Just noticed and did the best that I could to fix those numerous extra-posts. Sorry about those, my comp sort of froze up when submitting the post.
Hours later, Danidar proudly returned to the Conference Room. Marther grinned and looked at him. "What? Need help resigning?"
Danidar: "Very funny, Marther. Actually, I'm here on other matters of business, not as a Regional Delegate. I'm here as loyal patrior to Kalandia, a traitor to you?"
Mather: "What now, short man? Going to bite my leg?"
Danidar: "Actually, we've already taken your leg. We're heading for your heart right now."
Marther: "'We?' What are you talking about, you deluded fool?"
Danidar: "You are the deluded one - you thought that you could wrest control of this nation and use it to further your own ends. A nation's plight, that must certainly sound good to the superpowers out there. Get their support, use them to amass power for yourself. You said that the nation was on the verge of a civil war; you were right."
The new Chief Executive Defense Officer ran up to Preisdent Marther, gasping for breath after running all the way from the recently made Justice Department.
CEDO Aaron Arkhov: "Sir, the Southern Territories have staged an open coup!"
Marther: "What?! Why was I not informed?"
Arkhov: "It was a unanamous decision, there was no one to inform you."
Danidar: "The people aren't as stupid as you think. There are twenty-thousand alone marching here from the South, thirty thousand from the other territorities. The army, police, fire department - all are composed of volunteers, and the people don't want to see their nation be ruined by a single man's dictatorial goals."
Marther: "Dictatorship? I meant nothing of the sort-"
Danidar: "Can it, Marther. We cannot retalliate against Shoshikai, Alstarti IX would end its alliance and Shoshikai would turn its massive armies against us. They are undergoing a similar civil war - the government desires money and entirely centralized power. The Stealth Bomber was stolen to be used as a weapon against the government by the People's Popular Front, only it was stolen by a fringe group working as a subsidiary of the government. The Civil Control Department of Shoshikai has chosen to start a war between Kalandia and Shoshikai - if there were a war, not only would Shoshikai be able to control the civil war by conscripting its citizens to 'defend themselves,' but it would also be justified in conquering Kalandia. However, the Chief Spiritual Officers know nothing of this event. Angry Squadron has made contact with us after a week of silence. The central government of Kalandia is in a state of disarray over the multiple revolutions occuring in its own capital. Not even the leader of Kalandia knew that the CCD was starting its own war using our technology."
Marther: "Your Angry Squadron is still alive, then, what would four people do against the entire army?"
Danidar: "David Pohken has covertly entered the ranks of the Shoshikai Elite Military Unit and as a member of SEMU, has infiltrated the CCD's main installation, eighteen miles away from the capital. Jane Howsten has secured the Central Palace area and is interrogating the leader of the CCD, located inside of the palace. Allen Schwartz and Sadane Oriyo have used that information to enter the underground military installation of Civil Control Department. The plane is located in one of the two bases - we will find it."
Marther: "You plan on having them fly that thing out of there? You know as well as I do that the UJH-3 is only a prototype - it lacks its armor and anti-aircraft guns and has never been fully tested. Its cloaking device drains enough energy so that it fails after only a few hours and need five times as long to recharge."
Danidar: "Are you always this optimistic, or are you turning the subject away from you being deposed?"
Marther: "Danidar, you won't succeed. The people will see you fail and they will return to me."
Danidar: "Not with the new military that we've assembled. If this must come to war, we will be ready."
Marther: "Military? What-"
Danidar: "Our allies, Mr. President, the ones that you wanted to screw over. Widgits Incorporated is not willing to give up on its investments that easily. The UJH-3 was to be a springboard for other products and its retrieval is paramount. Besides, their industries need our nation as an outlet for their massive production of goods. They've provided an entire team of Helicopters and a platoon of armored tanks. We break 'em, we buy 'em."
Marther: "You'll drown the nation in debt!"
Danidar: "Not likely, the mere threat of such an attack would pacify Shoshikai, even if it were able and willing to make war. If the possibility of war occurs it may give Shoshikai enough stability to recover its government, knowing that it would no longer have a pushover stadning in its way."
Marther: "Very well, Danidar, it's your show. As the chosen leader of the people I'll allow you to handle this."
Danidar: "Chosen leader my-"

Allen Schwartz and Sadante Oriyo creep through the secret CCD military installation, passing by a number of rooms on the horizontal elevator.
Allen: "Amazing that Shoshikai could wield such technology as a developing nation."
Sadante: "The government has immense subsidies for corporations. It's a fundamentalist nation where the lines between religion and money have blurred. Now stay sharp, the UJH-3 could be anywhere."
-----------------
David Pohken walked in tight formation with his Haklavsky-X2, blending in with all of the other soldiers. He peered upwards for a moment and saw a pair of soldiers in uniform with identical guns, but a Precision-9 stuck out from underneath one of the men's pants.
David: (Allen... so the two installations are linked underground.)
The troop made a detour around a nearby door.
David: (This area is top secret, even my Elite Guard clearance cannot get me through. Have to find a higher card.)

