Delta Green Prime Exploration (Open rp, future tech)

Underwater Asylum

(UA broadcast after introduction)
We need more people to help us explore DGP. Any technology will belong to us of course, but will be shared with those who help. Combat is possible, even likely as Exp. Group B-12 went missing a few days ago.
Underwater Asylum
31-03-2004, 12:09
Does anyone care?
Underwater Asylum

Why must you all spurn my attempts?
31-03-2004, 12:34
Forgive us for our ignorance but Kreyharnor is a small nation. What exactly do you mean when you say "DGP"?
Underwater Asylum
31-03-2004, 12:35
Delta Green Prime. A planet with ancient stuctures. Very cold.
31-03-2004, 12:38
Intruiging.... And how will the exploration assist Kreyharnor, should we indeed assist?
Underwater Asylum
31-03-2004, 12:40
Technology, financial benefits etc.
31-03-2004, 12:43
We see... Kreyharnor will assist in the exploration of your planet. If you will, would it be possible to request allies to assist in the exploration.

(OOC: How would we do this? Sorry, Im just really new to the game.)
Underwater Asylum
31-03-2004, 12:45
Yes. And just play as your team leader. When you reach DGP transmit the following docking code: 77XC56@
31-03-2004, 12:51
OOC: No, what I meant was are we going to play in the forum or over telegram or what?

Your pilot guides your ship down onto the landing pad. A voice comes over your speakers "Please head straight to Admin."
31-03-2004, 13:00
Commodoor Faley and his leftenant exit the ship and stare in wonder at their surroundings as they walk to the admin desk. "Commodoor Faley, of the Royal Navey, requesting orders." Faley says to what looks to be the man in charge at admin.

The short grey responds "Welcome to DGP. If you are here for trade take the left corridor. For military reasons take the right. And don't stay outside too long, it's -120 degrees celsius" (If thats more than absolute zero, then consider it absolute zero)

"Commodoor, I dont like it here," says Lt. Juno Carra, the leftenant, "This place is weird... unatural."
"Well were on it now, Carra," said Faley "not much we can do exept find whatever's down here."
"Yes sir, I know,"
Eventually the straight narrow corridor takes them to a T intersection. The sign on the wall Reads: "<---- Recon/Intellegance Barracks---->"
The officers head left.

OOC: Sorry for the lateness, my internet was playing up.

Grey. Sterile. Unnatural. The base is all of those. As you walk through the door you see some enviro suits and a shortish pig on two legs wearing some armour. "I take it yer the new recruits?" A short grey walked through holding a paper bag. "Supply ship just came in. Managed to blag us some donuts"

-300 degrees celsius"

OOC Whoa! That's under absolute zero (the lowest temperature possible). If it were possible to produce that low a temperature, your men would freeze to death as they entered the lower atmosphere!

I'm not trying to disrupt your Rp, or anything, but you might want to rethink that temperature..... 8)

Hello?
01-04-2004, 11:52
OOC: yeah, -300 is a bit much, lets make it 200 ok? I think the limit is something like -267. Thats when matter breaks appart anyway, but it is impossible to achieve a lower temp than that.

In Char: "Thanks mate," said Faley, "We arent actually recruiting into your army though, Kreyharnor flys her own flag in battle. Whats happening anyway? HQ was a little vauge about what were doing up here."

"I'll let Lieutenant Maa'solaas field that one" He snorted and took a donut out of the bag. M. turned and extrapolated further "Well, we were doing routine colony scans when we discovered the structures on the surface so we sent down a team. They reported advanced technology present so we came down here. Donut?"
01-04-2004, 12:21
"Thanks," Faley took a chocolate covered jam filled donut from the bag and munched contently. Carra turned the offer down with a shake of the head.
"Do you know the time?" he asked "I can barely tell which way is up."
"You'll have plenty of time to get over it," Faley said between mouthfulls "Actually right now I need something to drink and a hot shower. When will we be going in, M-Ma, uh Lieutenant?"
Underwater Asylum
01-04-2004, 12:43
"The showers are over there. And it is 9:43 earth standard time. We should be heading in within the next 48 hours."

IC: Faley nods his head. "'ey Juno, make sure you call in the lads before you get smashed ok? And I dont want find you asleep under some table either," he said with a wink. "Thanks for the donut. Sir, Lady. Seeya Carra." Faley gave a quick salute and then he was off.

