OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
The Empire of Layarteb today tested a new version of the MIM-104 Patriot PAC-3 missile. The previous version, the MIM-104G Patriot PAC-3 REM, which stands for range-enhanced missile, has been surpass now by the MIM-104H Patriot PAC-3 REM-ER, which stands fro range-enhanced missile extended-range. The MIM-104H weighs in at 1,847 lb. 847 lb. more then the G model. The missile has a maximum ceiling of 180,000 feet and can engage targets as far away as 155 miles. Minimum range is set at 1 mile and minimum altitude at 200 feet. This version utilizes the same hit-to-kill warhead as the PAC-3 missile but incorporates a solidified ECCM system that is second to none and a guidance improvement such that it may use imaging infra-red, like that of the AIM-9X Sidewinder, and the same radar guidance as the PAC-3. Each missile costs $7.5M and a single launcher can carry eight of them. The Mach 5.5 missile is top of the line in air defense and also serves the ABM role against theater launched missiles.
Amid war with Dnalkrad, the successful test of this system is essential to the moral defeat of the enemy. The missile is being deployed in Patriot sites around Layarteb and in Dnalkrad where the EOL has set them up already. Each site, containing sixteen launch vehicles has four launch vehicles for MIM-104F Patriot PAC-3 missiles, which are standard baseline PAC-3 missiles, eight launchers for the MIM-104G, and four launchers for the MIM-104H.
With the introduction of this version all PAC-2 missiles are being withdrawn from service. The version in service is the MIM-104E Patriot PAC-2 GEM. Only MIM-104F, G, and H missiles defend Layarteb in terms of Patriot systems.
