ive been wanting to get onto the roleplaying forums for a while now, but i want to do right. i wanted to make a map of my country, but dont know where to get a program to this, any links, or suggestions would be appreciated.

I use photoshop, but you won't get it legally for less than about $700 or so.

I got Photoshop 7 legally from my cousin he got a copy from work... I still use paint

doomraiden or me are very skilled at doing maps on photoshop 7 (and I got it legally)
do a quick sketch and I'll do you a map

I mainly use Paint Shop Pro 7. Its quite good, u can edit just about everything.

Download gimp. Available for windows or *nix.
http://www.gimp.org, there's a feature that is all about maping maps, with many different textures.
