Today, at approxamately 1:35 pm, ICMC troop transports began the airlift removing ICMC Marines from Markovian bases. Starting just before 2:00pm Markovian time, and ending a little after 5:00, the full removal of Marines was a sudden switch from previous administrations who believed that occupation was the only way to continue to keep the peace in the war torn nation.

Marines were happy to go home, yet suspicous of the sudden reversal of policy. Several believed that this was only a restationing to Cambodia, where ICMC Marines recently took the capitol city of Phonm Penh, and therefore secured Imitoran holdings in South East Asia. The SEA campaign had been lacking slightly due to the spread of troops throughout teh world.

As the story is reported, images of MV-22Is and MH-60Is are shown, with Marines loading up and leaving their occupation centers behind.

However, no one knows if this is a full return of the Markovian government to power.

Pacific Ocean, 6:03pm, Markov Time
ISSN 43 Newport, Virginia V Attack Sub

The black Virginia V class attack submarine held in international waters just at a depth of 95 feet. From this level, operational launch of sea-to-surface weapons were go, and, as if already predicting the actions of the sub, full alert status had been ordered, and the sub was running silent.

The sonar absorbant material made the submarine invisible to most forms of sonar, and the already quiet sub was even quieter with its plasma, not nuclear, based reactors. It moved at a very conservative four knots, and was recieving target information from the KVA-1122 satalite that hovered just outside the atmosphere.

At 6:10pm, the Captain recieved his attack orders, and the sub rose to just 50 feet bellow surface. He then orderd all missles tubes flooded and opened, and at 6:15, the sub ripple-fired 26 Mk.XVII Block Three Warhammer cruise missles, all armed with plasma yeild warheads.

13 were aimed at major Markovian cities, and the other 13 aimed at major G-Corp cities. The use of variable yeild plasma based warheads would allow a variable degree of explosion, from small 1,000lb warhead to an explosion akin to a 500MT nuclear weapon, without the nasty side affects as fallout.

As the final missle left the launch tube, the submarine desceneded to 400 feet, and, still running silent, slid back towards APTO territorial watters at just under 75knots.

In Imitora, anti-air systems and missle interceptor systems were activated, and several wings of F/A-65 Ravens were put on imidiate alert. The M1335 Interceptors made even the most advanced Patriot systems look like slingshots, and they actively scanned the air for targets.

Of the 15 wings of Ravens, five were ordered in air at all times, and through thier Athena jamming systems, were perfectly invisible to all forms of radar. The further adaptation of the so called 'GhostSkin' made them invisable to the naked eye.

Over Imitora, the 5th Interception fleet, consisting of five Northampton modular assault frigates, five Ormsby class arsenal frigates, three Phikeia class patrol ships, and three Infinity class interceptors moved into a geosyncronous orbit.

Further, an Exemplary class destroyer released the proper chemical compounds into the atmosphere devoid space, preparing the ultra deadly NovaCloud antishipping weapon. The NovaCloud, once activated, would be able to destroy entire fleets of enemy ships.

Markov became unexpectanly engulfed in flames as the Imitorian cruise missiles hit. Most casualties were civilian...... The Markovian government was notified immediatly.

The Markovian secretary of defense ran franticly down the hall of the Presidential building in Sparta. The building, though not directly hit by the cruise missile had sustained some damage.

"Mr. President! We were just attacked by the Nation of Imitora! There is a VTOL waiting outside. We need to get you to a secure location."

President Hein followed her and some marines to a landing pad behind the building.

"How did this happen?! Why didn't our anti missile systems take out the missiles?" Hein yelled.

"Apparently they caught us off guard sir. We weren't on alert."

"So....where do we stand?"

"Well we are recieving reports that New Bethesda, New Geneva, Markov City, and the islands have also been hit."

"Good lord....I thought this was over...."

Hein looked out the window of the ship. He wondered about G-corp briefly then became pensive.

-Copperhead dropship en route to classified Markovian installation-

The ship began to gradually loose altitude as it decended beneath the clouds. The pilot sounded the alarm that signaled the end of the trip.

Hein, the Secretary of Defense, and a few marines stepped of the dropship onto a rocky landscape. As Hein surveyed the landscape, his eyes fixed upon an elevator shaft mounted in a slab of granite.

A marine took the lead and said "This way Mr. President"

They stepped into the shaft and an automated elevator began to decend at an alarming rate. There was a soft "ping" sound as the doors opened. The marinein charge stepped off the elevator and said, "Welcome to Base 88."

The facility was massive. Hein was awestruck. "How could the governemnt build a facility this massive without him knowing?" he thought.

The Secretary of Defense saw his confusion.

"Base 88 wwas completed several years ago, right after the Markov- New Empire war. It serves as a secret military base of operations for the entire nation. " She was interrupted by one of the system managers.

"Mr. President, the Markovian Battlenet is online. "

The system manager lead Hein to large office.

"This will be your home until this conflict settles down sir. You can contact any wing of the military from this office."

Hein left his new office and went in search of the Secretary of Defense. As he walked he noticed the lack of security of Base 88. The voice of the system manager he had met earlier came up over the intercom.

"President Hein requested at the Central Managment Platfrom!"

Hein followed the signs to the CM platfrom. When he arrived he found the Secretary of Defense, the marines, and some system managers.

The Secretary noted his arrival at the platfrom and turned around.

"Mr, President, we have a few updates for you. We've brought national defense system up to high alert. And we are readying ground MAC batteries to defend again an Imitorian space offensive. So far, civilian casualties are estimated at 20,000. The RMSF (Republic of Markov Space Forces) is on full alert and is standing-by. We have recieved conformation that G-corp has also been hit. There are no military casualties, but I recommend that we evacuate military facilities as they could be the next targets."

Hein gave a look of satisfaction to the Secretary.

"Godamnit.....get me Olsen on VIDCOMM. I need to speak with him."

"Thats the other thing, we find can't him, I think we should presume he's dead."