OOC: Best I can do . . . Sorry Kalandia, Weyr can't do anything even if it wasn't involved in its own crisis . . .
------------------------
Consul Erin Ren brought up another console projection, and waited for the contents to load. The 'net repeater placed in the basement of the Weyrean consulate in the Kalandian capital city Doa't-hei was better than nothing, but the lag time was still considerable enough to make the effort seem useless.
"Idiots," the consul muttered, reviewing President Kelvin Marther speech from several days before. People were idiots, and politicians were the worst. She didn't even know who to address as 'president' anymore, not with the mess going on in the upper tiers of the Kalandian government. Some things never made sense -- politics were one of them.
"Ser, com seven, priority one," the 'net crystal crackled.
Erin brought up another console image, waited as the content loaded.
"Uploading content," the screen flashed. Soon, images of the uprising in the Southern territories began to scroll through the console projection. She sighed again.
"Captain Shen to the CO," Erin spoke, touching the crystal. The secretary would make the connection. The 'net worked more or less adequately within he consulate. Outside, consulate staff had to rely on common technology.
-ten minutes later-
'Ser," Earl Shen saluted, stepping into the office.
"What do you make of this," Erin asked, rotating the console projection.
Earl approached, sat down, scanned the images and text.
"Nothing," he stated. "We have investigators in Shoshikai looking into the matter, but you know how it is." he let the words hang. Shoshikai refused to even permit an embassy within their borders; reports of harassment of Weyrean nationals by Shoshikai officials did not help matters.
"Keep me informed then, captain," Erin nodded. "Would increased security at the consulate help matters?" she asked.
'Yes, ser." Earl never trusted these people., not with the recent events. With the 'net so weak this far from home, they could not rely on anything aside from their skills, intelligence, and weapons.

Danidar walked into the hastily made War Room where Widigtopian Ale brand supercomputers seemed strangely out of place. President Marther hovered over the short man's shoulder, trying to see the moniters. Danidar pushed Marther out of the way and gretting the representative of the Widigtopian Ale Corporation, also Aide to the Widigits Inc Prime Minister and a longstanding General.
Danidar: "The troops are in place and have reached Shoshikai's border. We've had a couple of skirmishes with Shoshik rebels but the UJH has not arrived. There are more rebels than we had expected but so far we have no experienced any casualties."
Sarah Corpo, representative of Widgitopian Ale Corporation: "Good, our investments are performing well, of course. After the conflict with Shoshikai I expect that you will turn its vast markets over to my company?"
Danidar: "As we agreed, Ms. Corpo, we must first contact whatever representative government remains when the dust settles. Hopefully we will not need to search for one. But Ms. Corpo, there are more pressing matters at hand. The tanks are holding their line but we are receiving no support from the Shoshik Royal Family. I am suspecting that they were not as powerful as we once thought."
On the moniter one of the glowing green dots suddenly disappears.
Sarah Corpo: "A WAC-3 was destroyed? It must have been the stealth bomber! Dalespot Pizza Co. really did do a number on that thing."
Danidar: "They weren't alone, we assisted in the joint economic venture."
Another moniter sprang to life.
Allen Schwartz: "Kalandia? Come in Kalandia..."
Danidar: "Allen? The Stealth Bomber is attacking the Wigdits Inc troops, where are you?"
Allen: "But that's impossible, Sedeante and I have just located it!"
Danidar: "That means only one thing..."
Sarah Corpo: "The technology has already been reproduced? Just how advanced is Shoshikai Company?"
Danidar: "Nevermind that, is the Stealth Bomber that you found the original?"
Allen: "It's got some bullet markings on the side where it was fired at that one time, so it must be. It still has the Joint Venture marker, as well."
Danidar: "Device 82 was the only defense that we had against the capture, it should still be in there. Commandeer that plane, get it out of there, and use the device."
Allen: "Easier said than done, Danidar. Schwartz out."
Jo E. Nash waited, waited and fumed. "That bastard better'd be here, -soon-" she muttered. Her to companions watched with interest as she paced up and down the room. Danidar had requested 'assistance', and now she was here, in what served for a government building in Kalandia. Leutenant Nash wondered if it was illegal to shoot someone in the kneecaps in this pisspot country . . .
"So you're saying we should be -where-?" Jo's eyes flashed.
"Yes'm," the janitor flinched, "right here." The old man pointed to the back of the letterhead with the request for help. Apparently, someone had scrawled the new address on the back rather than retype the document.
"Fine," Jo nodded. She swept out of the room, her two subordinates hurrying to keep up.
Twenty minutes and over two-dozen broken traffic laws later, the unremarkable jeep with embassy license plates pulled up to the new building where Kalandia's government now resided.
"Lieutenant Jo Nash, Weyr Special Forces. President Danidar; where?" Jo practically breather fire as she slammed the letterhead with Danidar's request for help onto the receptionist's desk. There was a reason she became Lieutenant at twenty -- no one survived her anger.

