OOC: 2 aerospace developments(ATTN: Raysia)

Raysia, #2 is the radar system we've worked out

1) By using the ability to produce artificial diamonds to produce fiberoptics, we can now stop some of the damage from anti-aircraft weapons. We consider this a temporary solution and we are willing to pay for information concerning a better means of stopping anti-aircraft lasers.

2) To combat the wave of radar cancelling jammers that have recently flooded the aerospace market, RelicArms brought you a gridded 'Process of Elimination' radar system capable of detecting craft by the fact that they don't have radar returns. The next step is much more tricky. Certain countries have developed radar cancelling equipment advanced enough to make a false return signal that looks like empty air. Our solution comes in the:

Cascading, Self-Cancelling Doppler Effect, Gridded Radar*deep breath*
In our original gridded radar arrangement, a target was located by 2 numbers, sphere grid(the box on the sphere), and range. This worked fine on everything but the most advanced radar cancellers because they could fill in the blank space they left that marked them as a target. We sent out 1 beam, and they gave us 1 return. Now we have to take it a step further and grade on 3 numbers, sphere grid, x range grid, and z range grid. To demonstrate a little:
http://web.unbc.ca/hpc/img/sphere_grid_1.gif
Each one of those boxes is a separate set of radar frequencies. We send 6 beams to each box, and through a combination of cancellation effects triggered by the doppler effect, only 2 beams come back. When a next generation radar jammer gets hit by all these signals, it sends all of them back, but the doppler effect is reset because of the change in source, meaning all 6 beams are bounced back. Even though it sends back what would normally be thought of as a return from empty air, the presence of the extra beams means that something altered them, because in natural empty air only 2 of the beams would make it back.

This does require a lot of calculations on the part of the computer, meaning not all nations will be able to implement this system, however it doesn't require much in the way of changing radar antennae, so it can be a simple software upgrade for many. This tech will go on sale at our storefront soon.

OOC: What tech level is this?

(you don't need to put ooc tags in this thread; its an ooc thread, yeah baby, yeah!)

With a powerful enough computer, <2020. Its basically to counter all the gay radar fooling stuff people are cramming onto dogfighters all of a sudden.

(I had to make this up from scratch damit! If someone steals this its going to be nuke time IRL)

OOC: How do you come up with these? You seem to churn out a new innovation ever couple of weeks

Dang man, you done a great job.

I assume you didn't think of this yourself, but if you did.. holy crap, man!

What would such a radar suite look like on a fighter, how big would it be, how much would it weigh, where would it be located, how many different pods would be needed, and what did you want in trade?

OOC: But the OOC tags are cool ;) Could this be, say, 2010 and under tech? I would love to implement this system.. pay handsomly too ;)

NO OOC TAGS THIS IS AN OOC THREAD  VIOLATERS WILL HAVE THEIR CAPS LOCK KEYS HAMMERED IN!

I'm basically the closest thing this forum has to the ghost of Nikola Tesla. Not that I have imprisoned in a magnetically sealed jar on my desk or anything. What are you all looking at?

In all seriousness though, I guess its my ability to logically go through problems. I take a problem and go looking for a tech that can solve it, if I find one but it doesn't work for some reason(like no possible material could build it or somesuch nonsense), I go looking for the stuff that will make it work, et cetera, et cetera.

In other words, you guys gotta do more research :-P

OY! In-preview addon to post:

Raysia: It took me all of today until I posted it and most of last night to do, but this idea is mine.(what a waste of spring break!)

It can use roughly the same transmitters and equipment(standard radome). The problem comes with the vast amounts of calculations a computer would need to do to get anything useful, solved by the fact that I use cold plasma computers(close to superconducting baby!).

You already have this tech(cept the computers but I'm sure you could get something pretty well done with supercooled standard stuff), as I said I gave it to you in exchange for your brother system(grr I got ripped off).

Doujin: Well, I just implemented it on a fighter from 2013, but it could be around before that....

I'm still trying to figure out a price

I'm torn between handing it out so dogfighting becomes more prevalent, or keeping it so my dogfighters can pick apart stealth fighters for fun and profit.

We would be very interested in this system for our ships and aircraft.

If you use diamond like carbon (artificial diamonds) as armor, you are breaking Camdean copyright law-I have a copyright on DLC armor. But then again, it was a tank armor, but still armor nonetheless :P

lol you have 1337 post count, congrats.........

Not as armor, as fiber optics below the armor, they provide absolutely no protection from kinetic damages.

Nvm, then. Please forgive my ignorance.

Umm, what would the point of Diamond armor be?...
07-04-2004, 09:02
Yeah, I know the brother system is a rip-off for this thing lol If you want anything else, just ask.

In the mean time, you've inspired me to start making up my own tech again ^_^ I have so much original stuff in the Capsule Corp tech, but not too much with Raysia. Brother System was mine, but it was based off real-life ideas. The Visorscreen 360x360 helmet viewscreen is a somewhat original idea, and, uhh, let's see... the QAAM launchers... I'm pretty sure no one else sells 100mm machine guns lol... the sky cleaners aren't too original... The Noise Canceller machine is kinda cool, but I dunno if it's original... Oh yeah, and the napalm gun and the Testla rifle..

Other than that... man, I need to start thinking up new stuff :) Though it's kinda hard to do that and stay in the 2006-2020 realm