"It would be maddness to mount an offensive now so let's wait and see what Imitora does. In the mean time, I want you to mobilize fighter squadrons to patrol the skies, and get 5 of our infantry and armored divisions ready in the case that Imitora does a land invasion."

"Yes Mr. President."

"Well, Mr. President, do we have the order?" asked a Joint-Chief.

"No, wait, position the arsenal ships. Tell the SCHAF commanders to keep below crush depth. I want to see what Markov and G-Corp think they can do. They can do this the easy way or the hard way," replied President Jack C. Walter.

"Our satelites haven't picked up any launches. Our STARGUARD systems are online, the Hurricane embankments are on high alert, and the HellCat Anti-Missile Network is on active scan.
We await your orders."

"You shall have them soon enough. If we don't get any action within a few more hours, I think a healthy dose of military base destruction would be in order. Tell the Hydra's to wait with the SCHAF's. Keep me informed. Oh yeah, and don't let them launch anything... anything. Keep an eye on their transports too. I have a hunch that they're gonna try to go on a last minute shopping spree."

Pacific Ocean, 5:10pm, Markov Time

The new assault fleet consisted of four of the Virginia V, each armed with 26 plasma yeild cruise missles designed to fly at low altitudes, using the earth to hide from anti missle weapons. All four had a seperate target with their 26 missles, and were at launch depth.

At 5:15, teh doors opened, and missles shot forth. Twenty six were targeted at military bases, another 26 at airports, and another 26 at radar instilations. The final 26 shot low over the ocean towards Markovian ports to take out shipping.

After launch, the subs sank back into the deep to wait for further orders.

As the missiles were launched some patrolling FX-78 UCAV squadrons picked them up on radar.

The FX-78s slammed into mach 7 to try to intercept some of the low flying missiles. There were, in all 40 UCAVs that scrambled to trail the Imitorian missiles.

The UCAVs rapidly lost altitude at high speeds. They litterely came down on top of the missiles and destoyed them. They destroyed all but 22 of the targets which continued to scream towards their targets.

Hein listened to the Battlenet.

"How are these missle getting through?" He asked.

"It seems they have some submarines stationed just outside Markovian waters. We could attack them but we don't know what else they have there."

"What are our military casualties?"

"The bases that were hit had been mostly evacuted anyways, but we lost a good portion of our 312th Armored Division. Mostly civilian aircraft were destroyed. Our major loss, however, was our main Supercav research facility. It has been completely destoyed."

"Ok, evacutate the remaining military bases and get more fighters on patrol."

"Oh, and another thing, Admiral Gates just arrived to Base 88. He has a few ideas of his own on how to deal with Imitora."

The missles screamed towards their targets...however 10 of the Super MAC cannons were on low alert and immidietly targeted the missles woever...only 4 of them were destroyed, the rest of th 9 hit there targets dead on...engulfing their targets in a firey roar...

the Defense minister Orson M. Bigot, raced down the halls like a mad man trying to reach Bean's office...

"Sir, we were just attacked by Immatorian cruise missles...we need to get you to a secure location for furthure updates and safety..."

President Bean and Orson were led to the Citron Light gunship located in back of the estate...escorted by 8 of their B-4 special ops soldiers...

"How the hell did the=is happen and why?? I thought that we had a peace treaty going over or something..."

"well sir as always our base defences were only at 1/3 of their normal power and the peace treaty seams to have failed..."

"So........Whats happening right now??"

"Well sir we have gotten reports that Markov has also been baraged with the exact same type of missles that we were but their missle defense systems were not as alert as ours thus they got hit harder...resulting in aabout 20,000 civilian deths in markov and approximately 14,000civilians in G-corpian deaths..."

"Where else have we been hit..."

"reports are still coming in but we have confirmed that Bolsova, Stalingrad, and Otoha have been hit the hardest along with some lesser cities but nothing serious..."

"Sorry sir...I can't hear you the engines are too loud i will talk when we land..."

But of course Bea knew that he could here...he just didn't want to talk about it yet/or here...He began to wonder how markov was doing but then looked out the window and saw the city of Otoha burning and buildings crushed and turned into ruble...

The sharklike forms of the two Angelus class subcarriers and the 6 WelleKrieger Striker subs were odd among the waves, rarely were the subs ever surfaced. But they still needed the databurst feed from the satellites, and as it was recieved, they submerged, 1000 miles from Markov.

The 6 WelleKrieger had a special cargo. Rather than their escort subfighters, they carried what looked like underwater ICBMs, and that's what they were. They were ordered to attack Markovian naval bases with the new weapons. The twenty four SICMs (Supercavitating Intercontinental Cruise Missiles) , or "Sic 'ems" as they were called, carried Plasma Yield Warheads that had the effect of ground zero at a multimegaton bomb, without the wind or radiation. The missiles began slamming to the equivalent of Mach 1.5 above sea level as their rocket engines roared, sending them under the waves. As they were underwater, no missile defences could touch them. When they neared the coasts, their final boost engines would kick in, and they would climb above the waves, traveling the last mile to the navy bases airborne.

As the order was given, 80 LAEM's (Low altitude electromagnetic missiles) were launched from a BlackEagle arsenal ship, 40 upon each capital of Markov and G-Corp. As the missiles streaked in, very low over the ocean and hills, their targets were aquired. A few minutes later, the missiles activated their one charge EMP effect, essentially destroying all active integrated circuts within a 5 mile radius around each capital headquarters. From deep underwater, a similiar sized barage of SCLAEM's (SuperCav) were sent into Markovian ports and naval bases.

The FX-78 squadrons again noticed imcoming objects. They had an early response this time. They came in ahead of House Corino missiles this time and manged to take out a good portion of them.

Six missiles remained after the FX-78s were done with them. They continued their course to Sparta.

Admiral Gates stood in front of the holo image. Even he didn't know what to do. He turned and looked at Hein who seemed to be in the same situation.

The dropship finally began to make a decent approach, but in the strangest area...in the middle of NOWHERE...

"I thought u said that we would be going to a military complex..."