President Marther stepped out of the doorway and tried to shake the woman's hand.
Marther: "Hello, Ms... er... Ambassador. It seems that you have received the former Executive's message. The situation is... mostly under our control. Our espionage actions appear to have failed, it seems that our only course of action is to declare war upon Shoshikai. Our Widigits allies appear to have defaulted, so we call upon your aid."
"Right . . . aid," Leutenant Nash nodded. "Well . . . I'll tell the ambassador to deploy the expeditionary corps, if we still have one." With that, she pulled out a cellphone and auto-dialed the ambassador's number.
"Yes, ser, you were right. . . . Good. . . . I'll tell him." She put away the cell. "I'm not the ambassador, I'm the Military attache," Nash said, "We can have a mechanized company in here in five days or so. I'll need to know the status of your logistics before anything more can be said."

Newly Appointed Chief of Military Hal Iggins: "There has been a stealth bomber conducting covert attacks for over a month now and many of our western settlements have been damaged. Shoshik forces have been crossed the border of our neighbor, Dandadar, and have lined up along our nation's lines. We have prepared a number of ground troops to fill the lines in after the massive outflux of Widgitopian Corporate Enforcers. So far no skirmishes have broken out, but with the disappearance of the Shoshik Royal Family and the breakout of total chaos crushed by military control, we have good reason to fear four our safety. The border with Dandadar is relatively sparse, a large expanse of badlands with some damaging due to bombing."
Any checkpoints, defensive works, towns?" Nash asked. She would be the advisor to whatever was sent here, and thus had to know what Weyr's forces would be facing. "Threats to the transportation and communication networks?"
Kalandia
15-06-2004, 17:06
Hal Iggins: "Ma'am, those are badlands. Nothing of value there except for our troops. We've got about 10,000 ground troops stationed there with Wigdit-made Dalespot FGC Rifles and combat gear. An additional 400 special forces are in there, along with 200 artillery units, another 200 armed with forward ranged cannons, and we're our First Tank Division has just moved in. We've got a very defensible position there with no surrounding towns that could get in our way. We can see them coming from a mile away and supplies are just two miles to our flank in the town of Alta Vista."
Colonel Iggins (they throw these names around like... something that is thrown around... a lot...) walked over to a map on the wall and pointed out the Shoshik forces.
"They've got at least 20,000 ground troops armed with the cheap Kans 4, a semi-automatic. The more dangerous assortment of their troops is a group of 2,000 special forces armed with the semi-automatic Haklavsky-X2 which can fire explosive shells. Former Executive Danidar suspected that these men were either terrorists or revolutionaries, but they are clearly working with the Civil Control Department, now the modified Shoshik Department of National Defense."
The Kalandia troops covered less than half of the Shoshik territory. "We have not deploayed troops into Danidar because the presence of Shoshik troops essentially means nothing - the nation is in bedlam and the military control is welcome. However, as soon as one of their men sets foot upon our territory, the fighting will break out."
"That doesn't look too bad," Nash commented. "You'll be getting the entire Gray Company -- it's a full mechanized brigade that deploys directly into the combat zone. I'll forward the specs as soon as possible. This is the contact info for our embassy," she took several folded pieces of paper out of her pocket. With that, she left the building.
