Official Statement Released From The Credonian Imperial Palace

It has been decided by Emperor Sutton that citizens and government officials from the nation of Ozymandias IV are no longer permitted into Credonian territories until further notice. Due to increasing tensions, this is only a security precaution and will be dealt with in coming days. At this time, all Ozymandian citizens and officials are being rounded up and put on commercial airline flights back to Ozymandias IV. We are sorry for the inconvienence this may be causing the citizens. All will be sorted in coming days, and hopefully they may return later on. As it was stated, these are only security precations and in no way shape or form affects relations with this nation.

Also, all Ozymandian citizens coming from Ozymandias IV will be detained at Credonian airports and immediately sent back to Ozymandias IV at the expense of the Credonian governement.

The recent communique from Credonia shouldn't have taken anyone by surprise, but as usual it did.

"They're doing what?!?" shouted a watch officer in the Ministry of State. "Typical of that lunatic Sutton. Not using official channels and simply violating about a half dozen international treaties in the process..."

"Yeah," said the communications officer. "I can't think of too many people who will be sad to see that bastard put against the wall when the revolution comes. I guess we'd better send the message upstairs."

Within moments of receiving the notice, Deputy SecState Ower IX was notified of Credonia's latest outrage. Impatiently, he keyed the intercom to his secretary:

"Notify the Ruling Council at once," he said. "I'll draft a statement to send to Credonia for their approval within the hour..."

It took a long moment for him to calm his anger to the point where he could begin writing the official response to Credonia's actions. Eventually his work done and ratified by the Ruling Council, the message was wired to the madman Sutton:

The Republic of Ozymandias IV objects in the strongest terms possible the most recent illegal actions taken by the government of Credonia against innocent citizens of the Republic of Ozymandias IV.

Should one citizen come to harm through this illegal action, the Republic of Ozymandias IV shall hold your government responsible. We are not aware of any tensions between our two nations.

Yes, you abandoned our Alliance after refusing to take part in any meaningful discussions about its preservation. However, we did not view your actions as any cause to expell our citizens and business interests from your nation.

The actions of Emperor Sutton are and have always been the cause of any tensions between our two peoples. From his illegal take-over of the government through his ill-advised policies of military expansion and oppression, we have stood by and watched with horror as the legacy of his father was tarnished.

Now, as a final irrational act, you incarcerate and deport our innocent civillians. This latest outrage cannot go unanswered.

This message shall serve as official notice that all Credonian citizens, business interests and government officials shall be expelled from the borders of the Republic at the earliest possible time.

We regret this action, but we are forced by our policy of reciprocity to initiate the same odious actions against Credonians as their government initiates against our citizens.

A formal announcement of this policy shall be made via the usual channels after this message is sent.

In keeping with the Republic's long-standing policy of reciprocity in our international relations, the Ruling Council has declared that citizens and government officials from the nation of Credonia are no longer permitted within the Republic's territories until further notice.

Due to increasing tensions, this is only a security precaution and will be dealt with in coming days. At this time, all Credonian citizens and officials are being rounded up and put on commercial airline flights back to Credonia.

We regret that these actions are necessary, but until Credonia lifts this policy toward out own citizens, we have no choice but to follow suit.
