Following a series of high-level, classified meetings with the Eredron Military Command Staff, the Consul authorized the research and development necessary to gain Eredronian supremacy on land, air and on sea. A 200 page report was issued; key points included:


+ Replacing the Strategic Bomber Force with the redesigned Tu-180E Implacable Bomber (http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/dr_no/tu180.htm)


+ Expanding and upgrading existing global military bases, and acquiring further stations around the world; research into offshore military platforms and mobile naval bases.


+ Decommissioning older and obsolete military aircraft and naval ships.


+ Expanding and upgrading current Eredronian naval shipyards, namely the Northern Region Military Complex Shipyards, and the Havarian Shipyards


+ Modify current military doctrine to meet shifting military tactics


+ Commission Eredronian contractors to submit unique and independent designs, ending Eredron's current dependency on US and other foreign military designs.


Also listed was the need to meet and surpass current Doujin naval technology and power, and increase mobility of troops.

An initial budget increase of 350 billion was granted to the Eredron Military, with additional funding to be secured in four months, when the Consul would submit his proposed budget for the upcoming year 2019.

A group of twelve military and government officials was comissioned by the Consul to seek methods of implementing the points laid out by the 200 page report. The task force suggested covert intelligence gathering on nations and militaries around the world, and increasing the naval budget by another 80 billion, initially.

Nearly two dozen of the nation's largest aerospace and defense contractors were also contacted and invited to submit designs and proposals for ground, air and naval units, as well as researching development of celestial weapons, including orbital missile platforms.

The first series of proposals was submitted to the committee, the most preeminent coming from Smith & Smith Defense Inc., which offered an improved aircraft carrier design dubbed the CVX.

Offering decreased maintenance costs, and improved combat effectiveness, the CVX would replace the current carrier fleet of CV-77's.
