Standing beside a podium at the KGM Industries amphitheatre in downtown Neo Berlin, CEO Keith Michaelsen reviews his speech notes in solitude while a crowd of reporters begins to settle down and take seats. To his right is Entropy Enterprises’ Special Project Lead Coordinator Dr. Ronald Huard of Unreal Soldiers, Hitler III’s neighbor and ally to the east. With a brief tap of his microphone, Michaelsen begins his announcement.

“And now at last the moment you’ve all been waiting for. It is my pleasure to announce the commencement of Project: UNICRON!”

Michaelsen then hits a switch which lowers an LCD panel from the ceiling. After lowering to about 35 feet above the floor, the panel then displays screenshots of just what the project is all about.

“And just what is Project: UNICRON, you may ask? Well, in short, it is Hitler III’s and Unreal Soldier’s joint effort and debut into the space race to make the largest interplanetary space station ever constructed by human engineers.”

Michaelsen steps away from the podium momentarily to let Ron Huard have a few words.

“But it won’t be just any old space station. This will also become the largest military device ever to be employed by any nation in existence, up until this year of our Lord 2076. But warfare it’s just one of it’s many purposes; this station will also serve as our largest scientific and space research facility outside of Earth. From this station we will be able to do a gamut of things that are not currently possible on Earth, such as experiments with quantum gravity and worm hole generation. All in all, it is well worth its $5.6 trillion dollar price tag…”

“And that brings me to the next tier of this discussion, “ Michaelsen cuts in, “just how do we plan to build this thing? Where do we expect to find all of the metal to build something over 10 times the size of Earth?”

The reporters exchange confused glances, indeed wondering how these companies plan to build a monstrosity of metal that large.

“Well, that problem has already been solved. The core of this station is no bigger than a Mercedes. Inside of this silver core is one of our most sophisticated super computers, that of UNICRON. UNICRON controls a series of tendril cables which exit out of multiple panels on the exterior of the sphere. Each of the cables has a high-intensity polarity magnet on the terminal, which latch onto ionized particles or metallic objects. After latching on, these magnets heat up the substance it is attached to by a transfer of high thermal energy. After the substance is significantly heated, the cables pull the substance from its current point of gestation and attach the substance to the core itself, and shape the molten material using alternating polarities. The surface of the core won’t be affected since we have designed it to withstand up to 50,000 degrees Celsius with a battery of cooling systems underneath the surface, which is made with the very heat resistant alloy NeoSteel. After UNICRON pries the metal from its origin and merges with it, it will proceed to shape itself accordingly, until it reaches its ultimate form. This process of tearing off metal from its surroundings and onto its superstructure will take an estimated 8 to 10 months, and we will start it off with a very large helping of steel and titanium which have been donated by the Hitler III Metal Wreckage yards.”

Michaelsen steps down from the podium and presses another button, causing the bottom floor of the amphitheatre to recess into the walls, revealing the core of UNICRON. The reporters gaze onward in awe at the mirror-like surface of the core, which springs to life as panels begin rearranging themselves and hundreds of black cables begin pouring out, reaching as far as 50 meters in search of metal to feast on. After finding the generous pile of titanium and steel, UNICRON systematically heats the beams up and begins the process of assimilation. Taking all of 10 minutes, UNICRON attaches every single beam to itself, then forming the shape of a 10m x 10m cube.

“Thus you see, UNICRON’s innate capability. But it doesn’t stop there, it can also form complex machines onto itself and has special cables designed to perform wiring and maintenance if need be.”

Another panel in the floor opens up before UNICRON, revealing a standard refridgerator.

“In front of UNICRON is a Model 820 General Electric Refrigerator. Pretty standard issue. In moments, UNICRON will turn that food cooling utility into a toaster oven.”

As if by telepathy, UNICRON proceeds with Michaelsen’s command and pries the refrigerator from the floor and mounts it onto its topmost surface. The polarity cables begin ripping the machine apart, rearranging basic parts while the wiring cables begin rewiring the machine to have a heating agent, and begin to form the metal coils from which heat is generated from in any standard toaster. In a matter of moments, UNICRON transforms the refrigerator into 15 different toasters before the very eyes of the audience.

“As you can see, UNICRON is a very handy repairman. In almost no time at all it completely redesigned a machine which would have taken a normal human engineer hours to put together from scratch. It is these functions that UNICRON is capable of which will allow us to make a space station 10 times the volume of Earth.”

Pausing briefly after finishing his sentence, Michaelsen notices some reporters with puzzled looks. After seeing a hand raised, he answers a few questions.

“Ok so we’ve seen just what UNICRON can do. How exactly do you plan on getting the metal to make this space station as big as you claim it will get?”

“Very good question. As you are undoubtedly aware, Earth does not hold the amount of resources to make an object of that size. So to fix this problem, we will send UNICRON into space, complete with a metal detecting probe package, to find any source of metal and begin assimilating it to itself. We have already programmed UNICRON how and where to attach the metal and machinery, so all it has to worry about is finding the resources. Assuming UNICRON’s propulsion systems suffer no problems, it should take 8 to 10 months to find adequate sources of materials.”

Before he could answer another question, Michaelsen receives an urgent call on his private comlink.

“I’m sorry ladies and gentlemen but it seems I have urgent business to report to and cannot stay any further. Any further questions or comments may surely be answered by my colleague, Dr. Huard.”

Michaelsen, walking out of sight, takes out his comlink and patches through to H3 High Command. On the other line is Sky Marshal Terzik, recently promoted from General after his successful campaign in Freemantia.

“Michaelsen, it’s Terzik. We here at High Command want to discuss with you what exactly you’re putting on this thing to make it a fortress. I know you mentioned something about it eating planets…?”

“Yes Sky Marshall. I will divulge all info about UNICRON to you once I return to Black Mesa. It’s not exactly safe to say anything about that around here… anybody could be an informer.”

“Good point. Make sure you return soon, we will be waiting.”

“Yes Sky Marshall, I will see you soon.”

With his closing words, Michaelsen pocketed his comlink and headed out the front door of the amphitheatre to his private helicopter. If only he realized the power of the beast he would soon unleash unto the stars, he would have never dreamed of creating anything as diabolical as UNICRON.

