About Zoogiedom

The nation of Zoogiedom is a large series of islands in a region known as The Zoogie Isles. Despite the nearly complete isolation of the Zoogie Isles, Zoogiedom is active on an international scene.

Our citizens are an intelligent, politically active, hard-working, and overall congenial lot, who work very hard to keep their government in line. Contrary to some popular rumours spread by some of the less friendly UN nations, we are not a lawless nation and our government is not composed of biker gangs...

At this point in time, our government is predominately liberal, with the two most prevalent parties being the Cherub Party, a moderate-left-wing political entity, and the Crab Party, a more centrist-moderate political entity. Conservatives have a spot in the nation too; the most popular right-wing parties being the Mouse Party (moderate-right-wing) and Minu Party (liberatarian).

Being predominately liberal, the government of Zoogiedom is a large one, concerned in many areas - more than the UN gives us credit for. Social welfare is a concern, as is commerce and education...these, at least we receive credit for. However, we are equally concerned about our environment, and of the defense of our region.

Zoogiedom's private industry hasn't quite been taken over by Automobile Manufacturing; in fact, vehicles are only a part of our private sector...the private sector is truly dominated by competing factions - Automobile Manufacturing, Information Technology, Woodchipping, et cetera.

Crime is low in our nation; thanks to progressive educational and social policies, in combination to a well-funded police force. The currency of the Zoogie People is called the lime and its national animal the Cherub.

Our military is much larger than the UN would have many believe. However , it is still quite small by some standards. Our military works not on the principles of size, but on the principles of efficiency and superior intelligence and logistics. Currently the active military fluctuates between 1.4% and 1.8% of the population, while the reserves hover at 4.2% or so.

Military spending is currently 6% of our nation's gross domestic product. Nations will be able to view our most recent fiscal year budget here (http://www.pipian.com/stuffforchat/gdpcalc.php?nation=The%20Zoogie%20People&randomize=1&defenseprovided=1&defense=6).

Zoogiedom is also a member of the UN.

Yeah, especially the rivers...they're too thick on mine, it's almost like they're covering the entire country one way or another.

Thanks Taiwan...

Oh and by the way, for those of you with embassies in Zoogiedom, now you know where they are ;)

Drizzts, it's the same map :P

Tiboritia, I'm using Photoshop 5.5, which is great because even if you have no skills at all, you can make anything look neat with rendering clouds.

Nice Job- Just curuious- when you are creating an army, do you have to put the exact number of men that you have in your military or is that up to you?
The Zoogie People

It's up to you. However, large militaries aren't everything and if there's one thing I can't stand, it's people who try to stretch their militaries to the largest possible percentage of their population. Logistics and supply lines make or break your army, not the hardware or number of people you have.
