"Let not history repeat itself..." - Temporary Coa

Wormia

Chancellor George Thomas IV once again stood at the podium of the press release room of the Federated Republican Palace. He inhaled deeply, with a kind of invisible stress burdening his shoulders.

"My celestial neighbors," He began.

"As of 2207 hours this past day, Wormian military officials intercepted a message from the Allied States of Alien Covenant. It included broadcasted event, of a human colonist being beheaded. Further plans to continue relentless and unhindered genocide have been announced to take place further."

He inhaled deeply, "The Federated Stellar Republics of Wormia, cannot, and will not stand for this. We have not one colony ship, let alone colonist outside Wormian borders. Still, we are compelled to put a stop to this genocide that will kill millions if action is not taken IMMEDIATELY."

"I am compelled to remember a dark chapter in Earth history, known only as the Holocaust. By definition, holocaust means 'Mass death, usually by fire.' But, however Webster interpreted the word, the epoch in history associated with it ended with a total of 10 million dead by systematic, brutal, and unhindered extermination. Once again, civilization is faced with the same ugly face."

"There is a difference. When in the 1940's the Allied Powers took time to wait, we will not. We cannot delay. Countless millions of colonists lie in the realm of Covenant reach. Will we allow this brutalization by the Covenant sects to continue? Wormia most certainly will not. We alone have enough firepower and fleet to take out and end this, but not without a holocaust of our servicemen in our hands."

He breathed in once more, "As of the 22nd of the fourth month, the year two-thousand five hundred and thirty five, the Federated Stellar Republics has officially declared war upon the Covenant and her sects. We will accept only complete surrender and evacuation of colonists as terms to end the war." He began to walk away, but, he then turned looking gravely at the holocam from which he was being filmed. "Let not history repeat itself. We have been given a second chance to face our wrongs in the past. Let us right them. If we do not, 50 million people have committed the ultimate sacrifice for nothing. If only for those who died in World War II, I implore you, do not condone these horrific acts of genocide."

Chancellor Thomas,

I read with regret the of the cleansing of the Alien Covenant. We of the Father World are members of the Xeraphian Federation, recently expanded into space. We stand ready to aid you in your quest to stop these barbarians in their genocidal attack on foreign nationals.
We have a considerable System Force in stand-by mode.

respectfully,

Lord Quetz, CMDR OSS-1, in the name of King Alaric of Xeraph

To the honorable and most moral Protectorate of The Father World, the Federated Stellar Republics of Wormia gladly accepts your assistance in the trying matter.

We have sufficient intelligence leading us to believe that the nation of Alien Covenant and her allies, at current probable estimates have a combined population of 1.140 billion, but may be upwards of 2 billion. These figures are dangerous even to Wormia... do you wish to proceed?

Chancellor Thomas,

We have received a memo from the King. He wants a more specific evaluation of the AC's military situation. We do intend to proceed....we just want to do it in an intelligent manner.

What allies does the AC have?
What portion of NS/space do they occupy?
Where are and how many military installations do they have?

We just need to have an over-all idea of what we're up against.

They are in a region of space called "Covenant Headquarters," which contain two nations who are Covenant controlled.

The Allied States of Alien Covenant
The Armada of The sacred Covenant

Both seem eager and willing to be allies in any such war, however, Wormia's military alone could easily take both of these nation, allied or not, with her forces.

An extraneous state, one whom, according to Wormian officials would be likely to remain neutral or completely idle during the war has a population almost equal to the two above states' population combined. Wormian strategists are fairly confident in this postulate, however, we are by no means basing this war on that hope.

The Republic of Comadia

Again, our forces combined would slightly exceed the combined fleets of these three nations combined. Wormia alone is close to the combined population.

What we can provide beyond that, is what information of the Covenant we have recieved. The Covenant... is a loosely based theocracy, where priests and whatnot essentially do the governing. Often, the nation's population is united through the conquest and destruction of some other race, humanity or elves for example.

As you may or may not know, our somewhat recent move from isolationism has left us with little or no intelligence of what has happened the past 200 years, and, if you are still uncertain about participating in such a war, Wormia can fully understand.

The Principality of Skeelzania has recently proposed a solution to genocide problem within the Covenant. We have offered to take the Human colonists off the Covenant hands, removing them to Skeelzanian space where they will be welcomed with open arms.

We are hoping that the Aliens accept this solution. However, if they refuse we will gladly join a colalition against the Covenant. Even if we fail to save any of the humans, we will carry out a "1 million Aliens for every Human" policy of revenge.