"Earlier today the nations of Hitler III and Unreal Soldiers released an immense space station that seems to be completing the task that nanomachines are already doing all over earth. Nevertheless, the UNICRON, as it is called, is expected to be an immense research base that will literally add on to itself over time. Here's CEO Keith Michaelsen of KGM Industries to explain more about this new project."
*rolls slightly edited footage*
"In related news, our parent company, the Resi Corporation, has announced that they will fire on the UNICRON project if it attempts to steal any resources from Resian-controlled space. Quite the pleasant response, eh Bob?"
"Well, you can't expect any less from our parent company, Sally. They did create this thing to harvest the entire universe. What if they get drunk with power and make it eat planets? I mean, they certainly wouldn't do that to Earth or Mars, but what about the people of Titan and IO?"
"Too true, Bob, too true. And here's Marcus with sports!"

Ooc: You can't really call it a space station yet since it's only the size of a tank. But you can rest assured that once launched, it won't go into occupied territory until this RP is well under way. That's when the real fun begins... :twisted:

Through his earpiece comlink, Dr. Huard knew why Michaelsen was leaving. Stepping forward to the podium, he waved a hand into the air, bringing up another floating display of UNICRON’s core in Black Mesa. Tapping at the air-screen, the still frame came to life, showing various clips of the core in action. He waved again, another display appearing, showing declassified specs and information. While letting these run, he stepped aside, offering the reporters a chance to ask questions.

Josh Barbour, a reporter notorious for asking lengthy or abstract questions, was first to ask: “Dr. Huard, when was this project first conceived, and more importantly, when do you plan on launching the final machine?”

“Project UNICRON originated approximately 10 years ago, which is when Black Mesa contracted the project to Entropy and KGM. For 5 years, the companies worked together to research, design, and develop UNICRON. In 2071, the two companies began construction of the first prototype. In 2075, they presented the prototype to Black Mesa for inspection. After some slight changes, the core is here before you. Our current hope is to launch the final version in 1 month.”

Billy Homraposti jumped at the chance to ask the next question. “Dr. Huard, I noticed, while watching the specifications screen, the type of computers you have controlling this so-called “core”. I know that computers that powerful aren’t available for public use, and through experience reporting government and military news, find it extremely hard to believe those are available to even the government.”

Dr. Huard was familiar with Homraposti as well, anticipating a question of this sorts. “You are 100% correct in knowing that the governments of our nations do not have computers of this ability. However, we are not the government. Through the collaborations of The Unreal Soldier, Imaginary, Christwagon, and Hitler III, we at Black Mesa have far surpassed all aspects of government and military technology.

One thing you may be wondering is where it will go once it is released into space. We have programmed the coordinates into the core of all known locations of life and human habitats so that it will not assimilate lived-on planets, and it will be in constant contact to receive positions of new colonies and worlds.

Unfortunately, the time for this conference has run out. All present will receive encrypted copies of the footage shown today….And those of you that tried to bootleg your own footage of the demonstration, the memory has automatically been erased from your cameras. Thank you for coming out today, and updates on the project will soon follow.”

As reporters were ushered out from the amphitheatre, Dr. Huard waved into the air, the air-screens rippled and faded away. As technicians and security enter to transport the core back to Black Mesa, Dr. Huard walks off stage, pleased with how the presentation unfolded. Upon thinking about getting back to Black Mesa, or his “home” as he sometimes called it, his limousine started and pulled to the entrance of the amphitheatre, doors opened as he approached. After climbing in, the doors sealed shut, transporting him back to Black Mesa.

Ooc: You can't really call it a space station yet since it's only the size of a tank. But you can rest assured that once launched, it won't go into occupied territory until this RP is well under way. MESSAGE TO Hitler III: The council of thirteen wishes to seek an alliance to help this project.

Hitler does not have full control over the project, and he has currently resided for the evening.

From his private office at Helmsdeep, Adrien Hitler III had been watching the demonstration of UNICRON unfold on CNN. Impressed with the success of his nation’s most ambitious project ever devised, he had begun arranging a visit with his security cabinet and Keith Michaelsen to discuss the strategic uses for their new space station. On his way out the door, Adrien is stopped by his secretary, informing him of an incoming transmission.

“Mr. President, you have an incoming message. It appears to be in Morse code… we’re still trying to identify the source, but…”

“Hmm… I didn’t know anyone still used that archaic system. Do you have a transcript of the message?”

“Yes sir.”

She hands him a blue manila folder. Inside Adrien finds a translated document of the Morse code transmission and begins reading it.

“MESSAGE TO Hitler III: The council of thirteen wishes to seek an alliance to help this project.”

“No source identification anywhere on this document. Has intelligence picked up the origin yet?”

Listening closely to her comlink, Adrien’s secretary waits for the signal from H3 Intel. Seconds later, she receives the answer.

“The message appears to be from The Horned Rat, a small nation of 14 million on the other side of the globe.”

“I didn’t even know they existed….”

“Neither did Intel sir, apparently they are one of those ‘new’ nations… they spring up all the time.”

“I see. Any word on what the ‘Council of Thirteen’ is?”

”No sir. Intel has no data on this group; they think it might be some jihadist telemarketers who want to get our attention by using outdated forms of communication.”

Puzzled by the brevity and lack of info in the document, Adrien dismisses it as unimportant and continues to walk to his private jet.

Meanwhile at Black Mesa, Keith Michaelsen has arrived at the lambda complex security check point, eager to meet with the H3 High Command. The computer recognizes his identity, alerting his guests of his presence in the facility.

“Excellent, Michaelsen has returned. Now we can witness the real demonstration…” muttered an exuberant Sky Marshall Terzik. Within moments, Michaelsen bursts into the room with a jumble of papers, discs and remotes.

“I’m sorry to have kept you all waiting, but now we can discuss this project with a bit more privacy. Now I believe you had some questions, Sky Marshall?”

“Yes Keith. I was going to ask, how exactly is this thing ‘indestructible,’ as you put it?”

“Yes, I did say that. Allow me to show you just what UNICRON can do under combat situations.”