Bean stepped where he said to and was greeted by the ground shaking and beginning to sink..but it wasn't sinking it was lowering like an elavator...

as Bean went down he came upon windows and he soon saw what kind of a base this was...a research and military one...so they DID take him to a military facility...no sooner had he thought this then a little retinal scanner pooped out and the elavator stopped to a hault and a womans voice came on and said..."please put one eye on the retinal scanner please..."Bean did so...then the voice came on again"thank you...access granted to the level 2 security clearence of 5...."so Bean went through 5 more security clearences and finally reached the ground level and was met by the commanding officer by the looks of him...

Waitkus looked over the security reports. "It appears our allies are jumping in now. I hate when this happens. I assume they'll want to share some of the rewards." She mumbled an obscenity, but decided to ignore it. If NE, HC, and Illior forces went to far ahead of schedule, a schedule that was deadly secret, then she would deal with them properly.

She had ordered more subs out into the water, and now had a full twenty operational submarines in the water. Enough of the variable yeild plasma weapons destroy a continent.

She had ordered another launch, satalite overflights had picked up several Copperheads making random launches and drops, and the launch and drop points were the next targets.

Withing seconds after offering the order up, the plasma yeild warheads streaked out into the sky towards the originiating and final destination (base 88) that he copperheads had been tracked to.

Thirty missles in all stained the skys black with their smoke trails as they shot towards Markov.

Another four set of 26, with the same targets that had been assigned secondary in Markov (ports, military basses, airports, production facilities) now streaked towards G-Corp, their plasma explosive set to offer the same amount of destruction as a 10,000 lb HE bomb.

Launch the SCIBM's at G-Corp as well. We need to end this before it starts."

Within seconds, 50 SCIBM's (With NLDS (Nonlinear Delivery Systems which randomize their trajectory so that they are nearly impossible to hit)) were launched from multiple submerged locations. The SCIBM's flew with unerring acuracy towards G-Corp Military Bases. Approximately a mile and a half from shore, the missiles departed from the water, and flew very low over the hills towards their targets.

From high orbit space located over House Corino, 20 K10 Killer Satelites powered up their railguns, and prepared to launch a deadly barage of plasma at the G-Corp Space Fleet. Targeting only their propulsion devices, the K10's fired several hundred shots at frigates, fighters, and ODP's. Following that, the missile sections of STARGUARD fired a plethora of Missiles, Anti-Satelite Shrapnel Missiles (ASSM's), and EMP's at the satelites orbiting G-Corp.

From yet more orbiting devices, microwaves were blasted over the cosmos at the fleet. Any computers, guidance systems, or IC's in the area would be heavily damaged, if not destroyed.

Markov/G-Corp, its up to you if you want to ignore teh Illior and other attacks on yoru nation, I'm plannign on doing so. While President Hein and the Admiral discussed battle plans, the Secretary of Defense and some of the system mangers were studying the situation and managing the nation.

One of the system managers began to yell frantically. "Imitorian missiles have targeted Base 88 from the southeastern part of Markov. We won't be able to intercept them! It looks like cruise missiles!"

The head system manager turned pale.

Hein looked up from the holopanel.

"So, what does this mean? How did they find this location?"

The system manager turned and looked at Hein and the Admiral.

"Uh...they must have noticed the Copperheads... I don't think theres any need evacuate. Mr. Pre- Hein cut him off.

"How much time before they hit?"

"Uh, judging from their current velocity...about 7 minutes."

Hein's face became very serious.

"Notify the rest of the military....tell them that we will be "out of contact with them for a while."

"The structure should hold together, seeing as we're almost 1 mile underground. I recommend that The President be moved deeper into the base."

Uh Imitora, as I was the one the G-Corp was threatening for informing the APTO and NE about the Markov/G-Corp attack, I assume that means that I have some part in this. (If I'm wrong, let me know.) The facility shook as the plasma-yield cruise missiles slamed into the ground above Base 88. And alarm signaling that parts of the structure had been breached.

Hein, Admiral Gates, the secretary of defense and the system managers heard the alarms, but couldn't do anything about it. They were hunkered down in the deepest chamber of Base 88 hoping it wouldn't be breached.

The central managment platform was instantly destoyed as it was one of the highest points.

-Markovian MSF-1 Zeus carrier in geosynchronous orbit over Markov-

Upon recieving the news that Base 88 had been hit by Imitora, Captain Hunter made a vital decision. He ordered the launch of two squadrons of RSB-200L orbital bombers to bombard House Corino. He knew better than to attack Imitora.

The "Longsword" squadrons left the carrier, established a satilite link and slammed on the M-VASMIRs. They accelerated to mach 25 heading towards House Corino.

Soon after they left, a squadron of MF-69 air/space superiority fighters left the carrier to serve as an escort to the Longswords.

As the ships entered the space over APTO territory, their sensors went wild. Strange readings came over teh computer screen, but nothgin could be determined from the data. It was as if someone had unplugged a sensor or somethign of the like.

The Exemplery Class destroyer picked up the Markovian ships entering the space over HC, and activated the nanite control pannel. Within seconds, the ships were thrust into the center of a waht would appear to many as a star.

The ships, at the center of the 'explosion' were put into a situation ten times densor than the densest star known to man, enough to crush even the strongest ship one hundred times over. The heat as well was more than any ship in the Imitoran Space Navy could handle as well, and therefore enough to deal with the Markovian forces. The center of the 'star' was five times hotter than the sun.

The NovaCloud disapated, and a Phikeia moved forward slowly to observe what, hopefully, should be empty space after the star appeared than disapeared.

"Ok...let's get started" Bean said "enable ALL Super Obital MAC cannons...also inform the space fleet to be on the ready...inform the ODP to activate all anti-ship weaponry and to activate all super magnetic acceleration cannons and magnetic acceleration cannons...tell the commanders to do what ever they need to be ready...inform armies Dragon, Badger, and cobra armies to be on homeland defense...and pixie army to be on the ODP just incase of a breach..."

"Yes sir, armies in or are going into place now, ODP enabled, all super MAC cannons enabled..."

"Ok thank you inform me on any and all updates...also what's going on in markov..."

