Alien Landing in Antarctica (Open RP)
<Many Millenea Ago...>
http://www.faf.jp/fafar/01/img/072.jpg
The ancients were our fathers and mothers... They have since vanished. As war came to their empire, they took their people and sent them to the stars, someday hoping for a chance to return to their homeland, in a prophecy from the gods that were their predecessors. Nothing was known about the true Motherworld, but it was said to be a place of ocean and desert, plain and jungle...
The Se'etva (Theologists) and Kelu (Scientists) had spent many years perfecting what they thought were the Motherworld coordinates. It would hopefully bring them beyond orbit, as the effects of the Motherworld stardrive were unknown. But nobody knew how it worked, or how it could be fixed, and their first jump could be their last. The Kelu had also designed a series of gravitic compensators on the hulls of the landers that ringed the spine of the colony ship so that they would not burn up in their orbit. Now, all they could do was hope, and pray.
Nobody could quite describe the look of the jump, because nobody could see it. Many felt queasy, and a few of the elders and nestlings fainted, but nothing more. As the spacecraft came out, it appeared to be just beyond the high orbit of a beautiful blue-white sphere, under a polar cap.
"It's beautiful... Could it truly be the Motherworld?"
The Shiplord, the Mila'ker, stood high on his hind legs. The Jashea had glistening hides and shining fur, like a seal. Their heads were like those of a seal as well, but with a dolphinlike snout. A vestigal tail, for swimming, poked it's way out behind two doglike legs, and had a pair of comparatively thin, but sturdy arms with 3 fingers and a thumb on each hand. Their environment was cold, but present on earth... In a few places.
Mila'ker rubbed the blue clanmark on his forehead, making a clicking noise as the Kelu'ker, the head scientist, walked forward.
"It meets many descriptions... But, it's... Inhabited."
"By who?" snapped the Mila'ker, who was worried of such things.
"We do not know... But they have limited holdings over that polar area."
"Does it fit our needs?"
"I should hope so. It should have enough room to let us set down, but the temperature is fine. We can sustain ourselves as we have."
<1 week later>
The massive ship, with a bit over 5 million souls aboard, activated it's ion engines, pushing it into orbit from behind the moon.
The 1000 Landing craft, like saucers with wings, aligned for their proper trajectory as they descended at a shallow angle through the atmosphere, in an act that would have looked like an ICBM attack... On the area 400 miles East from the Ross Ice shelf. Mila'Ker sat in his reentry pod, hoping that the people of this wolrd would not be militant.
OOC:Ok, this is a futuristic RP. However, beyond space these people have very few advanced technologies, only their aircraft and agricultural technologies are anything future. Everything else is around 2040 tech, because of the loss of knowledge. I'm hoping for some non-space nations to join in.

OOC: Technically, the Coalition of Evil (i.e. my region) owns the north pole/the Arctic (so there is a bit heavier population density than you might expect) and any ships approaching would be met with my empires spacefleet, and they wouldn't be happy. However, since you're new I'll be nice.
IC:
"Sir, scoutships have detected about a thousand small craft coming in to land. They're launching from a large mothership; it looks like its a transport ship, probably holding between 3 and 7 million people."
"Hmmm. Have a fighter escort approach, don't open fire."
"Space or air?"
"Both. I wants the Wasps present for the superior manouverability, but if they try to run to space we may need to follow. And send them this message,"

The Mattopolian Space Agency's crew exploration vehicle, the Griffin, returns to earth orbit.
Pilot Alexander Tweedle notices hundreds of lights near the polar cap.
Co-Pilot Georgi Alexandrov motions to the communication officer in back to relay a message to Star City, the heart of the nation's space program.
When the images are beamed to earth, scientists are puzzled.
"Georgi!" Tweedle screamed "we are suffering massive electric failure. It is almost like there is something up here in orbit with us, generating a disturbing electric field."