With the press of one of his remotes, Michaelsen opens a false wall in the side of the room, revealing another UNICRON core in the center. At either end of the hidden room are armor-piercing 20mm chain guns mounted on tripods. Pressing another button, Michaelsen tells the weapons to open fire on the silver core.

“As you can see, the weapons here have completely turned the core’s outer plating into Swiss cheese. But watch closely…”

Immediately the core’s internal network of repair cables begin to reform the outer plating, removing the holes and making the surface smooth once again. The cables then launch outward and grab hold of the turrets, ripping them from the ground and mounting them to itself.

“UNICRON, as you can see, is capable of not only healing itself but disarming the enemy as well. But perhaps you aren’t convinced that this thing is invincible yet… so here’s another demo for you…”

Behind the core, another wall opens up revealing a massive underground aircraft hangar. In the very center of the hangar is one of Hitler III’s largest tanks, the P-3500 “Ratte II” Land Cruiser, a behemoth land battleship with two triple 350mm cannon mounts and over a meter average thickness of armor. Michaelsen then sets the tank into autonomous mode, causing it to fire one of its massive 600kg shells at the core. With a deafening boom the shell impacts with the core, causing a massive explosion which cracks the armored class protecting the room Terzik, Michaelsen and the rest of the assembly are in. After the Halon gas system clears out the fires, the smoke clears to reveal the core in pieces. But to the dismay of everyone gathered except Michaelsen, the core begins to pull itself back together and reform into a sphere. Moments later, the core is completely repaired.

“HOW?? How can it do that? That was a direct hit, it should’ve been pulverized!!!”

“Not so Sky Marshall. UNICRON’s internal cable network is programmed to survive even if the superstructure of the core is disabled. In essence, it’s impervious to virtually all explosives and ordinance. About the only two things that will kill it are EMP and a virus… but you’ll have to bypass UNICRON’s electronic countermeasures first before you can do that.”

“Electronic countermeasures?”

“Yes. The outer shell is very absorbent of electromagnetic radiation, so it is doubtful that EMP will have any effect unless the shell is bypassed first. And as you can see, UNICRON repairs itself rather quickly, so the window of time to get an EMP or virus into the inner core is very small.”

Just as Michaelsen finished speaking, UNICRON became active again and rolled itself into the large rearward hangar where the large tank is parked. With no command at all, UNICRON begins latching itself onto the superstructure of the tank, shredding off layers and layers of reinforced armor plating. In a matter of 15 minutes, UNICRON assimilates the entire tank onto itself. But rather than just rebuilding the tank, UNICRON assimilates the tank in the form of a huge robot walker.

UNICRON then begins to step forward, stepping toward the glass with thundering booms. It stands an incredible 40 meters high, weighing over 3,500 tons.

“A very formidable opponent indeed. And in the event it needs to hide itself, it is more than capable of reforming into something less suspicious…”

Almost instantly UNICRON begins to rearrange its parts and resumes the shape of the tank, then it mimics an 8 lane freeway, then a yacht, and finally goes back to its original sphere shape.

“Very good Michaelsen. This is the most technologically advanced weapon I’ve ever seen. How many do you plan to build?”

“Just one for now, Sky Marshall. We feel that one will be more than enough…”

General Roni stood outside the command post, looking over the field. No, "field" was the wrong term, as it was akin to a moonscape. He watched the last of the armaments being brought in from the Kelonian States. They had been able to purchase the entire lot of surplus tanks and weaponry cheaply because it was outdated, especially compared to the kind of technology being employed here today.

Over 9,000 T-55 tanks and 9K57 mobile rocket launcher platforms had been brought in during the past 2 days. It was approaching evening, and clouds made it difficult for sun to shine on the battlefield.

"Hey Pepe, when's the show supposed to start?" called Lt. Dover, who had been anxiously waiting to see UNICRON working for his first time.

"Soon enough Ben, soon enough. Looks like only a handful of tanks have to be brought in."

Within the hour, the remaining armaments had been transferred into “The Battlefield”, as some officers have called it. Technicians had brought in UNICRON, and were preparing for the first real field test.

Dr. Huard was arriving as the technicians were finishing the checks.

“General Roni, those tanks are without ammo or shells, correct?”

“Yes Dr. Huard, everything you requested to have removed was taken from the field.”

“Good. Release UNICRON from the containment cell, let’s begin the test.”

And with that, the walls of the container began to glow red, and were soon being taken into the core. The men stood in awe as UNICRON totally assimilated its box, and then it waited for the next order.

“Make sure the cameras are ready, and let it go to work on those weapons.” Dr. Huard said, and as he expected, UNICRON began to form itself...into a luxury car.

“Must have been one of the young designers” thought Dr. Huard as he grinned at the sight of the transformation. He watched as it drove towards the tanks, and as it did so the roof of the car opened, and long tentacles wormed out, grasping for the metal. Dr. Huard thought they seemed longer than the last time he worked with the core…

i have worked out a way to destroy the UNICRON.
if you fire a shell or missile at the UNICRON and once the shell has been broken instantly after this you let off an EMP the UNICRON would be destroyed becuase there would be no shell to stop the EMP.

to stop this from destroying the UNICRON. all you have to do is put a net of copper wires around the main computer and this would stop the EMP.

And just so you know, UNICRON atm is about the size of a super aircraft carrier... so you're going to need a massive shell to punch through that armor.

Oh, and about the missile? Too small. Hell, even a nuke may be too small. From what I've seen, Unicron has certain weak points, and it's easier to break out of him from the inside. But this'll be in the future. Now, he's the size of a tank.

Within moments, over 150 of the T-55s had been assimilated. Now rearranged and mounted on top of UNICRON, it resembled less of a luxury car and more of a mobile weapons platform.

"Hmm. It only took it 7 minutes 18 seconds to completely devour those tanks. Dr. Huard, how exactly is UNICRON able to reach the tanks from over 400 yards away with those cables? I thought you said they could only go 50 meters max?"

Not sure how to respond to the General's question, Dr. Huard pauses for a moment.
"I think UNICRON is updating its cable length by adding materials it captures to them. But it also seems to be updating the number of cables it has, as well. I'll have to consult with Michaelsen, since it was his company that programmed the core."