The Federated Stellar Republics would be ecstatic to see the Covenant accept the aforementioned proposal, however, Covenant arrogance may put aside all hope for peace. However, noting that the Covenant may yet be intelligent enough to understand that they could not possibly emerge victorious at the hands of our three respective starfleets, they may be compelled to adhere to the demands we have handed them.

If such a war were to occur, however, the Federated Stellar Republics of Wormia cannot condone Skeelzanian "1,000,000 Covenant for every 1 Human." This would be startlingly oxymoronic on the part of Wormia, and every nation involved here.

(OOC: Not to be mean or anything... but you haven't got all that. You are one day old... give yourself a bit more time... till about 100 million people... then you can have the big ships. In the meantime, you probably only have small attack corvettes, and much less than 6 million soldiers. Read the stickies, like I didn't. I got pwned when I was a new guy... so read 'em..., then, edit your stats a bit.)

(OOC: I read the cloned part... and... well... the stickies are loose on that... but new nations need their "new" phase, so... that cloned army might want to wait 'till around 50 -100 million people. As for your ships, I have one word: "Oh." Wait, no, two. "Okay.")

We of the Kilrathi Empire have learned that there is no future in opposing the humans. It is a lesson paid for in the blood of our warriors and the ashes of our world. We would rather ally ourselves with the apes than stand against them. As a result, we offer our services, as pledged in response to the Covenant declaration.

A wise decision, noble Kilrathi. Your voice shall be added to the new order that shall arise from the ashes of what was the once mighty Covenant. Though your descriptions of humans leave much to be desired, that can be overlooked in favor of a mutually beneficial future for both our respective nations.

Official Response: Hail and Greetings esteemed members of the coalition! We cordially congratulate you upon this endeavour and wish it the best of intentions. However, we feel that the nations combined may be in for a suprise from the so-called "Covenant" that opposes you. Crownguard urges you to rethink your tactics and make sure this endeavour does not fail.

If you wish our aid, you shall have it. We do not enjoy these fanatical and honorless scum and do not consider them worthy of controling ANYTHING, let alone an "empire". In no disrespect to the nations involved, Crownguard seems to be numerically superior to the COMBINED Covenant nations. We feel our aid would be most useful, having a war machine that ravages whole worlds and would minimize the loss involved. If you wish to consider allowing for Crownguard to spearhead its own forces to "deal" with this menace, or else give an active role in the outlaying of the fleets, it would be most satisfactory.

"Consider it progress. In the days of the old Empire, when a human was simply prey to fall beneath my claws, I called your kind far worse. I believe you have a saying - Old habits die hard. Besides... You are primates without tails, are you not? Apes." The old diplomat laughed. It was always hard to tell with non-human species, but there was something in his eyes that said he was kidding.

The Kilrathi Empire would not dream of allowing the Crownguard the lion's share of the glory. Though we have only recently retaken our place on the galaxy's stage, we are no backwater republic, but a power in our own right. Our forces will cooperate with yours... But we will have our own place in the coming battle.

Official Response: Perhaps the esteemed Kilrathi ambassador misunderstands our concerns. We are not in this for "glory", for we do not find a massive response against a primitive enemy "glorious". We are concerned with stopping this situation as quick as possible, before more lives are lost. Such is honor, not glory. Our concern stems from the fact that the assembled nations will commit the fallacy of democracies in bickering and arguing instead of actually following the lead of a few and DOING the task. Such has been our experiences with alliances in the past.

Perhaps it is time to move on to a more pressing subject. By the terms of the Federated Stellar Republic of Wormia, the Covenant will Unconditionally Surrender or face Complete Military Destruction and Regime Change.

We at Wormia begin to question whether the current regime ought to be guaranteed survival even if they unconditionally surrender. Before we invade, it would likely be wise of us to plan post-Covenant governing.

We would like to point out that the Covenant people are unlikely to accept any foreigner as leader.

Official Response: We feel that while this represents a good long term view, the short term view is that people are dying. Daily. We feel that if you wish to deal with the governance later, so be it.

Crownguard will push forward alone if need be to secure the humans, elves, and any other persecute drace from furthur oppression and extermination. If the alliance does not accept this, than so be it. Some things need to be done at once and cannot wait for deliberation. I only hope the others of this group realize this as well.

We have not forgotten this fact. We were simply pointing out that we must also think of the post Covenant world... despite the fact that their civilians are even for the persecution of our colonists. Wormia has none in their immediate vicinity, as we have yet to begin our colonial expansion.
