Leaders and citizens of the world, the Kelonian Federation is pleased to announce it is scaling down it's nuclear programme in accordance with new internal policy. The weapons we have already developed will be retained, as disarming them would constitute a massive waste of research time and funds, given the amount we put in to produce them, but we will be doing very little research into designing and producing this sort of weapon, if at all.
This reduction in the production of nuclear weapons is in accordance with Kelonia's policy on unconventional weaponry, which states they will only be produced when specifically designed to reduce civilian deaths and casualties in both the current and the future. Nuclear weapons offer no such guarantee, and so fall outside the range of the policy's charter, and therefore will no longer be officially allowed to be produced.