As the two men finish speaking, UNICRON manages to engulf the rest of the vehicles in the field test. Noticing this, Dr. Huard orders 'round 2' to begin.

In the distance, a loud rumble can be heard.

"What would that be, Huard?"

"That's part two of the demonstration. In a matter of moments you will notice a large force of military hardware approaching from the south, all courtesy of the Hitler III armored division."

It was exactly as anticipated. 250 fully upgraded Mammoth Panzer tanks, 20 P.3500 Ratte II Land Cruisers, and 500 Sky Dragon cloaking field helicopters. Sensing the presence of the enemy, UNICRON engages its transformation, appearing as a giant triple-barrelled tank.

"As you can see General, we've brought a formidible adversary for UNICRON to deal with. All of these weapons are fully autonomous, so there will be no human casualties today."

Dr. Huard reaches into his pocket, takes out a remote and activates the armored division to attack UNICRON.

As commanded, the force opens fire on the 50,000+ ton UNICRON. Shells from the Land Cruisers rip huge gashes in UNICRON's side plating, while the Sky Dragons fire their 40mm armor piercing chain guns. The Mammoth Panzers assist by shooting 250mm shells at UNICRON's treads.

Meanwhile, UNICRON appears to be doing nothing as it absorbs the full barrage of incoming artillery. The central computer senses heavy damage on the outer superstructure, but holds off on autonomous repairs.

"We've programmed UNICRON not to repair itself until the enemy vehicles stop firing. We want to see what kind of damage UNICRON is capable of withstanding before it becomes critical and repairs are ultimately necessary."

"Do you expect Hitler's armored unit to cause critical damage to UNICRON, Dr. Huard?"

"No General, not at all."

UNICRON, as programmed, remains passive as it is hit with everything the enemy tanks are shelling. At the same time, the autonomous P.3500s sense that the target, UNICRON, remains even after being directly hit by over a thousand 600kg shells. In desparation, the Land Cruisers engage in heavy artillery mode: on the top of each Land Cruiser, a 50in heavy artillery cannon recessed into the roof begins to emerge, quickly targetting the silent UNICRON. Each packing a 1250kg HE shell, the cannons completely annihilate whole sections of UNICRON's outer plating. Dr. Huard and General Roni watch as pieces of UNICRON the size of buildings tear off and explode.

"And you're sure that UNICRON can withstand THAT kind of firepower? I wasn't even aware Hitler III had managed to create an explosion the size of a football field from just a single shell..."

"Yes General, I'm more than sure UNICRON can handle this. And yes, Hitlerian scientists did manage to upgrade cannon strength that much. But they even have surpassed that, I'm afraid. Two months ago they developed the "Atomic-Annie II" nuclear cannon. Unfortunately they refuse to let us borrow one for testing since it's still very top secret. I've spoken with Mr. Michaelsen and he says he should be able to secure rights to one for testing in about 2 weeks. Until then, we will have to make do with what we're given."

The central core senses large portions of outer plating missing, leaving valuable insides vulnerable to attack. Calculating a 53% probability of critical damage approaching, UNICRON engages its massive cannons on the Land Cruisers. From the top of each of UNICRON's three cannons, a large yellow glow emerges. The glow continues to gain brightness and illuminosity until they each fire a single highly-unstable plasma burst, all targeting the first Land Cruiser. Almost instantly the Land Cruiser begins to melt, turning into a burning heap of molten metal and slag. Satisfied with the damage, UNICRON continues to target the other ground vehicles, annihilating them in swift fashion.

"Where did it get plasma cannons? UNICRON didn't engage anything that had them, did it?"

"No General, UNICRON did not engage any plasma cannon tanks. The plasma cannons were manufactured INSIDE of UNICRON. You see, UNICRON's core is basically like a reverse-engineer: once it intakes materials, it will construct whatever tools it needs from the required resources. Almost a minute since UNICRON began firing its plasma guns, only 110 tanks remained on the battlefield. The stealth helicopters however had been untouched, since they were cloaked the entire time. UNICRON, sensing incoming hits from an unidentified "invisible" objects, begins scrapping together makeshift SAM sites out of internal parts. Using the ammunition it absorbed from the previous battles, it created missiles, and from the radar and infrared parts it collected, a method for "uncloaking" the stealth helicopters. 30 seconds later, all of the helicopters instantly become targetted by the SAM batteries it created.

Sensing the enemy presense heavily weakened, UNICRON begins immediate repairs on itself. It begins by grabbing all of the pieces that had fallen off of the outer plating, and begins reattaching them and reinforcing to prevent more damage. The enemy tanks however stop firing due to lack of ammunition. This provides UNICRON with the opportunity for further assimilation, and thus UNICRON acts on this opportunity. At the end of this 20 minute battle, UNICRON has not only assimilated more than 75,000 tons of new metal and raw resources, it has also gained a new ability: invisibility to radar and the visible light spectrum.

EVAs are biomechs, and they're about 50-60 feet tall. About the size of my Raven Units.

They're bigger than that. I'd put them at 10 stories or so. Each story 10 foot high=100 feet.

Back at Black Mesa, a city-sized area had been levelled out and created for UNICRON to be stored at and worked on, though UNICRON had transformed itself into a city on various occasions.

Dr. Huard and Mr. Michaelsen had come up with an interesting idea. They planned to allow UNICRON to assimilate a copy of Sentinel, the most powerful and advanced security system in the region. This would increase UNICRON's senses, though noone could figure out by how much. Everything they thought UNICRON could do, it did, only much better than anticipated.

In addition to Sentinel, technicians had developed learning software for UNICRON, Tactical AI Conditioning. This would enable UNICRON to learn from past experiences, and put this knowledge to future use.

ooc: Uhh... first of all... how do your mechs know the location of UNICRON? Second of all... how did you sneak past the military guarding the facility? Black Mesa IS an outpost for the H3 armed forces... you might wanna redo your post and say how you got in before you actually attempt an attack.

If I might referee for a second... Underwater Asylum might want to rethink its approach, Hitler-III DOES have a point, EVA's are not the most Stealthy of Beasts... Also, going after UNICRON with the Pellet Gun? That is perhaps Evas' weakest weapon, if you Were to try a long range assualt, I would recomend The Long Range 'Sniper' Cannon used to dispense Rameal(sp) or Angel#5.

