Official Statement of The Allanean President-for-Life

"Today, I hear with great sadness of a horrible crime committed by an Allanea citizen. That man was Jay August. He has willingly put Allanean children - and what children! our best! - in the path of danger, in the sights of murdering Edolians. While around the nation, we attend the memorial ceremonies of the seven victims of this crime, there will be no such ceremony for August - the man who got the children killed - murdered, actually.

Today, I also hear that, according to our approximations, two of the children - Alex Norton and Sheila Pollock - were not slain in the field of battle. They were taken prisoner - and then, as far as we can guess, tortured and executed. What the Edolian soldiers did to Sheila before she died - is anybody's guess. In their memory, a monument will be erected today in Port-Allanea.

We would note, further, that while the Edolians falsely label the crime as an act of terrorism, such label is irrelevant as in regards to the horrors committed by the Edolian oppressors. A prisoner (whether enemy soldier, common criminal, or terrorist - and Alex and Sheila were not terrorists - should NEVER be executed without trial, tortured, or worse."

"I should not even dignify this ridiculous accusation with a response. Jay August and his fanatics were responsible for the deaths of seven Edolians and destroyed a very expensive piece of equipment. In the interest of maintaining the peace and demonstrating our good-will, our government has not even demanded reparations from the Allanean government whose incompetant security forces failed to stop these fanatics from nearly beginning a war -a war that would have been disasterous for the Allanean people. We were justified in dealing with the situation with extreme force. We furthermore wish to reiterate that eight Allanean bodies were sent home for forensic examination. As we are sure your scientists discovered, each and every one of them had been killed by minigun and anti-personnel rocket fire. The only witnesses as to the capture of these two Allaneans are three children who I should remind you are guilty of treason against Allanea and murder in Edolia. We, again showing our willingness to avoid a conflict, have not demanded extradition of the two surviving terrorists and trust that Allanea's judicial system is up to the task of properly trying them."

Three technical points:

1.There were 11 people in that group. THREE came back. One of those bodies is not Allanean.

2.Two of the dead kids were shot up with miniguns AFTER they died.

3.A 9mm bullet was found in each of the last two bodies, different from the minigun ammunition.

We trust Edolia's forensic scientists. Edolia, while an opressive dicatatorship, is benevolent and their only abuse of their people's rights is ther lack of democracy. They would not torture or execute anyone.

The only source we have for the incriminating data is YOU.

OOC: Honestly, I read the first post of Allanea's about this, and nothing more, so I am, like the Feline government, in dark about the details.

My mistake. That was an OOC error though and not one that Matthew von Pickett would have made.

These points can actually be answered together. First, I mentioned that they had undergone extensive work by Edolian forensic experts (or made it quite obvious by implication). Specialists can get rid of a lot of evidence and one of the most obvious things they would have done would be to get rid of the incriminating ammunition. Furthermore, I would like to point out that a minigun really isn't a very subtle weapon. It's a big machine gun propelling hundreds of big, thick, high-velocity rounds per second into a person. You get hit by a burst of minigun fire (let alone an anti-personnel rocket) and there isn't going to be much left of you. There really isn't any way IC that you can prove with the bodies that any of them were captured and executed.>>
