Executor of the Military Conrad Davidson noted that the Armed Forces of Tyrandis lacked a strong maritime power. Defense industries from all over the world were contracted to construct a naval force worthy of the Republic.
However, the citizenry of Tyrandis felt that the defense of the nation was being outsourced to foreign powers. To remedy this, Tyrandis Military Systems was hired to create a fast, powerful naval craft able to decimate fleets.
Noting that ships have a limit to how fast they can move due to drag, engineer Valerin Gregorovich and his team of designers came up with the idea of manipulating ground effect.
Eight Sea-Wolf turbofans propel the craft at 325 knots, allowing it to be the fastest naval craft ever developed.
The lift-drag ratio of the resulting design was extremely favorable, allowing prototypes to travel 1750 nautical miles without refueling.
After the standard chassis was complete, weapons specialists attached an extremely powerful MLRS system. Armed with 6 launchers, the Fenrir is capable of decimating flagships with it's Trident-XI missiles.
For protection against airstrikes, the Fenrir-class is armed with a SAM and twin .50 cal MGs.
Tyrandis is selling the Fenrir-class for 185 million USD
Brilliant, another realistitic user of WIGcraft.

(OOC: Oh, yeah. I love these ships! Caspian Sea monster yeah?)
anyway. Jordaxia would formally request five if these ships if you can guarantee that they work.
(Any plans to make the troop and armour carriers?)

Order confirmed and en route.
OOC: Yeah, I plan on making a larger version with cannons and machine gun emplacements for a troop carrier and an unarmed version as cargo. Since these things are extremely fast compared to ships but use less fuel and hold more cargo space than airplanes, I think this'll be Tyrandis's new heavy cargo workhorse.

Order has been confirmed and shipped.
FW: The MLRS launches Trident-XI antiship missiles, with armor piercing capablities and an explosive payload equivalent to that of five 145mm cannon rounds. The Trident-XI can drill through 12 feet of steel, allowing it to cripple most flagships with one shot.

I am currently making what you are describing (these things are so cool) but I dont have any that are actually designed for assault. I'll purchase 10. Thanks
(I'm planning on making an entire battlegroup made up of just these.)
Also did you know that Russia created about five of these about 25 years ago?
EDIT: Well obviously you did because where else would you get the pic.

Fauquier

OOC: I was starting to wonder when someone would finally market one of these. My nation began producing them not too long ago, but I've come up with several new ideas never tried in real life. Would be interesting to see how our different designs would fair if pitched against each other. Anyway, props to you for realizing how freakin' cool Ekranoplans are.
IC: The Republic of Fauquier wishes to buy one to experiment with and consider use in our fleet. Money wired upon aproval.

ooc: MLRS = Multiple Launcher Rocket System...that thing fires Missiles not Rockets, there is a vast difference. Just some friendly nomenclature advice. Although the M270 MLRS (American) can also fire LACMs it's primary function, and the reason behind its name is its ability to fire Unguided Rocket Munitions.
Order has been confirmed and shipped.

The Trident is a SLBM isn't it?

The Trident is a SLBM isn't it?
ooc: The RL Trident is indeed a Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile....however the XI designation is not currently in use, so I would either assume it is an upgrade to it, or an entirely new weapon.
However, we must stress how ineffective and utterly useless a Ballistic Missile would be in an Anti-Ship Role...
Tyrandis
04-04-2004, 16:34
OOC: It's a new weapon. The RL Trident is a submarine launched nuclear missile, but the one I'm using is completely new.
Also, I was thinking of the current MLRS in U.S service that fires missiles.

Tyrandis. I thought it was prudent to tell you that I am also commencing the building of Ekranoplans. We do not need to be in direct competition if you do not desire it, as the unique technology has extremely varied uses, so we can design seperate models, or combine our knowledge and unite to create a larger (and probably), more succesful store.
TG me back.
The Democratic Empire of Watertest would like to purchase 30 Fenir-class Naval MLRS\Support Frigates. Due to current\past world events, we think it would be wise to begin arming for a possible naval conflict.