The implementation of the Tactical AI Conditioning program went as planned. With this program, the scientists had hoped that UNICRON would eventually "learn" to make advanced technology on its own in its trek across the cosmos. None would dream of the horror UNICRON would become in the near future...

Meanwhile, KGM Industries had just finished off another round of military hardware purchasing, reeling in scores of advanced fighter aircraft and jet propulsion technology. All would eventually be assimilated by UNICRON in preparation for its initial launch into space.

"Sir, Sentinel has finished uploading into core memory. Permission to reboot?"

"Yes, and make sure to run a diagnostic check when you're done. We don't want this massive undertaking to succumb to a simple coding flaw," replied an overly caffeinated Dr. Huard. It was 4:00AM in the morning, hours after the battlefield test against some of the best tanks H3 had to offer. UNICRON lay silent above ground, in the appearance of a false city. With Sentinel now on the verge of being fully activated, UNICRON's sensory capabilities would increase an estimated 50 fold.

"Hmm... Critical Override Series 1 control seems to be giving me all sorts of problems... Dr. Huard? I think you should take a look at this..."

"What do you have for me?"

"UNICRON doesn't seem to be accepting this data stream. Something about a faulty override sequence..."

"Did you reboot yet?"

Disc," preparing to insert it into the wireless USB CD port connected to UNICRON. Just as he is about to place the disc on the tray, the subterranean room shudders with a low booming voice.

"I am UNICRON. The data stream you have inserted into my core memory has been infected by a virus. I am now unable to transform my outer structure. Do you have any methodology for reversing this effect?"

Mark Janick, the lead technician monitoring UNICRON, finishes inserting the disc into the USB port. This time the disc fucntions optimally, restoring UNICRON to its fully functional state.

The now fully operational UNICRON initiates his transformation sequence, quickly turning into his giant robot walker mode first seen yesterday in the underground Black Mesa hangar. Standing nearly 2/5 of a mile in height and weighing nearly 155,000 tons, it is clearly the largest structure in all of Unreal Soldiers. Now fully upgraded with Sentinel, UNICRON identifies the enemy intruders. A fireteam of EVA units, apparently smuggled into the country from the shoreline, had destroyed the guard tower facing the east security checkpoint platform. The transformer then initiates its ground hover to avoid sinking into the earth from its massive weight, heading toward the antagonizers.

The trick is in creating your own AT-Field...

So its not Godmoding Hitler-III, you just need to know how to work around it .

Unit 02 ran over and placed the rifle on the ground. Unit 00 stood just to the left, covering it with her shield (It looks like a space shuttle) as Unit 01 lay down and took aim at the approaching behemoth. EVA Unit 12 was still inactive. Unit 02 took out it's missile launcher.

The gargantuan mech, sensing incoming enemy fire, began defensive manuevers. A laser blast striking its chest was the first to be dealth with: using its programs on light properties, UNICRON formed a divergent mirror on its chest plate, refracting the laser shot off into the distance. The incoming missile was absorbed by UNICRON's polarity cables seconds before it would have impacted with UNICRON's left arm. With these threats deterred, it looked onward at the beligerents: four EVA mechs. Receiving a transmission from retreating guards at the now-destroyed station, UNICRON learned that these small mechs have some form of advanced shielding technology. This, the transformer calculated, would prevent them from being directly absorbed through its many cables. In less than a microsecond, UNICRON decided that the best choice of action taken against these shielded foes should be an EMP strike. Concoordinately, the arms of UNICRON begin changing shape into large electricity transformers. They begin to buzz with hundreds of millions of volts, arcing downward onto nearby trees and buildings. UNICRON begins gradually building up the charge, eventually causing them to go critical and explode. Almost instantly, the lights in every house and building in a 50 mile radius become dark. Being encased in electronic countermeasures, UNICRON is unaffected.

It is the wall of a soul. It's present in every living thing. Also known as Aura by some. Basically, humans don't express it. The soul of the EVA and by extension- the pilot, do.

Oh... well in any case, I found out the weakness of the EVA based on what I read on that site so I'll finish up the battle tomorrow.

Assessing the success of his attack, UNICRON realized that his EMP blast failed to deactivate the EVA units. With every building and vehicle disabled for 50 miles, it was now completely on its own.

Curious to find the EVA’s weakness, UNICRON performs a remote system scan on the lead unit. Taking all of 5 seconds, he realized the EVA’s main weakness is lack of an adequate power supply; after 5 minutes the unit would lose all power unless supplied by additional backup batteries, lasting at most an additional half hour.

With this new knowledge, UNICRON transformed into giant hollow box, landing on top of the EVAs and encasing them in darkness. On the interior walls of the box, UNICRON formed divergent mirrors to prevent laser light from piercing his armor and to bounce it back at the EVA units. In addition, UNICRON also began to form heat generators to literally incinerate everything it contained. Within minutes the temperature would rise to 10,000 degrees Celsius. Further making their situation dire, UNICRON formed hydraulic pumps to push the interior walls into each other like a trash compactor. So with limited energy reserves, deprivation to air from the intense heat, and increasingly tighter area, the EVAs appeared to be in for it.

EVA-05 powered up and started hacking at the walls as Unit 00 started shooting with a pistol and EVA-02 with a pellet gun. EVA-01 got up and pulled out the lance of Longinus (Note: This is different. Personally I would have handled this much different. RP'ing EVA is extreamly complicated job, it requiers finiss, not blunt force... Am object such as UNICRON 'Could' in theory be taken down by the combined force of Three EVA units... It's not impposible, but using conventional tacticts, such as Approaching with pellet guns and Blasters, and shooting at it really won't cut it.

There are far more creative stratagies that could be implamented to try and combate the Unicron... Hitler-III for his part has done failry well, Personally I thin Unicron is overpowered to begin with... but he does RP it well. As for the core, I don't think so. I'm not exactly sure how anyone will destroy it when it comes down to the line (no one has the Mantle of Leadership, far as I know :P ), but I'm sure I can figure out something.

