The trouble with anyone trying to RP something like this (or like the guy who tried to RP as Cardassia from Star Trek the other day) is that people like the Goa'uld are meant to be a super-powerful race to start off with - obviously in TV-land this is possible, as they couldn't possibly start from the beginning or it'd take to Series 3496 before anyone had any sort of empire.

But NS doesn't allow for that, as if people were allowed to jump in as Goa'uld empires from day one, everyone would demand to be allowed to start off as a gigantic, all-consuming empire and then the fun of building the nation just wouldn't exist anymore - plus all the work the big nations have already put in would come to nought.

While it's disappointing that people can't use those big empire nations from sci-fi - because they usually have a massive backing story and enormous scope for RP ideas - it's sort of a necessity to make sure NS runs fairly for all.
