Al Anbar declares referendum in Lebanon governorate

20-04-2004, 02:49
The Ministry of Information today announced that, in obligation to our treaty obligations with Whittier and allies, Al Anbar declares that a referendum is to be held today throughout all sub-governorates of Lebanon.

The referendum is being held on whether or not the people of Lebanon wish to remain with Lebanon or become an independent nation over the course of twenty four months.

In recent polling of the people of Lebanon, some 82.4% have declared that they would be willing to stay with Al Anbar. President Saddam Hussein declared in a speech read on Iraqi Television that he believes that the great "people of the Lebanese governorate will elect to remain with their brothers and sisters in Al Anbar."

In 1995, Saddam received 99.96% of the vote and in October of 2002 he received 100%. :)

We made an agreement to establish a Eredronian military base in the Kuwaiti governorate of Al Anbar. There is no longer a Kuwaiti governorate within Al Anbar and therefore, we cannot provide such services. We will not give any soil within Al Anbar to you in exchange for your lost base in Kuwait.

Then compensations must be made. Al Anbar must make amends for its failure to meet its duties.

Al Anbar has met its treaty obligations. We will not be forced into giving up our territory to you for no reason. If you wish to attempt to invade Al Anbar, you are free to do so, but you will be destroyed by the people of Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon.

It would be in the interests of President Hussein and the Al Anbar government not to so recklessly abandon their agreements and responsibilities. Eredron does not wish animosity with President Hussein, but will not tolerate Al Anbar's refusal to meet or compromise their promises.

Imperial cartographers, upon hearing the news, recognized Lebanon as an Al Anbari territory, and added the territory to a list of Al Anbari states in the government section of the map. Also changed was the status of Jordan, disputed with Lower Egypt. (OOC: Me and him agreed that I will own it in one, nearly identical world, he in another, and co-rulership in another. This was done via telegram. So, the map would also be changed in the other worlds.)

While we may have some disagreements in principle with Al Anbar, we wish a healthy and fruitful relationship with their government. Our Secretary of State and GM of the Chicago White Sox, Kenny Williams has invited an Al Anbari delegation to come to a summit in our capitol of Chicago. The ammenities include:
-Sky Box seats with our President, Richard M. Daley to a White Sox game at the Comiskey Park
-Bear's tickets
-Bulls and Blackhawk tickets.
-The choosing of a site and groundbreaking for an embassy if you wish to have one.
-The presidential suite at the Drake Hotel or Palmer House Hilton
-theater tickets
-a meeting with President/Mayor Daley.

Please tell us if you wish to accept our invitation. We wish to be your friends and have a very good relationship.

Good Luck.

signed,

President Richard M. Daley
VP and White Sox manager: Ozzy Guillen

Whittier will not accept an invasion of Al Anbar. As far as we are concerned, Al Anbar has met its treaty obligations. They have withdrawn from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and a referendum has been held on the fate of Lebanon. International observers from Whittier and certain other nations have observed the elections and can certify that actual count varies from the published results by only 3%.
The International Observer Force for the Lebanese referendum hereby declares that it is official that the people of Lebanon have chosen, by overwhelming majority to be part of the nation of Al Anbar.
