Less than a week into the government of new president Adam Melek, it seems like it might all be over.

A revolution has begun in the small nation of Beastieland. Begining in the capital, rebel forces have spread like a fire, seizing several small towns and vast swathes of the countryside.

The revolution was instigated by the Communist party, who have declared that Beastieland is sliding 'into a morass of capitalist decay, under the sway of an increasingly blatant bourgeois dictatorship'. If successful, it would spell the end of the one hundred year old Commonwealth, formerly known as the kingdom of Beastieland.

President Melek has ordered the army to put down the revolution, and it is so far complying with his orders. It is estimated that nearly 200 innocent people have been killed, either caught in the fighting, or demonstrating in the streets.

No figures have been released as to the number of soldiers or rebels killed.

President Melek has vowed:

"We will not bow to terror or the threats of thugs and criminals. This crime will be stopped, and it's instigators punished to the fullest extent of the law. "

The President has stated that, at the present time, outside intervention is not needed.

It seems unlikely that the insurrection will succeed, but whether this will force the government to liberalise it's increasingly authoritarion rule, is anyone's guess.

The insurrection is in it's second day, and government forces have clashed with rebels outside the capital. It is reported that around 500 government troops and 1100 rebels were killed in the fighting during the night.

Heavy fighting is also taking place in the capital, where rebels have seized the General Post Office. It is believed that 100 rebels are holed up inside, and are surrounded by nearly a thousand government soldiers.

President Melek, who just hours ago confirmed the uprising, has issued a statement saying that he beleives the rebels will be defeated before the day is out. He has ordered the army to take whatever actions are necessary to crush the rebellion as quickly as possible.

It is believed that the President has lost some credibility for allowing such a rebellion to occur in the first place. The feeling amoungst average Beastielanders, is that s tronger government is needed to keep the threat of disorder and chaos under control, and prevent future attempts on power by the communists.

The Republic of Demidia has ordered the Victory Battle Group, just stationed of the coast of Demidia, to be relocated to the International Waters near the nation of Beastieland.

If you allow, the 2nd Wing will be launched from the Forrestal Class Carrier - Victory. The Wing will consist of 15 A-10 Thunderbolts. The Thunderbolts will be armed with MK-82 Dumb Bombs. Our fighters will be able to eliminate most of the camps.

Several nations have declared support for the communist rebels. The nation of Deridia has imposed a blockade around the Commonwealth of Beastieland, intervening in the civil was now raging.

Disatisfaction has spread onto the streets. Crowds of pro-communist protesters battle with protesters from anti-communist rallies.

The government seems powerless to act.

We now go live to President Melek who is addressing the Congress.

My fellow countrymen, people of the world. What initially seemed like a local insurrection threatens to break into all out war.

I have met with a delegation from our armed forces, and they told me that they would no longer support my government. So it is in the best interests of our nation that i resign. I have been instructed to surrender power to the People's Party, and their leader Adam Yauch. He will now be president. I wish him better luck in the suppression of this rebellion than i have had.

Shocking news there, the resignation of President Melek. The new President Yauch takes the stand. He's from the People's Party, a fascist party who is vehemently anti communist and closely linked to the military.

I appeal to the nations of the world, to the members of the UN and non members, to help us put down this insidious disease, which threatens our freedom and independence! I ask the international community if it will stand by and watch aggression such as this go by unchallenged. Is no nation safe?

I also ask Prime minister O Reilly to send his jets, and bomb the communist basis outside of the capital. Our troops have been ordered to begin artillery bombardment of buildings in the capital that contain traitors. 5th columnists are being arrested, and our navy has been scuttled in our harbours to prevent any naval landings from thrid parties.

I will crush these Red traitors, and restore order and justice.

Their sole major stronghold lies in the town of Eilat, in the centre of the nations major farming land.

In accordance with the terms agreed with our Hattian friends, we have drawn up a constitution detailing the rights and responsibilities of our citizens.

2)Beastieland is a gay, and bisexual state, providing a safe haven and secure place for gay and bisexual men and women.


3)All citizens have the right to an elected government, to be elected every 4 years, under the system of representative democracy.

4)All citizens have the right to property, whether physical or intellectual, and to the ownership and conduct of business without interference by the law, unless it breaches the constitution

5)All citizens have the right to privacy within their own property

6)All citizens have the right to marriage and family.

7)All citizens have the right to freedom of religion, belief, or lack thereof.

8)All citizens have a duty to protect the commonwealth of Beastieland from enemies within or without, who threaten the constitution.

9)All citizens have the right to remain silent under legal interrogation

10)All citizens have the right to a fair trial by 12 peers, and to be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

11)All citizens have the right not to be subjected for cruel punishments, namely rape, castration, though execution may be administered if approved by a jury and 3 judges.

12)None of the above ammendments can be nullified, ammended, or suspended by any government or body politic.



This new Constitution has been approved by our congress 98 votes in favour, 37 against, and 9 abstaining.

Elections are currently underway. The parties contesting this election will include my own People's Party, the National Party of former president Yauch (now lead by his collegue, the former deputy and now leader of the party, Mr Michael Diamond), the Liberal party, and the Religious Morality Party.

Results will be issued shortly after the poles close, within a short period of time.

I would also like to thank our friends in Demidia, who were willing to fight for our freedom.

Elections are over, and results are in. In a shock result, the People's Party of President Yauch, has won 69 of the 144 seats in Congress.

The National Party of former President Melek, now led by his former deputy Michael Diamond, won 75.

This means a hung Congress, and a coalition government. President Yauch, it seems, will remain President, whilst National party leader Michael Diamond will be Vice President. The two parties have agreed a liberal economic program, to protect civil liberties, and to open peaceful channels with the communists, with the eventual hope of reunification.

President Yauch issued a brief statement earlier, saying he was pleased with the result, and believed that this was the best possible result for Beastieland, in view of it's recent division.
