Read this about what happened before the soldiers were sent to the south:

After the 9000 soldiers and equipment have arrived in the southern city of Volta, there wasn't a sign of life in the whole city. Empty streets, deserted houses, abandoned facties. A ghost city... The soldiers have set up a command center in the City Hall. After several hours a small group of soldiers has been sent to the Jungle to find citizens, a couple of them were found and told the soldiers horrible stories about how people who haven't left the city were to tortured and sacrifced by natives and rebels. Most of the people have fled to the north deeper in the jungle and uncharted territory.

We heard from farmers they were coming so we packed our stuff and drove into the jungle just to flee from this wretched place said a local road worker.

Later at an open spot in the jungle about 90 mutilated bodies of men, women and children were found and a letter to the HP government, it was written in blood:

You have seen what we have done to the ones who support the government. You cannot protect them nor can you protect your own soldiers. We will not listen to "our" government anymore. We want a free state of true HP citizens who stay loyal to our crimson flag. We will show NO mercy to the supporters of the government!

With this in mind, several patrols have been sent into the green hell, a nickname for the dense jungle by the local people.

12 citizens from Volta were driven into the rebel's camp. An angry mob came out screaming and spitting at them...
You have betrayed us so you will face your punishment!
The rebel leader turned around when they were beaten and thrown into a pit with bamboo spikes at the bottom. The screams could be heard miles away. Several days later the camp was abandoned because military helicopters circled above it. An eyewitness (Hoon Bulger, staff sargeant) described what he saw:

I have no idea what to say about this butchering... All I saw was blood, and intestines in the pit. We can only hope for the victims they have been burned after their death. Our squad must stay here the whole night to lay an ambush if they return to their camp. I doubt they will because they seem to be a very mobile rebel group. The Captain said that we don't have to fear the death. That's easy for him to say, he stays at the command post in Volta.

Everyone may read it. I'm still looking for someone who can RP the rebel attacks.

Today a large military expedition and researchers went out to search for the rebels. All they found were maimed bodies and half dead people. Most of them were killed by the soldiers just to put them out of their misery. A photographer has made a few photo's of what happened there.

The open space were the 90 bodies were found. The stench of death wes everywhere. We all had the feeling of being watched. Death could be around every tree in this godforsaken place.

A man killed by the rebels. Apparantly they didn't have time to torture him because of his beliefs in politics. He was alive when we found him. Only death could bring him relief of his pain.

"We will never be defeated, no mater how much you try we will always be shadow and in our wake we will leave the remains of our enemies. The country will submit or they will perish, here is a little sample of what will happen to your soldiers" The camera cuts to the image of a villager tied to a stake, he is then whiped with a cat-o-nine-tails for 5 minutes before being flailed alive "we have spoken"

Great! Now we can go on.

100 Soldiers were patrolling through the dense jungle when they suddenly found a camp belonging to the rebels. They saw how the women was whiped. They decided to do something about it. The men stormed out of the jungle and started firing at the rebels.

25 rebels were cut down in the intiall barrage before they could react. They would not let there leader die, dozens of RPG's streaked toward the soldiers and ak's and machine guns opened up. They would massacare them and stick their heads on pikes if they could, they outnumbered them and they were fanaticle

Some soldiers managed to flee, but most of them were captured or killed by the rebels. The captured ones were tortured, maimed and thrown in a crocodile pit. One soldier (Fred McHull, Private) told the commander in Volta the following:

They were butchering the soldiers like I've never seen... Even the pigs were treated better than the poor souls who were left to die.
I mean we did cruel things to the BC people when they were here, but this is simple not human what they're doing. I still can't do anything. It's the most disturbing thing I've ever seen without a doubt. I'm sure they won't stop until the president is dead or when they get their piece of land.

The killing had finished, in all 50 rebels had died and they set about carving up bodies and sticking parts on pikes around the camp before setting off toward the next rendvous, they woud join up with some more rebels and then move on and meet more. Eventually they would surround the capital

OOC: remember SoT, you're deep in the south and walking to the capital takes months... It's 4000 KM away from your prime target. Focus on Volta right now.

It was time for another offensive. About 3000 privates and 200 M1A2 drove to the jungle. A large group of rebels was found. Their exact number was unknown. The commander screamed to attack and the tanks and infantry started firing at the group who ran for cover.

MMM... looks bad.

HP, as a trusted ally on both sides i'll send 1 divison of speical forces (about ten men) to your capital. They will assist you in stopping lootings in and around the city. And if the occasion calls for it, will be asigned to fight along side your troops.

Thanks Stevid, all your help is always welcome. This won't be some small rebellion which is over in a matter of days.

IC: It was a massacre, the rebels were cut down by the tanks and infantry a couple had time to return fire but in all there was no resistanace. 300 rebels were saughtered and another 200 wounded, those that could took there own lives before the soldiers reached them

The Air Force of Stevid is sending 1 divison of Marines to assist.

Milatary operations will begin when they arrive.

When the soldiers found them, they were all killed. In a few small villages men and women who had anti-credonian ideas were gathered. When the "interrogation" began of the few rebels who haven't been killed, most of them were shot in the knees to let them confess. One of the most sadistic commanders, a man of unprecedented cruelty Baron Leighmar. He ordered the poor villagers to go into a tin shed at high noon. This way everyone would latterly being boiled to death. Almost 1 hour after the screaming started in the shed it became more silent and suddenly the last moans stopped. When the soldiers looked into the shed, only red burnt corpses could be seen.