"Alright lads," he begins "Today we go out onto that icecube to serve our country. Now were all nervous being out here I know, but think about it. I know for a fact all of us have seen combat before, and to me this is gonna be the same as always just in your home freezer. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll find anything out there to test our mettle against just rocks and snow. But if we do find anything I want you all to be ready. "Premier, as you know, the nation of Underwater Aslyum has recently colonized a frozen planet. Also, they've requested some military assistance. Apparently, something is amiss in that frozen hell hole."

"I see. We cannot afford to deploy a signifigant amount of forces, but a single squad of elite troopers should do. Make it so."

"Yes, premier"

A single Avatar transport docket with the CFV Unyeilding Pwnzor. The Unyeilding Pwnzor opened a hyperspace vortex and entered it. In a trip that took two days, yet for the crew seemed like seconds, the dreadnought emerged a reasonable distance from the colony.

"Alright men! As you know, we've been tapped to investigate one frozen hell hole. We are going to dock and make contact with the government on this colony, and well, investigate. Any questions?" Colonel Bailey was briefing his squad of troops. Something didn't feel right about this mission, though...

"What kind of firepower are we going to have?" One of the heavy weapons troopers chimed in.

"No heavy weapons, merely our powered armor, and the flechette rifles. No rockets, no tac-nukes, no tanks." Bailey replied

"Get suited up, we launch in fifteen!" He continued.

The troops suited up in their combat powersuits and made their way to the launch bay. They got into their specially equipped transport (the Avatar usually carries fifty men, this one carries half to make room for more guns.) The ship launched and made its way to the planet.

"Attention control, this is CF Avatar transport 47, requesting permission to dock. Sending landing code now." *Code sent*

A flash of light appeared in Delta Green Prime's atmosphere, rapidly resolving itself into a boxy looking craft, with what looked like a giant dry-erase marker strapped to its dorsal surface. The ship was spinning wildly as it plummeted.

"You Idiot!" Hambrabi yelled at the gray-haired scientist over his head. (In the tumbling vessel, up and down were of little value.) "'We need to test the Drive' you said. 'What are the chances of hitting the planet?' you said!"

"Now, now, my dear anthropologist," the scientist cooly replied as his hair whipped around his face, "You should have been more securely fastened, and I'm certain the good Captain can regain control."

In the transport's cockpit, Captain Sarah Lane smiled, despite struggling with the atmosphere for the right to live. After another minute, she managed to slow their descent, and lined them up for landing. "How is everyone back there?"

Dr. Singh gave a cheerful thumbs up, obviously pleased with the performance of the experimental fold-space drive. Hambrabi muttered that he had known easier reentries, but was unharmed. And in the very back, silent throughout the crisis, MSgt Knowles nodded.

The crew of the ship were all close friends of Commander Haase, who had suggested that they assist Underwater Asylum in its exploration of DGP. "They did sell us those defense platforms," he had told them, "So we should show our appreciation. Besides, I understand Dr. Singh has a new toy to try out."

The communications panel beeped, and Sarah moved to send the landing code they were given. "This is the New Exodus exploration team, requesting permission to land; code is 77XC56@"

A voice crackled back, "Roger, you are cleared to land. And by the way, nice flying."

Erickson Stood in front of his men looking around at his new surroundings. The room was large enough for them all to sleep in. They threw their bundels of gear onto their bunks and then went back out to their ship to grab some of the heavier stuff they would be needing to head out. Erickson also left the room but instead of going for heavy gear we walked to where he had come in from and asked where the greys wanted his team to begin to explore....

MSgt Knowles trudged down the corriders in the direction the Grey had gestured. It was colder than his ex-girlfriend, but the strange creatures didn't seem to mind a bit. Behind him, Dr. Singh was chatting with Hambrabi. That is, Hambrabi was glaring at the scientist, who chattered to himself.

"Quite amazing, these Greys. You know, I wonder if they are in any way related to those transgenics in Antarctica, you know, the ones that were wiped out after the Collapse? I had always considered it such a shame that they all died during that incident with the Templars..."

Hambrabi lost his temper. "What the hell are you talking about, you senile old bag? What _transgenics_, what _Collapse_? You fell asleep playing that ancient video game didn't you!?" Hambrabi's accusing finger forced Singh to respond truthfully. "I.. may have..."