"Well sir we are not entirely sure but Markov has close to no military installations what so ever...they are just about dead sir..."

"Lt., what's the Bravo Delta Alpha on the Sic 'em strikes?"

"Sir, all targets have been hit, with high percentage casualty and damage rates."

"Excellent. Now what's stopping all these cruise missiles?"

"Well, reports show Markovian FX-78 UMFs attacking them... I don't believe Imitoran missiles have evasion manuver and ECM capability like our Wolvies do."

"So someone's got to clear the skies. I want a full strike on the location of the latest Plasma strikes. If intel was right about the Markie bunkers, we're gonna need extra firepower."

The Captain strode down the bridge to the air commander, who was busy watching the reports of the action.

"Sir." he said as he stood and saluted.

"At ease, Dredowski. You've seen the latest PYW strikes?"

"Yessir."

"Well, check out that one," said the Captain as he pointed to the blip on the LCD screen.
"It's got unusually high EMS readings. We think that's something major. Markie rathole, maybe."

"Yeah, and they also got plenty of airbases between us and them. Not like that's a problem for our boys."

"Good. Load up 12 F/S-39, and 12 F/SA-15 for a strike mission. I'll call SAC. Time to clear our way in."

EB-9 "Dove One One"
Somewhere 2000 miles north of Markov, 60,000 feet ASL

The 13 EB-9s were evil looking aircraft, to say the least. Huge engines, batlike noses and angular wings and fuselage gave them a hellish look, but not as hellish as the payload they carried. 12 "Wolverine" Cruise missiles, each with HARM loadouts and HEFrag warheads, sat in the bay of each except one, waiting for a chance to spring to life. As the aircraft reached the 1000 mile mark, they lowered to 35,000 feet. As they entered Markovian SAM range, they went to 10,000, quite low for aircraft of their size.

They activated Athena and their Adaptive Camoflauge skins as they raced towards Markov at Mach 2.5. As they waited for Markovian SAMs to light them up with their radars, the lead deployed 12 Screamer aircraft, each making a huge target of themselves for anything within 500 miles, looking like every little one look like a fleet of B-52s on radar. Markovians would have to be fools to try and not engage such targets. The pilots waited.

Within seconds of the initial MAC cannon power up proceedures predetermined attacks were carried out by the orbital bombardment systems over House Corino. Several hundred more railgun (plasma yield) shots were fired and for the second time, all signs of any of the G-Corp space fleet surviving appeared grim.

At the same time, the modified chambers of 20 STARGUARD satelites realeased the newest in space-to-ground destruction. Specially designed uranium warheads were unleashed traveling at near mach 55 speeds. The modern equivalent of a JDAM, these weapons were built with one thing in mind, penetration, because each missile was also equipped with a transponder. As each missile exploded, a swarm of plasma yield weaponry would tail in behind it. The "1-2 Punch delivery". While the uranium warhead would blast a crater into the ground, the plasma release would cut through any underground structures like a knife through butter.


OOC- Uh G-Corp, did you ignore my last post. I basically creamed your space fleet. Unless you're gonna RP some sort of anti-missile system, I think you should be reporting some losses.

Since there hadn't been anything hearnd from Base 88 in over 24 hours, Admiral Stillen was next in command. He secretly opposed the "Black Hand" governement, but knew if he voiced his opinion he could be killed.

He stood in the command sector of the OCS with Captain Willard and the command mangers. In the middle of the room was a giant holo- image of Markov that displayed all current hotspots. The OCS was on full combat alert. Defenses had been activated and everything was in general more active than usual.

A small portion of the nothern coast of Markov began to blink red on the holo-image. Stillen knew what it meant but didn't know who it was. He called a command officer over to look it.

"Uh, it looks like aircraft...but I can't be sure....the radar image is kinda wierd....really strong...ground defenses in that area have gone crazy...

Markovian SAM ground batteries began to fire on the New Empirian missiles. Command was instantly notified and two squadrons of F/A-67s were dispatched to check it out.

"This is Omega 1 to command. We are en route to targets. No visual yet. I repeat no visual yet."

The Firestorms rose to 15,000 feet and increased speed to mach 2.

"This is Omega 2. I see SAM fire below us."

"Omega 1 to all! Drop 5,000 feet!"

Omega squadron dropped into the clouds followed closely by Beta squadron.

"Omega 1 to all! Still no visual!"

"Omega 1 to all! I see cruise missiles!

"Omega engage targets with full force"

Omega squadron dropped down behing the missiles. One Gemeni missile per target was sufficient to destroy all 12 of them.

The squadron slowed to mach 1.8 and flew straight.

"Omega 1 to command! All targets neutrelized! Returing to Miyria base!"

The pilot of Omega 1 turned his head to activate the VTOL boosters briefly to gain a little altitude when he noticed something out of the corner of his visor. He saw a small wingtip vortice that seemed to be appearing out of mid-air. He turned away and looked again to make sure he wasn't seeing things. As he looked more closely he saw blur in the sky...almost like a ripple. He turned on his heat scanners. Sure enough it was an aircraft.

"Omega squadron come in left hard! "Follow my lead!"

Omega 1 veered away from his target then turn right at it and fired his AA gatling guns. The target became visible as the bullets hit it. Soon Beta squadron joined in. More of the aircraft were found and fired upon. Command was notified immediatly.

The Super MAC orbital cannons immedietly began firing at the STAR GUARD anti missle systems...the MAC cannons fire out HUGE rods of titanium A aloy at speeds of up to moch 40...they have a firing rate of 1 shell per 5 sec...the only downside to these devastating guns is that they take about 15sec to make an 180 degree turn...also my star ships began deploying the mobile DOLLS which are specially disigned for this situation...what they do is give off a signal that looks like a starship but are actually little floating orbs that take the danger FAR away from my starships...

Stillen, confident that there would be no problem with killing the UCSNE aircraft, turned away from the holo- image. He had an offensive manuever in mind. Without the Captain knowing ordered an attack on House Corino.

