The Republic of Iraq demands UN sanctions lifted!

11-04-2004, 00:00
The Republic of Iraq today called for the lifting of the "purely evil sanctions setup by the United States and their criminal mercenaries in 1990." Recent statistics from the Iraqi Ministry of Health have shown that over 1.9 million Iraqis have died in between 1991 and April 2, 2004. The majority of whom were children.

"The continuing aggression against the people of Iraq have only served to kill almost two million people, of whom the majority are children. We demand the sanctions lifted within thirty days or Iraq shall halt all exportation of oil." explained Ambassador Mohammed al-Douri, head ambassador of the Iraqi delegation to the United Nations.

It is yet to be seen how the world will react to the threat of oil being cut off to the world. Iraq currently exports approximately 3.5 million barrels per day and is a member of OPEC.

When Saddam's kleptocracy is a thing of the past and the people of Iraq no longer fear the Mukabarat's professional rapists, then we can talk of dropping the sanctions.

We say, lift all UN sanctions against nations who do not pose any direct threat to outsider nations. We support The Republic of Iraq's utlimatum.

If you are worried about the deaths, then do one of the below, preferably all three:

1. Step down from power.
2. Turn your nation into a democracy, which will inevitably lead to 1.
3. Stop abusing the UN Oil for Food program and using the money to buy weapons.

The Republic of Iraq should be able to do whatever they want with their own Oil. Others should either comply with the ultimatum, or start seeking new sources of Oil.

1. President Saddam Hussein was elected in 1996 with 99.6% of the vote. A referendum held in October of 2002, he was given 100% 'yes' to continue as leader of Iraq for another six years. Why should President Saddam Hussein step down when the people are for him?

2. We already have a "democracy". Perhaps not as a democracy you have, we have a democracy that is created by what the people of Iraq want.

3. We demand you to show proof of these outrageous claims.

OOC: 'Iraqi Republican Guards'? 'Saudi Royal Family'?

We've been using renewable power resources for years now. Cleaner and cheaper too, with less foreign dependance.

Meanwhile, to Al Anbar, power change is needed. Really.

Tyrandis would like to note that although Al Anbar may threaten to stop the export of her oil, most sensible nations have already begun oil drilling within their own borders.

We would also like to say that President Hussein is incredibly stupid for thinking such a ploy would influence U.N policy.

And what happened to the 0.4% who voted against him?