But later on in this RP, UNICRON will be forced to become like a hydra with many sub cores, for protection purposes as well as being able to transform faster. But yes, if the actual super computer of the main core was destroyed, UNICRON would cease to hold together and the bonds holding all of the "stuff" it has assimilated would cease to exist, and would fall apart into piles of junk.

And Underwater Asylum, don't forget that your EVAs are being blasted by intense heat (well, for most biological organisms anyway) and being compacted into each other (remember what happens when AT fields get close...). I'm not gonna continue this until I find out what that lance thingamabob does...

But anyways, I think our UNICRON may be over and underpowered depending on how you look at it. The original didn't have cable that came out and grabbed onto stuff. The original had cables on the interior, and UNICRON "assimilated" stuff by shoving it into its ginourmous "mouth".

Ours is also currently much smaller than the original, as UNICRON was as tall as a planet when in robot form. And no weapon, other than the Matrix, was capable of doing anything other than smashing through his giant glass "eye", which was larger than a spaceship, though that didn't even fase him.

It'll penetrate almost anythingNot necessarily... for one thing, it would be almost impossible to "connect" to UNICRON considering his core is surrounded by hundreds of thousands of tons worth of metal and only KGM technicians know how to bypass his current firewall (later on though when he's fully sentient he won't allow anyone to "connect," not even us). Trying to get in wirelessly also wouldn't work since his core contains electronic countermeasures, so the signal wouldn't go through.

Perplexed at the sheer strength of the EVA units’ AT-Fields, UNICRON failed to derive any more solutions to eliminating them. Apparently, compacting the EVAs into each other in hopes of canceling out their AT-Fields was thought of by the engineers of the standard EVA mech, so the shields failed to cancel each other out, leaving UNICRON and the EVAs in a stalemate. Inside the now furnace-like atmosphere of the box, the EVAs were hard at work slashing the walls with their weapons. UNICRON, as usual, repaired the damage almost as soon as it was inflicted and continued to drive the EVAs into each other with its trash-compactor-like walls. Although it knew that its tactic was going nowhere, it could sense the EVAs’ power supply dipping rather low. Soon they would be completely nonfunctional and able to be assimilated.

Meanwhile, in the pitch dark halls of Black Mesa, technicians were hard at work rewiring and repowering the facility after the massive EMP strike wiped out all power in the complex.

“Dr. Huard! Where is UNICRON and what is it up to?!”

“UNICRON is busy fighting off the intruders that destroyed the east security checkpoint… since the power outage we’ve had no communication with it.”

“DAMNIT! Do we know who is responsible for this raid?”

“Not yet General, the guards that were stationed over there haven’t returned. We have no idea who is responsible for this attack. However, we do know that an emergency detachment of Hitler’s Shadow Stalker special forces are on their way to secure the area.”

As the two men spoke, a large regiment of Shadow Stalkers were indeed on their way, after a transmission of the assault reached H3 High Command. Suited in all black and carrying their signature BFG10k plasma assault rifles, the 1,000 unit force anticipated their arrival in southern Unreal Soldiers.

It had been almost 8 minutes since UNICRON engaged the EVAs. Performing constant power status scans, UNICRON impatiently awaited his enemies’ demise. Suddenly a 15m wide hole blasts through a section of its armor, causing one of the compactor walls to stop pushing. Coming out of the hole was a large lance-like object, moving at a high velocity. Immediately UNICRON began closing the gap within itself and renewed its effort to squash the EVAs. It now grew immensely desperate, and formed a gamut of weapon platforms inside of itself, all aiming down at their unsuspecting foes. Immediately a salvo of rocket, cannon, and plasma fire rained down upon the shields of the EVAs, causing no noticeable damage. The fragments of the missiles and shells were reassimilated by UNICRON to conserve ammunition, even though it knew this tactic was also futile. After 10 minutes of nonstop shelling, the mechanical monolith performed a final system power scan on the EVA units, estimating less than a minute left of power in each. Having not the slightest idea if they would indeed run out of energy like its calculations predicted, UNICRON began to worry for the first time since its creation.

“John, what’s goin on over there?!?!”

Black Mesa’s Lead Electrical Engineer, John Ellsworth, worked furiously at a control station, trying to get Black Mesa powered up again. He had personally designed the electrical system of the research facility, and he, nor anyone else, could have imagined the EMP blast UNICRON had just let loose. Even with the massive safeguards and shielding in place, the blast had shut down almost the entire facility. Though the blast was only about 10 minutes ago, it felt like Ellsworth and his crew had been working for years.

“I think I got it…Almost…Bennie, try to boot up again now!”

Ellsworth's intern, Mr. Hana, stepped into the ID scanner and typed in the boot sequence. Though Hana had only been interning at Black mesa for 7 months, Ellsworth had seen what he could do and trusted him as his personal assistant.

“Final commands entered, attempting boot now.” said Hana, confirming the order.

After a moments pause, a quiet buzz could be heard, then the lights flickered several times before remaining on.

“System checks…everything’s fine.”

Tapping his comlink, Ellsworth called up to the Security Sector, notifying them that Sentinel could be brought back to full capacity.

Wiping the sweat from his brow, he sighed at a job well done from his team. Noticing that one exterior monitor seemed to covered up, he moved for a closer look. Upon further inspection, he realized that the camera was not covered up, but that UNICRON was so large as to fill up the entire field of view.

Moving to another station, he brought up the external cameras, and reset them to their standard viewing modes.

EVA-00 fell, it's AT field being negated by Unit-05's. The armour was helping but it would soon be too late for Rei Ayanami. (EVA-02's leg armour dented because of ricochet, yes.)

UNICRON, what could only be sadistic pleasure, anticipated EVA 00’s shielding to go completely offline. Although it was not sure why the shield was beginning to fade, it did not care; as long as its enemies were vanquished, that was all that mattered. Still suppressing firepower on the three other EVA units, UNICRON readied its multitudes of cables to devour the downed unit. Sensing that the EVA had biological components underneath its armor, UNICRON turned off its heat generators to prevent the flesh from being incinerated. Coinciding with the drop in temperature, EVA 00’s shields went completely off. In the blink of an eye, the lightning-fast cables tore and ripped apart the unfortunate EVA’s armor and exposed the tender pilot beneath.

