Or you won't explode. Made you look
The Imperial CAS-01 Jaguar, a specialized aircraft designed to replace aging A-10 aircraft, has been completed after very little research, taking modern parts and simply throwing them together. This accomplishes three things:
Lowers the cost of the aircraft allowing for more aircraft to be purchased.
Allows cheaper maintainance, using already existing parts and systems allows current technitions to repair the aircraft with little or no extra training.
Allows for cheaper maintainance, allowing for more aircraft.
The main differance between this aircraft and other aircraft is that it does not set out to do every job; it does only one, which is to provide close air support to ground troops (hence the name, CAS-01) and provide anti-armor capabilities for light combat forces facing an armor threat. It is not intended, as people often misuse A-10s/Su-39s for, for striking infrastructure, government, etc. It only does CAS.
Why the CAS-01 is better than even Raysian designs
The closest thing Raysia has to a CAS aircraft is his RB-225-800 Megafortress bomber, a massive, undoubtably powerful, bomber that attempts to do several things at once. Although meant to carry many bombs, the massive aircraft has anti-air missles, ball turrets (turrets were ineffective back in WWII, I assume they still are), heavy armor, and even an anti-ICBM system. No one can deny that that bomber is great. However, such a large aircraft would provide a mush easier target for fighter aircraft, using cannons rather than missles, to target. Though the CAS-01 is not stealthy, it is smaller. It is also more rugged, taking off from forward, underdeveloped, runways and even an aircraft carrier. Also, if one lost this aircraft, it would be much easier to replace the manpower and aircraft.
Stats
Engine: Two IMPW-100 engines, rated at 25,000 pounds each. Each, being essential smaller F119-PW-100 engines (F-22 engines), is low maintainance.
Maximum Speed: Mach 1.2
Range: 1,000 miles (870 nautical miles)
Armament: (the fun stuff)
The CAS-01 is armed with a 40mm cannon, designed to more easily kill tanks by top attack, with a KE round rated at 100mm, than an A-10's 30mm cannon.
Contained underwing is up to 24,000 lbs of bombs with 12 underwing pylons and 4 under-fuselage stations.
Length: 53 feet, 4 inches (16.16 meters)
Height: 14 feet, 8 inches (4.42 meters)
Wingspan: 66 feet (20.12 meters). Wings are backward swept in order to provide more lift.
Armor for the aircraft is titanium, and the aircraft is armed with state of the art ECM systems, flare, and chaff launchers to counter growing anti-aircraft missle development. In the export version, the ECM system is downgraded.
Flight control systems are up to par, with manual systems in case the computer controlled ones are damaged or destroyed in battle. Other saftey measures include seperate fuel tanks and the ability to fly with a damaged engine, given by the higher thrust to weight ratio.
Cost: $20,000,000, 1/10 of the Raysian bomber's cost.
Here is the not-so-good picture of the CAS-01, made by my poor self with photoshop.
