Official Government Press Release

As of today, Congress has declared Allanea to be in a state of war with the aggressive Communist state of Edolia. However, no forces shall be actually moved to attack Edolia, and anybody acting against Edolian forces without government sanction will be punished. Any export of weapons to ANY Edolian citizens or government agents without government permission is henceforth treason. Crossing the border is also illegal for any reason. The President, under the Edolian War Act 2004, is granted authority to suspend these provisions as he sees fit.

Assume that after this there is an emergency telescreen meeting between various UnAPS heads of state. I'll make a larger response (including a detailed listing of military hardware and preparedness [which will take a little bit of time] when I get back from school.

As all major Edolian government officials are rushed to secure locations throughout the country, military forces are on high alert. Titan gun batteries are swinging into position all around Axackal, targetting Allanean air and missile bases. Some five hundred Titan guns of various sizes have been put on high alert throughout Axackal with over a hundred Titan-IV heavy guns placed on high alert within Edolia proper, targetting Allanea's navy off the Haven Straights. Given the order, forces could be launched at any time. Air patrols over Axackal have been quadrupled and all fighters can be launched within an hour. Ten air wings, consisting of over 8,000 fighters are being redeployed to Axackal and Scandavian States. A formal request has been made to ready all Haven SDI systems in the case of an Allanean nuclear assault.

"I am glad I have your support. Good day daughter. These are trying times." The phone went blank. "Gerald?" The Imperator turned to his aide. "Send out a diplomatic request to our allies. It is time to deploy the might of the UnAPS."

Took a while Allanea. So a war of wills eh?

Director P.H. Visser, Ambassador to UnAPS and the alliance's Director of Membership was rushed into his clothes. Suddenly awake as he was guided to the video conference in his office.

As he arrived, the sternlooking face of a certain well-known elf was already awaiting him on the screen. Behind her the flag of the Dutch Democratic Republic. On the other side of the the split screen he could also see the distinct features on the face of a communist ally...

We believe this is a well-calculated attempt to actually de-escalate the crisis, and as such, will not be declaring war on Allanea. We will, however, continue to maintain forces near Axacacal.

The Republic officially condemns Allenea for their obvious acts to demorilise the UnAPS in the worlds eye, and for their obvious acts to make themselves look better in the world's eye.

We laugh at your pathetic attempts to try to make Edolia, and the UnAPS look bad...

We are disgusted and outraged by Allanea's sudden unprovoked declaration of war on an UnAPS nation, and the continued attempt to lure UnAPS into provoking Allanea to do so. Upon hearing this news of a declaration of war with Edolia, we must condemn Allanea's actions for such cause to declare war. Although we must regret that we cannot send forces as of this moment (since we are participating in another war), we will present our offers to our Edolian allies to ensure them absolute safety.

We must also wonder why Allanea has issued a declaration of war with such manner that a war would not actually occur at the moment. Is it another of Allanea's attempt to lure the UnAPS into provoking Allanea? is it because that the Allanean government feels to insecure to just invade Edolia? We wonder, as we must advise our UnAPS allies to stay on the peaceful side, with maximum prepareness.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have called you here to give an official statement regarding the Allanean President for Life's declaration of war on Edolia.

Firstly, Allanea is an enemy of the republic, and as such the First Republican has no need to go before the Republican Council to approve action against them. The First Republican called me this morning and officially 'relaxed' Allanea into the 'care' of the Retaliatory Guard.........into MY hands, as it were."

He pauses for the collectives gasps and general clamour....

"Secondly, Edolia is one of our closest Allies, we will spare no effort in defence of Edolia and ALL of it's territory. Our worthy ally deserves the full might of the Retaliatory Guard and that is what I have activated.

I have decided however, that while Allanea's declaration of war on our ally would give us more than ample justification to move into Allanea and remove their worthless leaders and return power to the people, we will not yet act. Our forces are in place and will counter attack with no mercy should the Allaneans be foolish enough to challenge the resolve of the Retlailiatory Guard, to challenge MY resolve.