Onboard the ICS Protector
The alert klaxons blared as the crew stared at the enormous ship on the viewscreen.
Captain Devron yelled to his tactical officer, "Mr. Stevenson!! What the hell is that thing?"
Stevenson gawked at the readings on his monitor, "It appears that nearly 1000 smaller vessels have detached from the larger vessel. The larger ship was somehow blocked from our sensors while on the far side of the moon. I am not detecting any form of weapons systems being powered up. The smaller vessels appear to be descending towards Antarctica."
"Open hailing frequencies", ordered Devron. "To alien vessel, this Captain Jack Devron of the United Imperium of Crossman starship Protector. Please state your indentity and cease your landing operation."
OOC:It's Antarctica... Not the North pole.
"Mila'ker, we've got transmissions from all over."
"Who is it?"
The comms officer shifted and made a short series of clicks, representing confusion.
"I do not know, my shiplord. I believe both are in the same language, but one is hailing from the other pole..."
"Strange... Transmit the signals from the archives."
The comms officer nodded as he called up the sound files. The signals true meaning was unknown, but supposedly represented greetings in the language of the Ancient Motherworld. He was unsure that they matched, but they were played anyway.
"Shiplord, I detect one large warcraft, and various smaller warcraft from the opposite pole."
"Warleader, how many Warcraft are present on the main vessel."
The red dye striped Jashean looked at the shiplord with confidence.
"I have 30 Warcraft, as well as their kinetic weapons. They can be fully powered within minutes."
"Good. Load them for Kinetic and light energy weapons, but no Great Fires. They must be saved for any larger warcraft."
"It will be done, Shiplord."
The Warcraft were piloted by the Fan'anat, or Warflyers. Their warcraft were fighter sized, painted in a gray on gray tiger stripe pattern. A railgun was mounted ventrally, along with a high powered laser in a turret. 20 Missiles, with low yield plasma warheads, or "Little Fires", were loaded in internal bays. Fan'anat sat in the cockpits of their craft, which were nestled within it in coccoons. They watched through varying cameras connected to neural links as they were loaded and powered up.

For Future Reference: The Squornshelan space fleet is divided into three main parts the Squornshelan Home Defense Fleet (SHDF), and Squornshelan Expiditionary Forces 1 & 2. The SHDF which consists of 7 older ships and 13 newer ones is the only one on station near Earth. The ships are:
-6 Imperial class Star Destroyers (Star Wars ripoffs)
-1 Helios class Heavy Battlecruiser (Starcraft ripoff).
-1 Tempest class command ship (9 kilometers in length, overall firepower comparable to a SW super star destroyer)
-4 Guardian class Heavy Destroyers (3 kilometers long, armed with heavy turbolasrs, light laser cannons, and antimatter torpedoes)
-5 Sniper class light cruisers (500 meters long, armed with 30 light laser cannons and 30 quadcannons, designed to pick off starfighters)
-2 Pulsar class gunboats (150 meters long armed with antimatter torpedoes and 15 light laser cannons).
IC:
When the rogue ship was discovered on sensor screens, Fleet Admiral James Garrick immediately deployed one of his Sniper cruisers, the David Lister and the Helios cruiser, the Douglas Adams. As the landing craft detached, he added the Guardian and the Raptor, an Imperial Star Destroyer, to the scouting gropu. The four ships slowly approached the southern polar area, where the 1000 craft were entering. A transmission was sent from the Tempest to the scout force. "Do not fire on ships entering amosphere unless fired upon. We have ascertained by sensor that they are not ICBM's."
"Acknowledged."

There is the possibility that both these could serve to conquer earth.
1. If your going to take over, you need a form of travel.
2.This could prove a secluded place to setup operations.(thats out the window with everyone seeing them though)

The Mattopolian spacecraft Griffin docks at the Lebechenkov Space Station. The two astronaughts (called hypernaughts in Mattopolia; a tradition which began with "hyper-orbital" projects in the 1950's) attempt to hail the massive vessel.
note: Mattopolia's space program is not capable of (manned) interstellar space travel. Think of it as NASA 30 years from now.
The landing craft could not stop, nor reply during their reentry. They finally broke through, their large forms descending from the heavens over the Ross Ice shelf, traveling westward at a shallow angle. Their ContraGravs kicked in as huge drag chutes ejected, slowing them to a halt over 4 miles. As the steam rose up from their trails, the landing doors began to open, as the first few Jashea walked out, their bodies govered in shining black wetsuit like garments.
"It's good to walk in fresh air... It's been so long since we stopped at a planet on our journey."
"Indeed... We must establish communications with the colony ship. Tell everyone else to begin configuring the landers to set up the hab modules."
"It will be done, sir."
In orbit, the comms officer clicked in relief as he watched the progress bar on his screen fill up.
"I think we have a translation, Mila'ker! They're asking for identification and purpose. I can send them messages back in text."
"Good."