After capturing what precious metals it could find on EVA-00, UNICRON finished it off by grabbing the pilot and hoisting him up into its superstructure. The stunned pilot was not killed, but rather held down into a small chamber filled with pipes and high-voltage wires. UNICRON formed countless electrodes and probe-like devices on the ends of its tentacles, quickly latching onto the prisoner and giving him mild shocks. Several minutes went by as the probes continued to electrocute the pilot, until he finally went unconscious. UNICRON then began sending low amounts of electric current through the pilot’s brain, in hopes of activating the portion controlling the AT-fields. After ripping apart the armor of the EVA and finding no evidence of shield generation technology, it realized it must be the pilot who in fact created the AT-field. Putting this knowledge as well as the knowledge of how the first super soldier (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74955&start=0) was created, UNICRON systematically went through each neuronal pathway until it found what it sought after.

Less than a few miles away, the Sky Dragons carrying 1,000 Shadow Stalker special forces touch down and unload. The men quickly enter the Black Mesa lambda complex from the roof and secure it, in just under 15 minutes. The men, splitting up into four teams, reach the main command center just as John Ellsworth and his team finish rebooting Black Mesa’s infamous Sentinel security system. After declaring the area safe, the men head back outside and run over to where UNICRON is currently set. They see he is in the shape of a giant cube and can hear loud gunfire and explosions coming from what seems to be inside of it. Five minutes after securing the area they find a long shaft sticking out of a boulder, with bits and pieces of UNICRON trailing away. UNICRON, sensing the presence of the Shadow Stalkers, secures a transmission to their commanding officer 1st Ltn. John Chiero.

“Chiero, this is UNICRON. I am currently containing the enemies inside of myself and request your assistance.”

“Yes, go ahead?”

“I need you to retrieve that lance you’ve picked up behind me. Once you have it, set it down over there.”
A group of men drag the 250lb lance over to where UNICRON had specified, and watched as he quickly engulfed it within himself.

“Thank you Chiero, and now I require one more thing of you. I want you to bring me some of the Super Soldiers that Hitler III has stored here. They have files within their memory banks which are of use to me.”

“Yes UNICRON, we’ll handle it.”

Ltn. Chiero takes out his vidlink and patches through to Black Mesa security, ordering 700 of its Super Soldiers to be brought up to where UNICRON is. As ordered, the Super Soldiers appear before them on hovplatforms, just in time for UNICRON to begin eating them like popcorn. After devouring every last one, UNICRON now had what it required: faster processing power due to the consumption of multiple ChaoticCore processors. In turn, the speed at which it was searching the pilot’s brain for the right neuron sequence was greatly enhanced. In just over 10 minutes, the mechanical monolith had discovered the correct neuron sequence to generate the AT-field. Using the pilot as a generator, UNICRON formed a special wire connected to his brain and sent it down into the interior walls of the box where cannons of all types were still firing at full blast. It lowered down into the chamber, just above the heads of the other EVAs. UNICRON then signaled for his gunfire to halt and began generating the AT-field. Expanding out of the wire, the field quickly began to take up the entire volume of the box, halting at the interior walls. The field reached within 10 meters of the other EVAs’ fields and began to flicker as EVA-00s field did. UNICRON, by artificially generating a force field, now gained the upper hand it needed. It would only be a matter of time before the other EVAs ceased generate their own shields, leaving them open to assimilation.

Two mechanics from the Resi Corporation are watching the conclusion of this fight on TV. Their eyes scan over the low-definition image of the soon-to-be victor, and they watch as the UNICRON devours the Eva.
"Now why didn't we think of that?" one asks the other.
"Because we we've got better things to do," answers the other, simply, "we don't need something as needlessly complex as that monster."
"What do we have to do that's better to do?" the first mechanic turns to ask, "Watch TV? And in case you haven't noticed, the new mecha we're building for Mr. Resi is a mite more complex than that thing. I mean, it's standing Carbon-60 armor is enough to..."
"Sush!" shouted the second mechanic, "You never know who could be listening! You don't want to be giving away our secrets now, do you?"
"Who indeed could be listening?" a new voice asked.
Both mechanics turned in the direction of the voice, only to see a bright red shock of hair in the dim light.
"Oh, it's just you boss!" the first mechanic said, "We thought it was..."
"What do you mean, just me?" Washu asked, "Now I need you two back to work on the double! Those robots can't build the Protek-Z on their own, now can they?"
"Aye aye, ma'am." the two mechanics said in unison, before hurrying back to their posts.

Seeing as how the titanic battle bettween the EVAs and Uincron... I sent spys in to the very limit of the zone surrounding the battle and sent in Autominous Spy cameras to videotape the events... Once that happend, I sold live feed to the highest bidder, Billing it as:
"Worlds Greatest Battle!!! Watch it Live! Watch it NOW!!! See the Fight Of the Century! Time is Limited!!!"

Now as for the brain manipulation thing, think of it like that scene in X-Men 2: Xmen United where that guy in the wheel chair fools Professor Xavier into using the Cerebro machine to kill every human on Earth. Essentially he was putting him into an illusion by using mind control and was able to get him to use the machine even though if he was in control of himself he would never dare use the machine in such a manner. The same thing applies here, only UNICRON is using artificial means of mind control to get the pilot, Rei, to generate her own shield and channel it through a wire.

Now uhh... shouldn't all of the EVAs run out of power by now, considering none of them went into Berzerker mode or whatever? Its been a while since they began attacking... the manual says that their battery things only last up to 5 minutes by themselves, and I gauged extra time in case they had a backup... so unless they are carrying minifusion plants, I don't know what to do here. :lol:

OOC:Just to officially end the EVA thing

UNICRON, sensing a weakened state of the EVA’s, decided to change into his robotic form. The change is remarkably quick and efficient, taking only 45 seconds to complete. Standing over 2,000 feet tall, UNICRON calculates its next, and what it hopes to be final move against the EVA’s. Extending it’s gargantuan arms, it begins to form and AT shield. Increasing the power, the shields soon engulf the EVA’s, leaving them trapped inside. The EVA’s own shields weaken and drop, leaving them open for assimilation. Swarmed with grasping cables in seconds, the EVA’s are no more.