Sixty Crossbow 4 cruise missiles left the OCS weapons compartments and streaked down toward the earth. After they entered the atomasphere over the ocean they straightened out horizontally and dropped to an altitude of 2500 feet. They were aimed at major cities, military bases, and air bases. Most were purely explosive, some were EMP, and four were 30 megaton nuclear weapons.

OOC- Uh G-Corp first of all, as of now, you have sustained 2 waves off attacks, both very heavy. See previous posts. So before we can do anything else, you need to post some losses. Severe losses.
Note also that in my first post, I fired a whole barage dedicated to knocking out your SATELITES, so any ODP's or Missile Satelites, or stuff like that would have been targetd. Also, the Microwaves and EMP's did yet more damage.


I fired first, and you can't intercept rail-gun shot. So before we go any further, you need to post for the first round.

The 144 Radar-Seeking missiles all leaped out from their racks, tracking the GPS coordinates that had been collected from the radar tracking. As they screamed in at Mach 8, their sensors tracking them to anything that lit up a radar. Even if the Markie SAM batteries turned of their radar, the location would be remembered, and even mobile batteries on the run would be hunted down by MM Wave Radar. The Screamers were dead, but the hypersonic Wolverines had plenty of fight in them. At this range, they could use their forward swept wings to conduct evasive manuvers, or pop ECM, Chaff, and flares to keep themselves safe from other missiles. They flew towards their targets with the closest things machines had to feral bloodthirst.

The 13 EB-9 had fighterlike manuverability from their MAW and thrust vectoring, and had been manuvering and climbing as the Markovians approached. Their forward HELLADS (High Energy Liquid Laser Area Defense System) pods spat invisible beams of death at the oncoming aircraft, and also engaged missiles. Fragmentation damage began to rip through the aircraft as sections of the AdCam failed, and the M^3 pods (Miniaturized Missile Modules, or Massive Missile Massacres as the crews called them) descended from their rotary bays. This was one of those things the UCSNE was known for- Bomber to fighter kills. The small ATGM sized missiles screamed out at the F/A-67, using LIDAR and EMS guidance that even the most advanced stealth materials couldn't fool. The little SCRAMjet and hydrogen rocket propelled weapons needed only their kinetic energy to rip fighters to shreds, and they angled in with thrust vectoring to do that job well.

Ever put a hot dog in a microwave without poking holes in it first? Microwave radiation can do that to human heads, too. But HC set them to "Fry" and not "Boil", so that means it'll scramble your electronics. Like EMP, but in a controllable beam.

There were 12 Screamer cruise missiles. Screamers are modified Wolverines. But they're dead now, and that's besides the point.

There are 144 Wolverine cruise missiles with HARM warheads. They are targeting the SAM ground batteries at Mach 8. If a large aircraft with a very powerful radar activates its radar, they would go for that, too. But your fighters do not have radars that powerful.

There are about 24 Short Range M^3 Hypervelocity missiles. These are aimed at your aircraft, along with HELLADS lasers.

While Omega squadron was taking heavy hits from the M^3s Beta squadron began to regroup behind the EB-9s. They each tageted the aircraft with Gemeni 2 High Manuever missiles and pulled away to avoid the M^3s.

The remaining fighter increased speed and altitude and again began to fire on the EB-9s with gatling guns. The call for reinforcements was made.

The fighters were relatively fruitless in their attempts to come into gun range of the EB-9s, which were now turning around and heading home at 3 times the speed of sound, their rear, underwing, and forward HELLADS pods plucking missiles out of the sky with the accuracy of their targeting computers, some coming close enough to cause minor engine damage to the rear EB-9. Seconds later, it loosed 48 M^3 missiles, the remainder of it's load, and exploded. Another volley of missiles was released as the UCSNE reinforcements arrived... 24 F-121 interceptors screaming in from above, their Athena and Adcam shielding them well as they made their journey from the carriers. They were armed with 5 Kiloton Plasma Warhead missiles, and 6 flew towards the Markovian fighters, their huge blast radius allowing them to destroy squadrons at a time, whether or not the missile got close.

The sixteen remaining F/A-67s began to scramble and gain speed evading attacks from the F-121s.

Twenty SSIDX-1 Peregrines dropped out from above the clouds at mach 4 to assist the Firestorms. Each Peregrine was armed with 4 Hypervelocity missiles.

Ten of them targeted the escaping EB-9s with the HV missiles and the rest took on the F-121s with the Firestorms.

The combined 60 HELLADS pods of the EB-9s and F-121s ripped many of the HV missiles from the sky, but damaged another EB-9, and then turned on the Firestorms and SSIDX with perfect accuracy from the computers. There was now 12 miles between the UCSNE forces and the Markovian pursuers, more than enough for a PYW strike. The 12 5 Kiloton devices screamed out towards the Markovian fighters, even if they went for decoys, the huge radius of the plasma sphere should have been enough to destroy the aircraft that deployed it. The forward deployed WelleKrieger attack subs could now support the fleeing bombers, as microwave beams and X-Ray lasers lanced out at the Markovian aircraft.

The remaining Peregrines pulled up, increased speed and turned to flee the battle. PYWs took down two more of the aircraft on their accent.

A silence filled the airwaves as the F-121s began to land on the surfaced Angelus class carriers.

"Ah... Negative. No Beacons either."

Over them the 12 EB-9s continued on a course to New Empire, after refueling from a KC-82. They were 500 miles from the NEOS Floating Airbases after a successful mission. After they landed, many imitated fighter pilots and stenciled red, semitransparent SSDIX and Firestorm outlines with spraypaint on their sides.

OOC: Someone wanna tell me what happened? I really dont feel like reading two pages worth of this stuff before my next strike.

OOC: I destroyed huge amounts of Markovian SAMs and AAA, as well as radar sites, in the north area of his nation. I also managed to destroy large amounts of his fighter aircraft.

With the New Empirian forces having taken cars of the three planned strikes in one move, it was time to go ahead and complete the assault on Markov. Without contacting any freindly forces in the area, five Ormsby class Arsenal ships appeared over Markov. One of the captains joked about no freindly forces in the area.

