The Pirate base alarm began to sound….Suddenly a the Tactical officer’s voice could be heard over the intercom…

*ALL FLIGHT CREWS…REPORT TO YOUR STATIONS*…

All throughout the base…Personnel scrambled to ready the fleet for departure…
20 minutes later the last ship departed the docking bay…And formed up with the rest of the strike force…The Fleet now numbered 14 partly in thanks to the fundage they got from the black market sale of the T.A.S Haul and an anonymous contribution from an unknown benefactor…12 Destroyer Escorts & 2 Battle Cruisers painted in black w/ red trim

On board the HGS Shadow Spirit…One of the newly acquired battle cruisers. sat Capt. Blackstone…

*All ships prepare for Cloak*…Helm contact Trinity base…Go “BLACK LIGHT”*…

*Aye Sir….Black Fleet Command to Trinity Base…Commence Op. Black Light*

*Affirmative Command…BLACK LIGHT….Confirmed*…

With that…The base disappeared from site…its Cloaking devise activated…

*Helm set a course for the Dimbari system….There’s a Star liner making a stop over…It’s got some very rich passengers aboard…Not to mention it’s holds are filled w/ Precious Minerals & Jewels*…

*Aye Sir….Course plotted and entered*…

*ENGAGE*….

The Fleet leapt into warp as one…..

5 days later….The Hand of Ganymede Fleet cruised towards home…The attempt at hijacking the Star liner was a failure…Capt. Blackstone sat in his chair with a scowl on his face…Though he knew his men were professionals…He could not entirely blame them for the failure…Who would have thought that a Star liner would be armed…When his fleet descended upon the Star liner…Everything was going according to plan…As his ships began decloaking...the Star liner Opened fire with it’s PDS…Point Defense System catching the HGS Banshee’s Scream with a full on strike to his unshielded hull…Inflicting serious damage…As the HGS Banshee recovered a little it began reacting with fury…it began to fire indiscriminately at the Star liner…Blowing holes thru it’s hull in several locations…The view thru the main screen showed horrendous damage to the ship…Several gaping tears & rents in the hull showed massive internal structure damage…Oxygen spilled out into space causing what appeared to be smoke as bodies of passengers were sucked out of those same rents…The rest of the fleet moved back outta range as the crew of the Banshee went berserk.

*I SAID CEASE FIRE YOU DUMB MOTHER FUCKER…..I wanted that ship intact and its passengers alive*…

Suddenly as if realizing its mistake the Banshee stopped its homicidal rage and swung around to face the rest of the fleet…As the Star liner continued to break apart behind it

*Capt. Monroe….You have violated the very precept of our code…You and your entire crew are hereby sentenced to death*

No sooner had he spoken the word then the entire hand fleet open fire upon the Banshee’s Scream…The Banshee’s Scream appeared to spin around only to be hit w/ even more disruptor blasts…As great chunks from the Banshee’s Scream exploded...The Star liner finally succumbed to it’s death and Exploded…Which seemed to coincide with the fiery destruction of the Banshee’s Scream which also exploded…

*SIR*…the voice jostled James outta his stupor…

*Contact bearing 119 mark 229…range 200,000km*

*Sitrep*…Suddenly the fleet sensed blood in the water per say and began cloaking

*Uhhhh…it appears to be a mining Freighter…WAIT...make that two freighters*

*It’s Ideed as a pair of Coreworlds Freighters….Sir*

*Telementry suggest Ore Freighters….Scans reveal them to be fully loaded with……Latinum and other ores sir…At least several Billion dollars on the black market*…

*Helm alert the fleet…Were going fishing…All ships prepare for boarding actions…I want them ships taken intact…Standard disable actions…Communications & Control*…

*Ops…Open Hailing Frequencies*…..*ATTENTION UNIDENTIFIED SHIPS…This is Capt. Blackstone of the Hand of Ganymede…You are ordered to stand down and prepare to be boarded…If you comply you will live to see another day…Shutdown your engines or be fired upon*

Several minutes later one of the freighters signaled capitulation and surrenders…the other powers up and makes a run for…but is quickly overrun and boarded…Its Crew “Spaced” for showing defiance to the Pirates….The Crew of the other freighter was given a fully stocked shuttle w/ it warp drive & communications destroyed/disabled…Their end of the agreement fulfilled…Manned by Volunteers from thru out the fleet the 15 ships (- the Banshee) power up and move off…leaving the shuttle alone in the vastness of space.

One of the freighters was actually carrying Tibanna gas, used to make the bolts of energy from blasters and turbolasers.

The loss of the freighters and a star liner greatly angered the people. President-Emperor Masaki ordered a Star Destroyer task force to track down and destroy the pirates, before more death and destruction occured. He also ordered the destruction of the pirate base, if it could be found.