Walking in front, Captain Lane whispered to her enlisted counterpart, "Dustin, why does the Commander keep those two around?" Knowles turned and favored her with his trademark psychotic salesman grin, "He wants to see how long Hambrabi can keep his sanity."

OOC: Thanks for telling us where to go.
IC: "Alright thanks for the briefing." Said Erikson. "And for the dropshipt too but we are going to take out own lander out ther if you don't mind." "Move out boys."
The team now in heavy winter clothing and electically heated suits clunked off towards thier ship. They stopped at their room first and grabed all the gear in there that they had just brought in a day ago. Erikson got everyone up the ramp to the lander before he got in and closed the door behind him. The ship was nice and warm compared to the freezing enviorment outside. Pete the ships pilot warmed up the ship in 5 minutes and then it lifted off taking the short flight to the large spire that loomed ominously in the ships cockpit view. Landing at a suitable spot the crew donned their really heavy gear. Basically they were surplus army spacesuits with armor and electronics to boot. The two surplus power armor suits were also donned by Riely and Mark who quickly began moving gear into the snow and ice below the ship. Relaxing in an unmarked break room, the New Exodus contingent mulled over the briefing they had received. Hambrabi, cynical as ever, was questioning Captain Lane.

"So, we are expected to go into a massive, unexplored underground facility, which has already claimed the lives of a previous team?"
"Right."
"And we don't know who built this facility, or why?"
"Correct."
"And we will be accompanied on this mission by several platoons of soldiers from nations that we are not necessarily allies with?"
Sarah sighed, "Yes."
"And the nation that requested this of us is only known to us beacuse of an arms shipment?"
Sarah just turned for the door. "Get some rest, we're going in tomorrow," she said flatly. That was all there was to it.

"Copy that, sorry, but this is OH's Capital Warship." he apologised. The ship slowly loomed up to the docking bay, and with some skill, Liquidus managed to get Robin in. With that, Robin's wings closed, and a huge ramp came down from it's belly. Liquidus, escorted by a few Guards, came down the Grey Ramp, and stopped at the bottom of the Ramp, awaiting the welcoming Party. Liquidus was merely doing this to make sure the Infiltration Soldiers weren't spotted.

Meanwhile, behind Liquidus, the cloaked regiment of Infiltration Soldiers moved soundlessly around Liquidus, and took up Ambush posistions. The Cloaked Soldeirs had ground-breaking technology. Not only were they cloaked, but no sensor system, or auto-matic gun-turret could detech them. The soliders' body heat was kept in by the exo-skin suit, as thin as skin. They were armed with Sensor proof weaponry, such as the War in Heaven Mark V Heavy Plasma Rifle, Sub-Space detonation Charges, and the Guided EMP Generators (they work like a machine gun and looks like it). The other Regiment of Infiltration Soldiers (that don't have cloaks), awaited inside the ship...

Liquidus shielded his eyes as it exploded, and then, the Regiment of Un-cloaked Infiltration Soliders (these in Full Commando Armour, like Stormtroopers, but Beefier) ran down the ramp, and by the time the Party had recovered, the Soliders has surrounded the Party, Rifles held at their chests. Liquidus walked foward to the welcoming Party, grinning. "You were right to be suspicious my friends, but obviously your Leaders have neglected Welcoming Protocols. After five hours of walking, Capt. Lane, Dr. Hambrabi, and Dr. Singh had finally met up with MSgt. Knowles. Countless stories above their heads, the standoff had ended, but the audio taps Dr. Singh had left behind revealed a new threat. Invaders had stormed the landing facility, and the foreign contingents had charged off to fight them. It was now solely up to the tiny group from New Exodus to ensure that whatever was buried in here would fall into the right hands; namely, theirs.

"Glad you could drop in," Dustin said gruffly as he finished prying the odd alien doors open for the rest of the team. "I've found something." "Lead on, Sergeant." They followed Dustin into a maze of hallways, until they came to a looming metallic door with a lit green sign over it. The script was not recognizable, but Dr. Singh pulled out a small scanner from his pocket. "This," he said proudly, "is my Universal Translator. Some say it is something of a God-mod, seeing as how our nation hasn't had much experience with extra-solar sentient species, but I figure it does not matter as this is an abandoned thread." "Yes, as a matter of fact we are from a nation, and we are not from this hell hole. We ended up her by accident, so, give us part and then we will leave, no, we will take it all, then go back to the Tsurani, from there we can arrange a transort back to Exodus, how does that sound?" Dustin glanced over to Capt. Lane, who simply shrugged. "Sure, why not."

