Monte Ozarka

As national defense is a major responsibility of the government, and relying on foreign imported weapons carries with it certain logistical difficulties, the Archduke Philip IV has declared a goal for the GDMO Defense Corps--the military must become logistically self-sufficient.
In light of that resolution, Parliament has passed legislation to achieve that goal. Firstly, it authorizes me to seek production rights to certain equipment used by our military. The weapons for which production rights are currently sought are:
1) M9 Beretta (We are currently using a Dundaine design. We hope to upgrade.)
2) Patriot missile system
3) Any other mobile SAM system
4) M249 SAW
5) HMMWV
Also, Parliament has also passed legislation authorizing me to further encourage weapons development. Let it be known that the Monte Ozarkan government has set up secret, highly-guarded facilities in which highly sensitive research, especially that of nuclear weapons capabilities, is being undergone. We hope that this action in coming out into the open will breed a sense of trust. Our nation is devoted to a cause against aggressive war and the use of WMD's in any situation, but only by the procurement of such weapons can our country much greater safeguard against such an attack upon it. Thus, do not be alarmed. No WMD research will be sold or exported to any country. Recent developments will be kept track of and updated.
