A world without the West being discovered would be a very backwards world indeed. No Renaissance or age of exploration would have occured; therefore we'd assume the Middle Ages go on indefinitely. The seeds of Chinese Exploration (they discovered the West, too!) would have to be erased and never come about, setting them back a few hundred years.

In short, we'd have a Monty Python world. Except perhaps no fighting with the Middle East, introducing Roman stuff and bringing about the fall of the Middle Ages...

ture also, but about the world wars, would they even happen and if so, who the hell would win them without America producing 5 tanks a second...sure England held them off for some time but....islands arent exaclty the best place to fight a major war.

Don't assume no ages of advancement would occur. Reasons for the west not being discovered could feasibly be (1) Ships never came about. This would cause a drastic change and almost certainly bring about another means of transportation, opening an unheard of field of science. (2) Superstition in one form or another brought about the curbing of westward expedition. In this case, a sort of Inquisition would have been brought about, causing a drastic (though arguably negative) change in society, most likely resulting in a religious revolution of sorts. I've ignored several obvious problems like the explorers dying, as these would inevitably cause a search, which in turn would reach the west.

However, I can just imagine the age of satellites without Western colonization of the Americas...the human drive for goods is so great, I can only guess that ages of advancements never came about to cause the non-colonization of America/discovery of the West. But basically, that in itself is unrealistic; changes happen and we're just as helpless to stop it as our own human tendencies...so the discovery of the West by the Europeans or Asians was inevitable.