Within minutes, they had launched, per ship, over four hundred of the 30 foot long, 5 foot wide, tungston carbide 'spears', all traveling at near Mach 50 at impact. Before any decent targeting computer could get a fix, they re-folded out back to teh groombridge system, and waited to hear damage reports.

Uh, my space navy is over Markov...you'd have to get through that first.

"What do you mean they fired? You mean to tell me they launched missiles? What do they think we are, defenseless?" replied the President.

Of the 4 30MT nuclear warheads, none survided the barage of SAM, STARGUARD, K10, railgun fire, and ground based micowaves. By concentrating all fire on the signals that appeared on a radiation scan, the nuclear, and two of the EMP missiles were taken out. Soon after that, HCN (House Corino Networks) received a barage of complaints about the lack of tv service in the area. CEO M. Bloom had no explanation. His CIO was speechless.

Of the conventional warheads that exploded (15/60) several military bases and a residential district municipal pool sustained minor to moderate injury. The only serious concequence was a large hole in a regoin that claimed to be "flatter than a pancake", and therefore lost the "flattest place on Earth" contest, and therefore didn't win the 10 Million dollar prize.

Of the K10's 10 were instantly ripped to shreds and 3 mysteriously went off line.

At the same time, all fire power from the orbital systems over House Corino concentrated their fire on the G-Corp Space Fleet. Hundreds of railgun shots, missiles, EMP's, Nuclear Weaponry, and Microwave beams poured into the oncomming ships.

From missiles sites down on Earth, thousands of missiles arose in a massive storm of destruction. 400 ThrallXT Ground to Air Missiles proceeded by 100 DevilCat (Large Signature Radar Attractors designed to attract and intercept anything coming down) flew upward with incredible speed. Meanwhile down over international waters....

The wings of the HCRAN that had mobilized prepared to crush G-Corp to its knees. From the Black Eagles, several hundred waves of SCIBM's poured onto anything that remotely resembled a defense system on G-Corp coast. Several DevilCat missiles were also launched, without target, to fly over G-Corp and see what kind of ground to air defenses were left unscathed.

At the same time, the SCHAF wings that had already mobilized (see original post) powered up and launched their payloads at anything that the DevilCats picked up as anit-aircraft missile sites or batteries. After their munitions were launched, they flew back to a carrier out at sea.

"Admiral, our fighters have returned to base. We did lose a significant amount of them however. We did manage to take down a New Empirian bomber. Conciderable damage has been done to our northern ground defense matrix. UCSNE bombers targeted our Radar facilities, our SAM batteries, and our SSMACs."

The Admiral's face stiffened.

"Any word from Base 88 yet?"

"No sir, I think we should assume that Hein is dead."

The holo-image of Markov in the middle of the room began to blink red. A command manager jumped out of his seat and began to yell.

"Captain, five Imitorian vessels just folded into low orbit over Markov and commenced an orbital bombardment!"

"What did they hit?"

"I don't know, it's hard to tell. They hit alot though. Looks like they used railguns."

"Why didn't we see them?" the Admiral asked.

"They did it too fast. We couldn't get a fix on them fast enough!"

Stillen turned and looked at the Captian.

"I want a VIDCOMM link to ground control immediatly."

The Captain said nothing. He just looked away and signaled one of te Command managers to establish a link.

It took a few seconds, but finally contact was made.

"Admiral, I've made contact with Alpha Base! I'm putting it up on VIDCOMM."

A small LCD screen folded down out of the ceiling and began to filcker. General Turner's face appeared on it.

"Turner, what the hell is going on down there?!" The Admiral said.

The General seemed to be preoccupied.

"It's the goddamn apocalypse down here Admiral! We still don't have any word on casualties, but the systems show that nearly all of Markov has been hit!"

"What about the missile silos? Whats their status?"

"They seem to be intact Admiral. I have to go...but i'll relay you information of the situation when I get it. Ground Command out."

"Ok, put the fleet on full alert! If any more imitorain ships sneak in, destroy them."

The Captian nodded as the Admiral left the command sector.

Everythgin. Each Ormsby has 50 mass drivers, and fired two volleys (takes about 30 seconds to launch a volley), so thats 500 projectiles.

In the Groombridge system, three Exemplary class destoryers prepared for a jump into the Sol system. Weapons were prepared, the hope was that they'd be able to get off the NovaCloud as they did on G-Corp.

The behemoth forms skimmed the waves, the black rounded shapes of two Corinth Dleroes class submersible carriers, the Robert Graystone and Hans Keerwall specifically. Behind them and around them, as well as under them, was the huge carrier battle group. Two Imitora Arsenal ships, loaded with 650 VLS missiles each, were the secondary punch. Although the Markovian Navy was severely crippled, along with their defenses on the coast some 400 miles south of them, the escorts were seen. 8 Cunningham class destroyers, 6 Point Dasch class cruisers, and 8 Tritahl frigates. All were trimarans, sleek, and stealthy. Under them roved the 4 Orca II class submarines. Subfighters and aircraft buzzed around the fleet, on patrol, as the strike group was readied.

The 24 S/A-15 Hurricane were loaded for bear, the new triple finned "Punisher" Guided bombs and "Retribution" Air to ground missiles filling out their strike payload, with MREAM missiles ready. The 24 S/F-39 Storm Riders were being loaded with a mix of M^3 pods, MREAMs, and the famed "Pheonix Slayers", the ultrafast, long range missiles that earned their names from kills in the previous Markovian war. All were now in wetbays, prepared for their strike.

Two hours before...

Ladies and Gentlemen, your mission is an important one. In a few days, a Marine force will be readied for the capture of New Geneva. In a few hours, the Markovian military there will be attacked. We are going to find their eyes and ears, and gouge them out. Along with the hypersonic U/MBF-4 bombers, you are going to hit a series of radars, gun emplacements, and army camps in the area.

The first wave will be the Unmanned bombers, dropping their payload on Markovian airfields and SAM sites. Then you will move in, destroy any Markies sent to intercept, and bomb the living hell out of the Markie Army bases.

