When all of TIS's Armed Forces listened in for the broadcast from their President, Rick Rivera, they heard the voice of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs speak instead:
"... At 2200 Freeport Daylight Time, Special Forces troops rushed the Presidental Palace without resistance and took President Rick Rivera into custody. On his desk, a secret agreement between Allanea and The Island States was found with only a partial signature written into the blank space for our 'trusted' President. He was going to sell us out for economic gains and to deny us our honor in combat. For this treasonous act, he will be exiled to one of the deserted barrier islands."
"As of 2300 FDT, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General James Newman is Acting President under accordance with the Constitution of the Second Republic, leaving his trusted aide to take his place."
"The legislature is hereby dissolved and a new one will be elected in two months. All ministers in power during Rivera's long reign will be left in power, as they are not guity of his sins."
"This treaty flies in the face of our history and our honor. We may never clense ourselves fully of this traitorous deed, so we shall prove ourselves again by winning this war with Allanea. Our cause is just and our military strong. Commander-in-Chief Newman out."