I would further remind the Allaneans, that war, is indeed , hell , and that I am satan, I was there when Allanea killed 60,000 of my brave Guardsmen, it was my back that bore the dagger of Allanean treachery, and if given cause........I will pay it back one thousandfold.

The people of Hattia are amused at the stupidity of the Allanean government. War is not something to be taken lightly. We, at the current time cannot spare many of our conventional forces. As the sun set across Axackal, Edölian military forces are busy. As hundreds of thousands of troops ready themselves for combat, missile silos and fighters are loaded and ready to strike at any time. Massive, heavily-fortified and defended Titan guns, dug into the sides of hilltops swing into position. Formerly facing the sky, they are now fully loaded and target major Allanean targets, especially air bases.

In the mean time, all available military forces from Edölia are being deployed to Axackal, consisting of some few thousand troops.

The Island States is mobilizing its forces for defense purposes, and the majority of its forces are at full alert.

The Island States Embassy on Allanean soil has been ordered to burn all documents and sensitive equipment, and have all personnel evacuated before 0000z tonight.

At this time my ground forces shall deploy to the front while my artillary, air power and batteries target major military and civilan objectives. The all citizens from sniperwolf will be brought back if abraud and special forces and snipers are to begin blck ops once war has begun.

Well, Edolia returned the declaration of war, although this might just be the most pointless waste of the news cycle that will prove to waste my life even more than it will waste of the news cycle. We don't need to make anymore statements on it until someone does something other than say he isn't going to do anything.

James deGritz watches the his allies carefully position their forces in preparation for an Allanean attack, but he doesn't rush about the situation; even if he could it wouldn't achieve much as Iuthia is a fair way away from Haven... none the less small amount of forces were mobilised; no more then a couple divisions for the time being as they wouldn't be able to do more then attack as a reserve in either case.

Meanwhile the Iuthian outpost on the western coast of Edolia was full of activity, the small numbers of forces were being mobilised with all leave cancelled. Husbands waved goodbye to their resident families, occasionally Wives waved goodbye to their loved one, being called for duty in preparation for the worst...

Overall feelings were mixed. Information was limited to need to know in line with Iuthian tradition, moral was good on the whole; jokes were being made about them finally seeing some action, but they were somber jokes and the laughter would fade away... The chances of seeing real combat was getting ever more real as the nation of Allanea pushed once again for the UnAPS allies to attack.

However, after the initial declaration from Allanea, followed by their in-action only went on to provoke more jokes. Firstly the officers took advantage of this, turning it into a moral boosting point. "Their lost" some would say. "They can't find Edolia on the map!" They would continue... soon the Allanean's became the new joke, the new backwards nation at the butt of crude soldiers humour. The laughter didn't fade; afterall, why should it? The Allanean's have constantly pushed to get UnAPS to start a war they didn't really care about. They played "Propergander" radio in Edolia, the soldiers would listen and know it was propergander... it was so blatant; they knew nothing of Edolia yet they mocked them for their ways. Another example was the statues of their fallen criminals... what honorable nation would errect a monument to teanager who would kill innocents? Clearly the soldiers didn't need the words of their officers to tell them how messed up Allanea is... they had seen all the proof they needed.

Now it was time to defend their allies from an aggressor, one who alludes themselves that their right to guns is universal, that any nation that isn't run like them is illigitimate. Perhaps it would never happen, you never know, perhaps their leader would learn that their plan had failed and UnAPS was more united then ever before. Perhaps... for men can dream of peace...

We will support any move that the Edolia makes. You have the full support of Ilek-Vaad and of the Retaliatory Guard. Whatever move your worthy soldiers make we will make with you. OOC: The forces stationed in Axackal are now moving back to within inches of the border with Allanea.

Mintar's military has been put on a renewed statement of alert. Available intel on Allanea's military positions has been called up and plans have been drawn for massive airstrikes of Allanean airbases and radar sites. Troops have also been mobilized to be deployed to Axackal if necessary. No forces have been deployed, however.