I have the utmost confidence in you. I'll turn it to Captain Helman for the details...

The wetbays were filled with waters as the subfighters began their mission. They would piggyback on supercavitating "boosters" to the Markovian coast, just a few miles off of New Geneva. They would then pop out as the last bombs fell on the Markovian SAM sites.

They screamed through the water on their boosters, virtually untouchable by the Markovian Navy or Air force.

"Admiral, we have a VIDSAT fix on a large New Empirian battle group off the northern coast near New Geneva. We suspect a large attack will commence since defenses in that area have been severely weakened." the OCS AI said.

"Ok then...notify ground control. Tell them to launch some Ghostbirds to intercept air targets. As for the battle group, dispatch two Triton arsenal ships from the OCS. Order them to fire on the group with everything they've got." replied Stillen

"Yessir."

The Triton arsenal ships left their docking stations exactly 5 minutes after the orders were given, each with full payloads. They fired their VASMIRs and stationed themselves directly above the New Empirian battle group.

"Admiral, the Tritons are ready to fire on your command." the AI announced.

"Fire."

The two Tritons, each with 75 MAC guns began to fire on the battle group. They each fired 5 volleys within 10 minutes. Huge slugs of depleted uranium traveling at mach 45 rained down on the New Empirian fleet.

"Get a VIDSAT uplink immediatly! I want a damage report!" the Admiral yelled.

The satalites focused on teh Markovian space fleet picked up the firing, and sent off teh go signal. Using a three dimensinal coordinate system, the three Exemplary class destroyers appeared over the Markovian force, and released the space based gas that would be the NovaCloud. In an act that would define Heroism, the Exemplaries activated the NovaCloud system, they themselves in the blast radius of the artificially created star, sacrificing themselves in order to destroy the Markov fleet.

OOC:I seriously doubt you have that many guns on a single vessel... Most ships in Halo are considered huge if they have two or three... And the power requirements limited their firing rate severely. I doubt any vessel still at VASMIR tech levels could provide enough power to accelerate 750 objects to 45 times the speed of sound in 10 minutes. But whatever... Since you're getting vaped, I'll let you go.

The ships began to fire 20 Hypersonic Missiles into orbit at around Mach 10, each 20 PYW megaton devices. These were deisgned specifically for use against space targets, but now they would create a shield of plasma spheres against the mass of closely packed MAC projectiles. The night became day as a series of new suns lit up the area. Several of the objects were knocked off course, the closest one creating a huge wave that damaged a destroyers comm arrays and swept 15 sailors overboard, as helicopter and sub crews raced to save them.

The others burnt up over Markov, and one slammed down on the South coast, creating another wave.

The Markovian fleet, made up of about 50 ships was instantly destroyed by the Novacloud. The OCS, critically damaged, began to fall towards earth.

Two marines ran into the ravaged command sector.

"Admiral, theres still time to evacuate! Follows us to access junction 2A!" they yelled.

Stillen, still slightly awestruck from the size of the explosion that had vaporized his fleet, followed. The OCS shook as the central reator began to go critical.

Stillen stopped. He had to notify ground control...there was no time. He contiued to follow the marines. They climbed into the last escape pod. One marine took the pilots seat the other buckled up and prepared for launch.

The pod's main booster fired briefly to propell it out of the docking station. It flew away from the disintegrating OCS towards Markov.

"General, the OCS and the fleet has been Novaclouded by Imitora. The fleet was destroyed and the OCS is severely damaged and is falling towards the planet." Colonial Millard said.

"What about Stillen? Did he make it out?"

"We're not sure."

Just then a large flash lit up the night sky directly above them. The OCS's reactor core had blown as it hit the atomosphere.

"What the fu** was that?!" General Turner yelled.

"IT WAS THE OCS SIR!"

"Goddamnit."

The general stepped into his tent. And gestured for the Colonial to follow.

"Colonial, we have to leave this location. We have no satellites anymore which means we have no idea when there will be an attack again. We have to scramble the entire military. The only way I see to deal with an invading force this is to use guerilla warfare. Don't concentrate to many troops at one place and stay on the move. Don't talk about any troop movements over the Battlenet incase the enemy is listening in. Judging from what they did in the last war.. and their tactics so far it looks as if they will try to take New Geneva and parts of the northern coast first. Don't be near there when they land. Take the SOTF teams and try to cut off their supply lines once they come deeper inland. Do you understand me?"

"Yessir!"

"Good, tell Johnson we'll move out in two hours."

"Yessir!"

The 15 shapes looked more like flying saucers than anything else. They were similar to the American Hypersoar design, but painted in jet black. They were traveling around Mach 10 as they screamed through the limits of the atmosphere on their scramjets, each carrying a 60,000 pound payload as their HELLADS 25Mw lasers searched the skies for enemy targets. As they flew over New Geneva, the rotating bomb racks spun as 900 half ton bombs, with a 900 pound warhead of plasma spray fragments and high explosives. They vectored in on Markovian military concentrations, radars, powerplants, and defenses as they screamed to earth.

As they neared a specified height, the specially designed copper casing would be heated to extreme temperatrures, and then the bomb would explode, flinging out molten metal at hypervelocities that would pierce armor and set men afire.

As the bombs fell, the 48 Air/Sea aircraft were still speeding through Markovian waters, unmolested so far by any sort of defenses.

Near the battlegroup, two Marine "Battle of Sparta" class Assault Ships arrived, along with a Harbinger CVHN and a Neufeld UCAV and light aircraft carrier. As lights flashed above, marines prepared down below. M110 Battledress was put together, magazines loaded into M32A5s, grenades and mini RPGs into their launchers, belts of rounds into their battlepacks, and hydrogen cells recharged on their tanks and AFVs. The ALCACs were ready as well, their 20mm gun turrets and automortars would provide vital covering fire and support for the landing.

Operation Carthage was about to begin.

There are no military concentrations. And all the bases are deserted.

OOC:So you evacuated all the bases within minutes? They would have hit columns of retreating forces as well... You can see a lot from up there.