"It has been sent, my shiplord."
"Tell me, I've been wondering... Do you think this is the motherworld? And if it is, who are these people?"
"I do not know... Many say it has been destroyed. I'm doubtful, many of those locations from the Ancient Records were just lists of other solar systems and planets that could support us."
"Whether or not, this must be our new home... We are incapable of leaving at this point."

"Captain!", shputed the communications officer. "We're recieving a signal from the alien craft. Text only."
Devron turned in his chair to face the comm officer, "What are they saying?"
"They say they are not looking for a fight, sir. They're looking for their 'Motherworld'."
"And they think its Earth?", Devron looked confused. "Mr. Stevenson, raise shields, but do not power up weapons systems. We'll give them a chance to prove their intent. Mr. Barkley, send a message to Command, request additional forces, in case things don't go peacefully."
"Aye sir.", the two officers replied in unison.
"Shiplord, they're raising their defenses... And I have a communication from one of the Se'etva cloisters."
Mila'ker was now more concerned than ever. The Se'etva were among the true leaders of the Jashea, and were thought to be unerring, direct messengers of the gods.
"What?"
"Falhan, the Se'etva that made the predictions on the motherworld. He has performed Se'etvajuriana."
The word was literally "Death at the Godknife", a term for the ritualistic suicides performed in greif, devotion, or failure.
"Gods, no. You mean?"
"He was wrong. He knew he was."
"Well, this just gets better. At least the landings are going fine. Engineering, can the Ancient's drive make another jump?"
"No... The systems have completely distintegrated. It's just gone. Gone."
"Then we stay. We have no other option."
The landing craft were now assembling in crosses, their backs tilted towards eachother as domes were erected over the space between them, and floors assembled. Other domes were being set up, for agriculture. Large communications antenna were erected as the colonists attempted to make contact with the orbiting vessel.

Barkley looked up from his monitor, "Captain, the Hammer and the Iron Fist have arrived to bolster our defenses if needed."
Devron nodded, "Good. Tell them that as of now the alien craft is posing no immediate to our security."
"Aye sir."
"Now open a channel to the alien craft."
"Aye sir. Channel open."
"Alien vessel, this is Captain Devron of the Protector, please state your intentions. We do not wish to fight you as long as you do not threaten our security or that of our world."
And with that Devron leaned back in his chair, waiting for a response of some sort... hopefully a peaceful one. This idea these aliens had that Earth was their "motherworld" made Devron nervous.

Captain Devron of the Protector, we are the Jashea. We have come here looking for our motherworld... But there was a mistake in our dechiphering of the archives. "Looking for their motherworld? That doesn't make any sense at all, wouldn't they have started out there?" Captain James Arnott, commanding officer of the vessel was puzzled. "Keep all weapons and shields powered down, but stay alert, send another query, why Earth?"
[code:1:4be62c4007]
To Mila'ker of the Jashea, we are the SSV Guardian. We request more information about your quest for your motherworld. Why did you belive that Earth is your motherworld? Are we to understand that your race is unaware of its origins? Is there any way we can help you repair your extrasolar drive?

[code:1:63cb7b0325]
To the peoples of the Earth vessels-
Unfortunately, the records were mistranslated, and we have made a jump to one of the planets the Ancients discovered. Our extrasolar drive was very old, millenia, and during the jump the metals liquidified, and had to be ejected to prevent catastrophe on the ship. If you wish to know why we are looking for our motherworld... It is a complicated story that is unclear at many times. But we were sent to preserve our race, all of us split up. We would be happy for any kind of diplomatic relations.
Mila'ker Atmas[/code:1:63cb7b0325]
The heavier landers, carrying vehicles, began to set down in a similar fashion to the personnel transports. Their gaping doors opened, and the contragravity craft hummed to life, their C-Grav pods lifting them a good 6 inches over the ice. They carried more equipment for setting up facilites for water, food, and communications. A few bore the stark red clammarks of the warriors, and had rotating turrets housing guns firing liquid propellant rounds, and the infantry were armed with assault rifles firing similar munitions. While the aerospace warcraft maintained many high tech cannons and guns like the Relativistic railguns, hellbores, X-Ray lasers, and more, the only weapons made with Ancient technology availible to the ground were the kinetic-kill missiles. Nevertheless, the Ground Warriors set up a perimeter as the Engineers began to help the rest with construction. While there was no sign of combat above on sensors, they still did not know the situation in orbit, and wouldn't for 20 minutes.