Officially, Mintar condemns the unjustified and unprovoked actions of Allanea; if any Allanean forces are deployed against Edolia, we will have no choice but to respond in kind. Mintar and UnAPS have been very patient with you Allanea; you have been given more than a fair warning.

GM condemns this act of instigation on the part of Allanea, and can no longer sincerely back it in any conflict. Any remaining GM troops in Allanea will be pulling out immediately.

The Island States Legislative Body has followed the suggestion of President Rick Rivera. It has declared war on Allanea, giving the President the ability to deploy troops to defend Axackali.

Lashira Vladonski had only been leading the nation for a few weeks, and it was a good thing the Getczechen had passed legislation to boost the military, but unfortunately it was too late. As Prime Minister, Lashira knew that she must take advantage of the situation to show everyone that she was capable of being a leader. She had already scheduled a press conference, and was also planning to send a message to Allanea and the UnAPS. A public declaration by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also underway.

She walked down the halls of the Blått Hus, about two hours after the declaration of war, and led her staff to the press room. There were already a dozen or so reporters seated, and television cameras were rolling. Newspaper photographers were in position, and as soon as Prime Minister Vladonski entered the room, they began clicking.

She nodded gravely to the reporters in the room. "My fellow countrymen and women, the gravest moment in our history so far is under way. Allanea, a rogue nation of hypocrisy and great ignorance, has officially declared war on our dear ally of Edolia. As most of you know, Edolia is one of many in the UnAPS, the great alliance we claim membership to.

"About two weeks ago, on my inauguration day, I had proposed great new reforms for our military. Fortunately, those reforms passed in the Getczechen, but the bad news is that it is too late. We will not have made our military the best it can be by the time Edolia calls for our help. However, I have prepared a reorganization project for about a quarter of the active military force, which numbers around 150,000 troops. These troops, as well as armored, air, and naval units will help secure Scandavian States (if help is needed there), Edolia, and primely Axackal.

"My fellow Lietuvs, this is a grave moment in history. I realize that this is the first time we will be involved in a large-scale conflict. Even though Allanea has not made troop movements are any other provocative measures after the war declaration, it is surely imminent. Therefore, I encourage you to support each other as you always have, and we can pull through this. Let us prove to the world that we are a force to be reckoned with, militarily and socially."

She walked out of the room, taking no questions. Lashira headed to her office to send off several communiques.

If Allanea attacks any member of the UnAPS, we must advise that your nation will suffer greatly for its reckless attempts to destroy the credibility of our alliance.

The recent actions taken by Allanea are truly deplorable and disgusting. Lietuveska has no tolerance for nations that attempt to upset the natural stability of peace, and Allanea is no exception. If Allanea attacks or harms any of our allies, we will not hesitate to strike back with shocking force.

The Assembly of Copiosa Scotia has voted unanimously to come to Edolia's aid and declare war on Allanea. The First Free Republic Fleet will sail for the Haven in a matter of hours, and 272,000 soldiers of the 2nd Army will be deployed to Goobergunchia over the next few weeks.

In kind, the Parliamentary Republic of Lietuveska has declared war upon Allanea. The forces listed above are being prepared to be sent to key locations immediately. Over the coming weeks, they will be sent to Scandavian States, Axackal, and Edolia. Their purpose is to defend our allies from any possible aggression by Allanea.

You may want to note, Emperor Stewart, that we are not the ones declaring war here. We would advise you to be quite clear to your ally that the use of any nuclear weapons, including but not limited to tactical nuclear weapons; will not be tolerated.

We are currently in the opinion that the Allanea government can't seem to make it's mind up about what it wants, but it is clear that they are not interested in peace despite all efforts to calm down this situation by allies from both sides... constantly we are being called the "aggressor" by the Allanea government yet I beleive only few naive nations have beleived this blatant lie thus far.

None the less I beleive the peace process that Allanea's ally started has been damaged severly by Allanea themselves; the UnAPS allies had pulled back their additional border defences so that talks could take place... such talks have now been rejected by Allanea. If anyone can halt this madness it's going to have to be Allanea.
