Founder's note: Real... Hi everyone, I'm a new player to the game, and I thought rather than just state the obvious, I'd go in for a full on roleplay from that start.
My nation, the Pan Pacific Union, is based in an area which is actually highly rebellious, yet has many valuable mineral deposits. Once again, the description of the land itself (I made a new region specifically) is all roleplayed.
Think of my nation a bit like the Iran of old, how they wanted to create an Islamic Revolution across the Middle East. Except my guys just want to take over the Pacific, and they have a powerful military behind that desire...

The room was darkened, and yet it still blared light, a visual kaleidoscope of greens, blues and reds pulsed through the interception centre as a young communications operator came towards the commanding officer. He stood to attention as he took in the black uniform of the Pan Pacific Displinary Corps.
His voice stammered in fear as he said "S-s-sir, our men have managed to intercept the f-final communications relay"
"Excellent" the disciplinary officer murmured.
The young comms operator almost tripped himself up as he doubled back to do as was asked, normally, the PPDC officers that came to the station were as corrupt as the officers above them, and even more so.
This man however, was anything but corrupt. An offer by one of the younger guards for him to turn his eyes on a drug deal had seen the man in question publicly lashed, then executed for his crime against the state.
The disciplinary officer pressed down a buzzer on his coats collar, "the communications centre is ready for your broadcast your eminence".

Throughout the regions of the Asia Pacific, and across what had once been a united Australia, the following broadcast took place. From there, it was beamed to the rest of the world by in country news agencies...
The shadowed figure of a man filled almost 7 billion television screens of varying shapes and sizes as he spoke.
"My name is irrelevant, what you shall know is that I am the leader of the glorious Empire of the Pan Pacific Union. For those of the intelligence community who know me not, you may know me as my people know me, 'Osira'."
A map came on the screen, a position in the pacific was shaded in red. "this is our domain. It is a lush and beautiful place, and has many diverse wealths. Our national animal the eagle is a protected species."
"crime is unheard of here", a grisly scene of a public execution filled the television screens, "we have a zero tolerance policy, all criminals, especially those who smuggle drugs, will not be tolerated".
The figure came back to the screen, "I say this openly to all people of the pacific, our nation intends to unite the people of this region" his hand swept a picture of the Pacific, "and we intend to do this through all means."
"For your people, for our people, for the Union", with that, the figure disappeared off screen, and the regions televisions returned to static.

"An excellent broadcast, Communications Officer" the Disciplinary Officer stated. The young man fiddled with his hands and looked down as he said "thank you, superior sir." The disciplinary officer once again looked at him and said "no, officer, you have nothing to thank me for"...
The gunshot sounded extremely loud even in the soundproofed room.