{02:30 hours. The Imperial Palace in -Noir-'s capital city Miltia. The Chancellor's Aide walks in Chancellor Keiji's office. Keiji sits at his desk going over a stack of documents that would be need at that afternoon's Senate meeting}
Aide: Sir. The people at the UMNCC (UMN Control Center) has asked for your presence immediately.
Keiji: Why now??? I'm busy...Say that i'll meet with them after the Senate meeting.
Aide: They said it is urgent...
Keiji: What can be more urgent than this???
Aide: Aliens, sir...Aliens...The network has been tracking these "aliens" for several weeks now...The UMN operators at Second Miltia had been tracking these aliens for almost a year already...They had, at first, assumed they were just asteroids or other stuff...Until a space freighter reported them in a month ago...But...
{Keiji cut her off as the aide was finishing her sentence}
Keiji: Why wasn't I informed about this from the beginning!?!?

OOC2 (when i finished this current post): it seemed that the post ended up longer than my first try...
{03:15 hours. Chancellor Keiji arrives at the UMNCC. One of the persons stationed at the front desk in the main lobby of the UMNCC, led Chancellor Keiji through the labyrinth of halls and corridors inside the building. Keiji is surprised that the person didn't lead him to the regular metal double-door Main Control Center of the UMN that was on the top floor of the UMNCC, which was large room in which was the main access point for the UMN main frame. But, the person led Keiji farther into the UMNCC, he felt as if his guide was leading him deeper and deeper underground. They come to a stop at the end of a single corridor that ended in a simple door, similar to the couple hundred doors they passed. But this door had one unique feature, on the door was spelled, in bold silver lettering, compared to the typical blue and sometimes red (used only for doors in which "caution" was needed), was "S.E.T.I." The guy motioned to Keiji to go in. Once inside, Keiji found himself in a large darkly lit room, with a gigantic domed ceiling in the middle of the room. On one wall was a large view screen which was displaying streaming live satellite videos of the crash site, and other charts and maps. Also in the room were hundreds of computer consoles and touch-screens that lined the lower parts of the walls and also formed "islands" of computers. The room also had several "display tables" that projected floating 3-dimensional, semi-transparent images, models, maps, and charts over the immediate table. and in the middle of the room, underneath the dome, was a larger "display table" that was surrounded by 4 computers with wide angle monitors capable for giving the user a 100 degree view of his or her screen, one per side. In the middle of the table's "virtual grid" is a hidden projector. The projector projects a 3-dimensional image over the table, like its smaller counter parts located around the room. The domed ceiling provided a large space for the floating image to be projected in. Current image being displayed is a large precise replica of the Earth.}
Keiji: Ok...Someone tell me what has been going on!
{All the scientists turn around to see who had shouted. Upon seeing the Chancellor, they stand up and salute him. One of the scientists walks forward and greets Keiji directly}
Scientist: Good morning, sir. I am Doctor Alexia Catalano...You can call me Alexia for short. I am the head scientist for the UMN SETI program. I assume that your aide has given you my message...
Keiji: Aliens...
Alexia: Yes...Aliens...If you would come with me...I'll show you the rest of our findings...
{Alexia leads Keiji to one of the nearer consoles and begins to show him the findings they have gathered}
Alexia: Here is the info on the alien spacecraft we have gathered since July 4th 2003...That was when we first detected the aliens we now see right now...From these images...They look just like a large clump of comets that were scheduled to pass through the solar system...But from this imagery here taken a few months afterwards...It shows a smaller group of objects leaving the comet group...Here are the photographs from the beginning of this week...Several space freighters passing by Mars from the Moon were reported sighting these aliens...Here were yesturday's images...It shows satellite images of the alien ships entering Earth atmosphere and landing in Antartica...Here...
{Alexia points to a red beacon on the map that is being displayed on the monitor}
Keiji: Mmhmm...
Alexia: And here are today's images...Several heat signatures have exited the vessels...And here are the images from a few hours ago...Several round structures have been erected...We don't know what they are yet...But they seem to be some sort of beacon or transmitting device...
{Another scientist from one of the "display tables" yells out to Alexia, to come over there}
Alexia: What is it Martin? Here, follow me.
