Daylam

OOC: OK, I know several nations already have parts of Egypt. Any of them can contest my claim, and I am not going to pretend that war is not going to result if nations fight it. The part I want is Cairo, the coast, the central region, and the Suez Canal. The bottom half and the rest of the Sinai I dont want/need. Obviously entering into the RP and being on the edge of Egypt is going to unrealistic, but give me a little artistic license here. I can delay my invasion so as to give all parties RP time to mobilize units into defensive areas if they are going to resist the advance. Let's RP!

In it's first and possibly its last act of incredible significance, the newly proclaimed Fatimid Caliphate of Daylam has laid claim to Egypt as it's ancestral homeland and birthplace of the First Caliphate. The entire military of the Fatimids, numbering over 2.2 million men [the United States, which recently downsized it's military, has 1.6 million, I have a militaristic society, if anyone thinks the number too large it will be downsized] has begun their inexorable march towards the Sinai Peninsula and the first step on the renewal of the homeland of the original Fatimid caliph to their successors. It calls on all Muslim nations, as members of the ulama [Muslim community], to wage jihad on anyone who opposes the restoration of the Caliphate. The move was long in the planning, from the first accession of Caliph Ibn Omar II. The Fatimid armies are equipped with only slightly outdated M-60A3 and M1A2 armor, while the Fatimid Air Force maintains its sqaudrons of F-16Cs. This is the cream of the armed forces, endless numbers of older Russian equipment is available to back-up the Western materiel.
East of the Sinai....
Jamal Arslan, Fatimid second-in-command who is in reality in charge of military operations, carefully checked and rechecked his strategy for the conquest of Egypt. His military mind told him it was a fool's errand, while his religious mind reminded him that the Caliphate must be restored. Already, the vanguard of the FAF had begun the first flights into Egyptian territory. Tank columns composed of T-80U forces were to be the first wave, followed by the crack units of the Fatimid army. Massive bombing runs were to be made followed up by huge tank assaults along possible defensive lines. After the ultimate objective was taken, Cairo, efforts would be made to bring any resisting nations to the bargaining table.