Wait. I evacuated in 2 RL hours. And you posted later than then that. Meaning yes you may have seen some retreating forces....but not alot.

OOC:So where do they go? The thing has Heat sensitive, EMS, downward looking radar and LIDAR... Militaries don't just disappear. I doubt you can hide them all in caves, and they'd have to travel by ship or those huge bridges to escape New Geneva, both of which can be seen from orbit. The bombers have hunter killer mindsets, if their objective moves, they manuver and kill them.

Of course, I was under the impression MAC guns were hundreds of feet long, and therefore very hard to use... And they would fall under the defenses I dropped bombs on...

The Commanding officer chuckled. "Ya know, those Empirians should learn a thing about stratagy or two. Beach landings are so passe. Well, keep an eye on them. If their suply lines start getting hit, will help 'em out."

However, other orders were to be given, and they two, were done. Within minutes, the popping noise of dropships breaking the atmosphere was heard, and anyone looking towards the sky would see the green mass of UD-4Ls and UD-10L dropships accelerating towards the ground. The exact number would be hard to determine, but it ranged in over a thousand. The ICMC rarely ever launched a mass attack, but this is the way the did it when it needed to be done.

Fifteen Northampton class modular frigates had been converted to troop use, and had launched their dropships. In total, near 80,000 Marines would be hitting the ground, along with 447 M1A5s, with their newly mounted Rail Assisted 135mm cannon, 650 ACGV, with their dual 90mm Gaus cannon and 135mm ETC gun, and enough APCs so that the troops wouldn't have to walk much.

They landed no more than fifty miles outside of Sparta, and began to move. Their job was to secure Sparta, tehn to rendezvous with another similar force to move on Markov City. After that, they would regroup and reload for an assault New Betshesda, as well as an assault coordinated to hit at the same time on New Athens. They would move on New Geneva, but the Empirians had some sort of hard on for teh city, and anylysts and shown that it really wasnt stratigically that important.

While the New Empirians began to use the age old tactic of moving in, the ICMC began its preferd movement of starting from the inside, and moving out.

Infantry troops were loading up into Landmates and APCs preparing to move out. The 114th SOTF division headed by Colonial Millard was loading up in Copperheads preparing to move out. Ammo, food and other supplies were packed. Similer actions were taking place all over the country. Nobody knew when or where the first attacks would begin.

Colonial Millard runs into Genral Turner's tent.

"General, we've picked up the homing signal on a escape pod. Communications says it's from the OCS. It landed in the mountains just north of Sparta. Should we send a ship to seach for survivors?"

"No. I don't want to risk any Copperheads. We'll need them later."

"Yessir"

The colonial saluted and left the tent.

The armored divisions moved out first. Some were to set positions in the forests SW of Sparta. And others moved father south.

The whole base was soon deserted.

The advanced search part slid over Sparta, noting its emptiness. The MV-22Is banked away, and retruned to the forward command center, rellaying the information. However, they had picked up movements just southwest of the city, and had sent a scout party to see what was going on.

The subfighters, after the 1 mile mark was reached, leapt out of the water with a burst of speed, weapons primed to find... Nothing. Markovian forces were retreating under fire, and whatever resitance was left should be limited enough.

The Battle of Sparta and Battle of G-corp emerged from the depths, water streaming of their massive black hulls. Their upper decks slid open to reveal a series of what looked like a combination of civil war ironclads, main battle tanks, and hovercraft. The ALCACs streamed towards the Eastern coast, M/V-32 Tiltjet aircraft overhead. 10,000 Marines, including Recon teams and combat engineers, 100 KAF90F2 Bolos, 125 KAI40C Super Foxes, and 50 KAT50T APC variants. 1000 Guges MD Heavy Combat Landmates were also present as the landing force swept over the beach, heading towards New Geneva and it's airfields.

A few hours earlier... The beaches of New Geneva.

"Contact, left flank, 10 O'Clock. Requesting fire support!"

The Lieutenant looked at the video transmission window on the battlefield Tablet PC. It was the gun camera of the pointman as he lay in the dirt, firing at Markovian troops. A large form appeared, and someone screamed "ARCLITE!" over the channels.

The pointman continued his firing as the AT trooper in the squad picked up his 120mm Missile launcher, an M-990 PMRMS. Another rifleman slapped a SASAM round into it, and then they both hit the dirt. The missile angled upward as it tracked the tank's radar, infrared, and electromagnetic profile, and then slammed down on it's weakest point- The top.

A self forging plasma jet formed as armor was superheated, and the little globules ignited everything they touched. Seats, soldiers, even ammunition. The turret went to pieces as the ball of flame from the unexpended rounds blossomed in a hellish scene. A section of Guges MD landmates, their 50mm MicroRPG launchers spitting out a variety of anti-personnel and anti armor rounds, engaged enemy landmates in the area. Their handheld railguns accelerated 6.5mm rounds to Mach 10, and then spewed them over Markovian infantry. A corpse, it's torso vaporized, was blown backward as the 3 landmates advanced, their AV units looking for any missiles that came their way.

They all moved forward, rain pouring down from the atmospheric chaos caused by plasma weapons and orbital warfare.

Current time, mobile C4I vehicle, New Geneva.

"Whaddya got for me?"

The Colonel in charge of the landing force didn't look up as he spoke, his fingers continued tapping and clicking on the computers around him.

"Sir, about 19 dead, 24 wounded and stable, two evacuated seaside for surgery. Equipment loss... 2 landmates damaged, 2 destroyed. 1 Bolo needs a few extra tracks... Markies suffered maybe three times our losses, the bodies are still being counted."

There was a silence as the G-3 stood, and the colonel continued to type. Music, something old, blared over loudspeakers. Music was allowed, even the anti-war songs were enjoyed, as it had an uplifiting effect on morale. It kept them awake, happy, and in a fairly good mood.

The song was "Voodoo child." And it aptly fit the current situation. Their technology and training was a great force on the battlefield, it might as well be magic. And soon, they would take down every threat in their way. They were Marines.

And Operation Carthage was just getting started.