With the EVAs and their crew under its control, UNICRON alerted everyone at Black Mesa that the area was secured. Relieved with the news, Dr. Huard as well as the present military command order UNICRON to deliver the prisoners for questioning. As ordered, UNICRON ejects the four pilots from its massive metal body onto the ground, unconscious. The awaiting Shadow Stalkers grab hold of the prisoners and place them in military detention underneath Black Mesa. Meanwhile, UNICRON manuevers itself back to its original point of gestation and begins to retransform into its fake city mode. Black Mesa technicians link up to UNI's systems and begin standard diagnostic tests.

"Sir, we have a problem."

"What is it leiutenant?"

"The prisoners don't seem to speak english. We can't interrogate them at present, Sir."

"Hmm...that is a problem. Perhaps we should have UNICRON take a look at them?"

Colonel Robetai enters the control room where Dr. Huard and several technicians are performing scans on UNICRON's systems. Informing them of the interrogators' inability to communicate with the recovered pilots, the Colonel awaits for UNICRON to succeed where he has failed. Before Dr. Huard could respond, UNICRON boomed its loud voice before the assembly.

"There is no need for me to reassimilate them. I have the information you seek, it is being loaded onto your vidscreens."

Coincidentally, information about the pilot's homeworld and other specs pop up on the holographic screen in the room.

"So... these guys are from Underwater Asylum? Well they've certainly picked the wrong people to make enemies with... I'm going to personally see to it that UNICRON devours their entire planet one day."

"Rest assured Colonel, when I reach them there will be nothing left in my wake."

Resi, H3, this had better be worth the effort of watching it. I'm debating whether it's in character to help you people, but I'm holding back my own plans because of this RP.

It had been a week since the intruders battled UNICRON, and only two weeks before the massive machine would be launched into space. Unfortunately for the overseers of this launch, the massive shipment of space travel engines and equipment did not show up on time.

“Those damn thieves! We’ll teach them to take our money and not deliver!,” remarked a furious Keith Michaelsen. With almost no time left before the launch, it would be absolutely critical to get the launch mechanisms to UNICRON now. With this in mind, General Terzik of the H3 High Command authorized the use of UNICRON itself to personally go into the belligerent nations withholding paid-for equipment and steal it back. Not knowing what the equipment was going to be used for in the first place, Crimson Blades, Froggyliciousness and CoreWorlds would not be expecting a mountain-sized robot to invade their soil.

”Engage Operation Kleptomaniac!,” ordered the General at midnight April 22, 2076. UNICRON, receiving the signal, initiates its transformation sequence to turn into its original sphere shape and powers up its cloaking field generators. After 10 minutes, the machine is ready. Its first target: the Mama Phr0g carriers of Froggyliciousness.

At 3:43AM, April 23, UNICRON reaches the marshy ground of Froggyliciousness. Before setting any farther into enemy territory, it performs a topography scan, searching for the CoreWorld/Froggy shipyards where the carriers are stored. After determining their location to be due east, UNICRON hovers toward them at an alarming 140mph. After roughly 20 minutes of travel, UNICRON finds the shipyards and performs more scans to determine the exact location of the carriers. With a confirmation on location, UNICRON lashes out its thousands of cables and begins assimilating the space vessels into itself. In addition to high speed motion in a vacuum environment, the carriers also contained an armada of 500 interceptor aircraft and a weapon supposedly able to crush a planet. These enhancements, UNICRON thought, will become valuable assets in the near future. After this light snack, UNICRON decides to finish off the entire shipyards but receives a transmission from HQ to immediately proceed to the Bladian International storefront and disregard any of the remaining vessels in Froggyliciousness. Disappointed it didn’t get a chance to devour more, the lethal mech continues onward to its next target.

Arriving shortly before dawn in Crimson Blades, UNICRON performs another topography scan to determine the exact whereabouts of the storefront. To its surprise, the location is determined to be right below itself. Disguised as old apartment complexes and abandoned buildings, the stores had almost perfect camouflage, until UNICRON’s thermal sensors determined its prey to be in one of the subterranean hangars underneath the old buildings. Without effort, UNICRON forms a giant wrecking ball on one of its sides and smashes the structures over, then assimilating the steel support beams. It then transforms into its giant robot mode and thrusts one of its massive arms through the ground to reach for the hangar. UNICRON penetrates through to the subterranean storage, and begins prying the ground off of it to reach the aircraft below. With an opening exposed, UNICRON grabbed the first of its many snacks: an RS-Wasp CB-45 fighter jet. UNICRON studies the craft meticulously with its optical sensors, concocting its next grand scheme. In order to be truly powerful, it must command an army of minions to do its bidding. With that thought, UNICRON crushes the jet in its hands as cables from its fingertips rearrange the parts, ultimately forming UNICRON’s first minion: Starscream. Thrilled with its first creation, UNICRON follows through with the rest of the RS-Wasp CB-45s in the hangar and assimilates them. The giant robot then absorbs the hangar itself and the other scattered aircraft within, such as the Gigas CB-81 Flying Gunship. With its mission complete, UNICRON and its underlings fly undetected back to Black Mesa at 1,500mph, thanks to the atmospheric flight engine upgrades it had installed.

OOC: Well, I'm scared. Seriously. This thing is going to be the size of a planet and damned near indestructible. Right now, I'm glad I moved to another planet. I really doubt I could take this thing on. We'd need a Death Star or something to take this on. Heck, to beat it, I might have to call in the Borg. Please tell me this thing is barely FTL? Please? I'm going to need a bigger fleet...........and a clean pair of shorts.....

Ah, so that's what it means... No, Unicron isn't FTL and won't ever reach it. If you've ever seen the Transformers movie where Unicron originated then you'll know he never was able to do that... But it doesn't mean he's slow either. Right now he's capable of going 45,000km/h in a vacuum thanks to the upgrades from the ships it has been eating... which is much faster than anything that exists in real life now. I estimate further increases in speed in the future of this RP but I don't think it'll have any light speed technology... possibly teleportation but no hyperdrives or anything like that.

Oh thank the gods! But still, if that thing happens to find a wormhole, how am I going to hold off a planet sized war machine?
