Tourist visits Austar Union Capital

Tion III arrived in the Austar Union capital of Anatoba from a direct flight from the Republic of Ozymandias IV.

It had always been his ambition to visit the capital city of the AU to see the sights and experience the local culture. He'd heard his grandfather tell stories of the large beers during Ocktoberfest and he was looking forward to drinking a quart of lager himself...

He was rather shocked by the intense security in the international airport until he remembered that a large government conference was taking place sometime during the next few days.

He shrugged and joined the queue. His paperwork was in order. He had reservations at a nice, but not too expensive downtown hotel. He had nothing to worry about.

The line moved slowly and some regular businessmen from the Republic grumbled that entering the AU was always a chore.

"Why can't they find a way to speed this bloody process up?" one asked glancing at his watch for the fifth time in the last five minutes.

"They say it's a security measure," another man in a rumpled suit replied. "I guess they figure a terrorist won't have the patience to wait this long and will blow himself up here in this damb queue."

"He'd be doing us all a favour if he did," the first chuckled grimly.

"Is it always this way?" Tion III asked.

"Always." the second said.

"Though if possible I believe it's even slower now that they've got these extra security measures in place for the conference," the first added.

"NEXT!" a haggard customs officials called from his computer terminal.

The line moved forward imperceptibly...

Finally, Tion III was almost up the front of the queue, after waiting for what seemed like forever. Up the front, some balding man appeared to be arguing with a customs official.

"Whats so f*cking hard, to just let me through dammit!", yelled the man impatiently.
"Sir, if your not going to calm down, we're going to have to neutralise you." replied a security officer.
The man turns around to the rest of the queue, "Oh hear that everyone? They're going to have to neutralise me! Thats bloody fantastic!"

He continues to rave, "Alright, come on! Do your f*cking best!"
The security officer frowns, and reaches for his belt.
"Oooooo, what are you going to do?" continues the man, continuessly mocking security.

All, of a sudden, the man falls to the ground, seemingly paralised. The security guard stands over him, putting his stun gun back into his belt. Reaching down, he picks him up, and walks him off.

"Next!" yells the woman up the front. The line moves one forward, again.

The queue grew silent at the sight of guards dragging the man away...

Finally it was Tion's turn at the front of the line.

He was obviously nervous as the customs official began connecting him to the IDS.

"Just try to relax, there's nothing to this," the official said.

Right, Tion thought. You're not the one connected to a computer with the prospect of being dragged off somewhere to be beaten with a rubber hose if you fail this test...

"Reason for your visit?" the official asked.

"I'm, I'm on holiday..." Tion stammered

"Length of stay?"

"A week." and then suddenly he grew much calmer, realising that the questions were just standard procedure - albeit radically different from those at home.

The lady watched the large screen carefully, which detailed Tion's eye movements,

"Now for some more serious questions. I will ask you this questions five times. Dont worry, thats just standard procedure. Do you have any intentions against the Austar Union, its government, citizen, or allies?"

"Erm...no. I'm on holiday." Tion said.

The computer screen showed no sign of a lie. The lady speaks up;

"I will ask again, do you have any intentions against the Austar Union, its government, citizen, or allies?

Behind Tion III, a man who was a covert SoG JadeOps personnel, affiliated with the Combined 5CN JadeOps spoke up.

"Hey, lady, can we hurry it up? I have an appointment with somebody important," the man called.

The computer screen showed no sign of a lie. The lady speaks up;

"I will ask again, do you have any intentions against the Austar Union, its government, citizen, or allies?

"No, I'm here on holiday," he said a second time.

OOC - Can we just assume that he'll answer the question in a similar fashion the next three times?

OOC: Yeah, just pretend that he was cleared all three times...

IC:

Upon the passing of the test, the customs lady opened the gate, "Thankyou sir. You have passed the IDS test. You may go through..."

Tion passed through the customs' gate and picked up a tourist brochure on his way to the baggage claim area. Gathering his suitcase, he stopped at another desk to change some of his Rands into local currency and then left the airport to hail a cab.

Walking down the kerb, he selected the third cab in the queue. A silly superstition, but one he always followed...

Giving the driver the name of his hotel, he leaned forward to take in some of the sights.

"First time in Anatoba?" the driver asked.

"Yep. Is it always so difficult to pass through customs?" Tion asked.

"Well, since the crackdown on terrorism the government has been pretty serious about not letting anyone into the country. Plus you've come during an international conference so security is at an all-time high. That's why traffic is so bad..."

"Ah. I wondered what was going on with all the police on the street corners. It's like you're under martial law or something."

"No price too high to prevent a terrorist attack I guess. But it would be nice to live without fear again."

"Wow! Is that the art musuem?" Tion exclaimed looking at an imposing structure ahead.

"Yeah, if you like that sort of thing I reckon there's none finer," the driver replied. "I understand that they're hosting a year-long Cubism exhibit."

"Great. There's so much to see and do, I don't know where to start..."

"Probably at your hotel," the driver said with a grin. "It's up ahead there on the left."

Tion paid the driver, and went into the hotel to check in. A quick swipe of his credit card and he was heading upstairs to his room.

After a hot shower he was feeling ready to explore the city, but instead he turned on the television to relax for a bit...

After an hour, the telephone rang and the front desk transferred an international call to his room.

"Hello?"

"Was your flight purple?" the voice in the receiver said.

Every muscle in Tion's body went rigid...

"Would you like to see the museum's red painting?"

Tion continued to remain motionless with the phone to his ear...

"I understand that a club nearby has a band that plays the blues..."

The line disconnected and Tion stared at the receiver....

In the meantime, at the National Security Agency, a computer was recording the entire conversation. On its screen, it was giving notice to agents that the call contained three random statements, and that the file needed review.

Two hours later, a man came up to the computer, to check how everything was going. Setting down his doughnuts and coffee, he sighed. This was going to be yet another long night.

Opening the file on the computer, he sipped his coffee, and began to listen to the recorded conversation.

Ozymandias IV, why do you make MULTIPLE posts, just put everything in ONE long post. that gets annoying

OOC: Heh... I would have thought he could post however he like, perhaps he posts more then once because he's always coming up with something else minutes later.

Anyways, continue the way you want Ozymandias IV, personally I use small OOC text because half the nations hate me for doing it.

OOC - We usually make multiple posts because of the bloody servers playing havoc with our messages and instead of leaving three posts of the same thing, we break it up so it doesn't look so terrible...

Of course one could ask why Credonia makes so many OOC comments without marking them as such, but why be petty?