{Alexia leads Keiji over to where Martin is standing}
Martin: Good morning, Chancellor. I am Doctor Martin DeCarlo...I am incharge of interstellar observation and the communication between our stations and outposts throughout the universe...
Keiji: What? Universe?
Martin: Yes, we have stations throught the universe...We can setup and operate an SETI outpost or station anywhere in the universe, where ever there is a Type 1 or Type 2 class UMN Column...We can only operate in these major Trade Column because our specific systems demand lots intricate attention in which only our strongest computers can match...But at this stage...We haven't reached very far in the universe, unfortunately...We have some unmanned outposts past Pluto...But the bulk of our program is situated in the immediate solar system...The largest SETI station, located beyond Second Miltia is by Jupiter...I Dock Colony 487-A...
Keiji: You mean you have a station at Second Miltia?
Martin: Of course...It would be essential to our program...The free-orbiting space colony, Second Miltia, as you should know, houses second most largest UMN main frame control center inside the UMNMA (UMN Management Agency)...Only surpassed by the one here in Miltia, the UMNCC...And...
{Keiji cuts Martin off mid-sentence}
Keiji: And if the UMNCC gets knocked offline...All administrative powers over the UMN shift over to the UMNMA in Second Miltia...I know...I read the manual...
Martin: Ok...Well, we all have to read it...If you work here...
Alexia: Ahem...What did you want Martin, for calling us over here?
Martin: Oh, yea...Here check out these images taken by IKONOS Satellite 56-b...As they pass Second Miltia orbit...The satellite took these images...Just a few minuts ago...Its sensors detected a sub-space variance...Very slight...My guess is that it is a cloaked object...And I doubt it was something that was moving very fast that we didn't detect it...Here...Let me try to get a IR image...
{Martin switches the Satellite lenses to Infrared mode. He slowly adjusts the camera resolution and other settings in order to get a better and clearer image}
Martin: All I know is that it is not one of ours...It is shaped irregularly...
Alexia: Wait stop...Go back to Setting 109R, 56B, and...Umm...200Y...No 180Y...There we go...Now get it onto the main screen...
{Martin makes the adjustments and displays the image on the large main screen}
Alexia: Everyone...Look...What does that thing look like to you?
Scientist: It is too small to be a ship...
Scientist2: Some sort of satellite...
Martin: IKONOS Satellites 48-a, 01-g, 231-y, 019-a, 6190-i, 483-b, 56-q, 56-w, and 56-z all report detecting similar objects like we are seeing here on the screen...
Alexia: Hey...Doesn't that look like a disk shape?
Keiji: And those look like antennae...
Scientist: Hmm...You're right...
Martin: It is a sort of sensor or communications array...Just in from the UMN operators upstairs...They detected a slight disturbance in the UMN Transfer Columns...At the locations of these objects...The only thing that would interferre with the UMN Transfer Columns would be a "rogue" signal...Or frequency...But it has to be very VERY strong...It seems that the objects seem to be working in conjunction with the objects on the ground...
Keiji: Ok...Enough with this passive observation mode we are in...I want UAVs out there and investigating this right now!
{All the scientists return to their seats, after trying to guess what the object was}
Alexia: I'm right on it...
Martin: I will try to get in contact with our friends up in Second Miltia...
Keiji: Ok...Now...Someone get me some breakfast...I'm starving...

A large shuttle, it's adaptive 'skin' set to the blue and gold stripes rather than the camouflage, sat on the now teeming antarctic cities of the Jashea. Living off of solar power, wind power, and geothermal power in addition to fusion, they lived most of their lives in the domed cities they built. But if they wished, they donned their wetsuit like garments and did their work and play outside. But at the spaceport, with loads of minerals from mined asteroids being shuttled down, the bright clan colors of the shuttle and the four warcraft. The Jashea emblem sat on every vessel, and in a series of armorplas boxes being wheeled into the cargo bay of the shuttle.
Jashea soldiers, their orca-like heads helmeted and their slender bodies armored, clutched cone-bore autorifles as they guarded the procession. Atmas, along with the Council of Advisors, entered the shuttle via the passenger door, dressed in flowing cape and cloaklike garments. There were 24, 4 of each from 6 groups. The Imperial Clan, the Merchants, the preists, the warriors, the explorers, and the scientists.
The procession of 5 craft boosted their contragravs until they were far from the cities, and then activated their matter/antimatter and fusion engines, flying towards Crossman city.
OOC: is it too late to RP this thing?