In an ISD task force, there is 1 ISD, 2 Victory Star Destroyers, 3 Nebulon-B Frigates and 4 gunships as well as accompanying fighter squadrons.

The pirates will soon know what it means to anger the Imperial Republic.

The ISD task force revert to realspace at the last known position of the freighter's distress signal and start scanning for the pirates.

Capt. Blackstone sat in his Command Chair…His thoughts racing back to the destruction of one of “His” ships…Though the destruction was warranted thru the malicious acts of its crew…It left James w/o any option but to destroy it. The very precepts of his code called for the “preservation” of innocent lives…When the Banshee’s Scream’s wanton attack destroyed the Star liner and it’s roughly 1400 passengers…He was forced to act…Though he hated T.A.S, Coreworlds & CorpSac for there part in the death of his and many others families.

*Capt. I receiving a signal on a low band width….It appears to be a repeating pulse…It’s emanating from the freighters*…

All ships came to a stop and began to transport what ever valuables they could carry…As soon as one ship finished…it moved off behind the fleet and began Op. South 40….2 hrs later all ships…Except one were loaded to bear…the last one was tasked with the duty/honor of evacuating the freighter crews….

With that the HGS Orion’s Arm leapt at the Coreworldian Fleet in a suicidal charge…Firing disruptors and its photon torpedo’s without regard for safety



Op. South 40 is the seeding/planting of a very large high explosive minefield...Each mine is an Matter/Anti-Matter warhead...designed to propel itself at an enemy ship & detonate

Soon, scanners showed a small shuttle with barely any sign of life. When it was picked up, only a few of the people aboard were still alive. They were rushed to sickbay and basically dunked in bacta tanks. The medics say that it will be a while before they're out of danger.

Meanwhile, more long-range scans indicated that two large ships were sitting dead in space. The task force microjumps to the ships, and finds out that they were the lost freighters, with an escort.

Then, sensors picked up a ship firing it's weapons.
The ship targeted the Supernova, but the weaponry merely splashed against the shields.
"How are they holding?"
"95%, sir."
"Good. Return fire."
The ISD fired a broadside of heavy turbolaser bolts at the Orion’s Arm. Powerful green bolts of destructive energy lanced out at the ship, as it tried to make a suicidal drive for the larger behemoth.

As the Orion’s Arm weaved in & out of the big ships fire…Using it’s nimbleness & extreme manuverablity…Dodging 2 lances of enemy fire the Orion’s Arm ran head first into the 3rd lance of fire…The Energy washed over the shields with a tremendous impact…damn near stopping the ship in mid flight…

On the bridge of the Orion…it was udder chaos…Instruments overloaded and blowing out…blasting it’s technician back…Killing quite a few in the process…Capt. Weaver sat in his Command chair…bleeding heavily from the head…He slapped his comm. stud and croaked…

*Alright guys…I got there attention…go…shields are down to 45%...Massive internal and structural damage….63% of crew is dead or wounded…It’s all up to you…I’ll keep it busy for as long as I can*…With that…the 2 freighters began moving again…but not away from the battle they had turned around and were steadily advancing upon the biggest ship there…the one the Orion was attacking…

*Come on…More power dammit….has Stevens got the engines wired...and explosives attached to the cargo bays…that Tibanna Gas is highly violotile*…

As the big ship filled the freighters viewscreen…The Orion began another attack run…directed at the comms/sensor array to keep the big bastard blinded for a few seconds more….

*That’s it…we’ll within range….Okay everyone….this is it…”DEATH TO COREWORLDS”*….with that both freighters which had maneuvered to with close range of the big ship detonated simultaneously…

As soon as the freighters detonated…Capt. Weaver ordered the computer to perform attack maneuver Theta Omicron 1 Alpha….Then died….The computer obeyed it’s last command…and begin a containment overload of it’s engines….It then did a microwarp at the big bastard…So that it appeared that the Orion was in 2 spots at once…It’s engines screaming with pentup energy….Then it exploded in a massive detonation which when added to the simultaneous detonations of the freighters…Glorious sight indeed


...All the while the Coreworldian Fleet approached the minefield...

The explosions were powerful enough to reduce the shielding a lot. It will take a while to get it back to 100%.
"Sir, we're down to 35%! It will take about ten or so minutes for the shields to recharge. We lost a few turrets, but otherwise, the weapons are fine. Sensors are screwed, but we're working on them."
"Great." Captain Rendo sighed.
Suddenly, one of the fighters flying CSP (Combat Space Patrol) got too close to a mine, and the proximity fuse detonated, killing the pilot.

"We're running into a minefield, sir! Red 12 just got killed by one!"
"What? Open fire! Clear the minefield!"
The Destroyer and her escorts started firing at the mines, blowing them up. Most of the mines were destroyed, but a few got through, and impacted on the shields of the ships. One gunship was destroyed in the process, after being taken out by two mines.
All in all, it was a nasty trick by the pirates.