With the help of the Eldar, the door was blasted open, revealing...

The explorers cautiously entered the brightly lit room. Seeming to sense their presence, alien music began to play. Though the language was unrecognizable, the music is obviously some sort of catchy jingle, and the explorers find themselves desiring whatever it is the song is about. "These signs all seem to be advertisements for entertainment devices. According to the plaque on this column, these products were deemed to addictive to the general populace, and thus were sealed away that later, more resistant generations would find them," Dr. Singh scanned the next portion, "34 of the construction workers fell to the addiction while building this place, and were put down out of compassion."

"Hey," Dustin called, "Look at these." He had found a cluster of strange figures, arrayed on a miniature battlefield. Dr. Singh scanned the plaque nearby. "Don't touch them! These figures were from a war game, but the pieces were coated with an addictive substance. Even handling them might get you hooked." Dustin glanced around the table. "Seems like it was too late for those two." On the other side, two preserved alien skeletons in what looked like worker's coveralls lay beside a small group of the figures. Sarah wrinkled her nose. "The poor fools must have been locked in here, and spent their remaining time playing the game. They never got out."

They continued walking around the room, finding several holo-card games featuring strange creatures, holo-projectors displaying aliens fighting with bladed weapons and magic, and even another group of figures on a battlefield. Though no one noticed, some of the figures vaguely resembled Del and the Eldar...

(OOC: I have no idea what they should find. It should be something very useful for both of our nations, and there should be enough to share. ... The entire experimental team was sitting in a small room, which was made up into a crude sort of camp. "Oh thank you for finding us," the lead researcher said. "This room was some sort of janitor's closet, but when we entered to examine the aliens' sanitation devices, the door locked behind us!" Dustin was the last one to walk in, and so did not hear what the scientist said. He slammed the door shut. "Why are you all looking at me like that?" Dr. Singh raced to the young man's side. "It is all okay. I have just the item to get us out of here." "Explosives?" "Fusion torches?" "Teleporters?" Dr. Singh reached into his pocket. "None of those, just a credit card." He deftly slipped the card along the doorframe, popping the lock open. "There, wasn't that simple?" Several of the scientists started to cry. "You mean we stayed in this tiny room for a week, unsure if we would live or die, when we could have just opened it with a credit card?" Capt. Lane moved quickly to change the subject. "Tell us about your discoveries here."

The scientists blathered on about the revolutionary cleaning tools the aliens had developed, including some sonic scrubbers, (ooc: you might want to take one with you, since the tech might have military uses) and eventually got around to an odd fact they had gleaned from the janitor's diary. "Apparently," they said, "he was something of a scientist himself, and had an extensive collection of molds, fungi, and dirt. By far, his favorite had been this stuff" they gestured to four transparent containers of a rocky mineral-like substance, with the occasional glowing purple crystal poking out. "He referred to it as Sewall Fungus, yet we think it is some sort of self-replicating mineral. The last couple of pages in his diary, other than mentioning one of those games outside, were filled with references to the Sewall Fungus. Sadly, we haven't been able to translate them yet."

Dr. Singh walked over to the diary, and began scanning the data into his Universal Translator. Del and Capt. Lane read over his shoulder as the translation scrolled across the screen:

-This stuff will make me rich! I've never seen a fungus like this before, but that would make sense, because I've never been this deep underground. It only forms under intense pressure, and requires heavy minerals to be present. The end result is not only something that seems to grow, but it can be used as incredibly potent and stable fuel!-

Captain Lane and Del smirked at one another, then switched off the Translator, much to Dr. Singhs displeasure. "Its just some useless fungus, and for all we know, it could be dangerous," she lied. Del joined in, "Yes, you should let us dispose of it for you." The scientists agreed, and handed two of the containers to the Eldar and two containers to the New Exodus team.

Within four hours, the scientists and explorers had brought all the alien artifacts to the surface, and were loading them onto Del's ship. There was no sign of the other teams, so the Eldar had decided to drop the scientists off on the nearest Underwater Asylum world, before taking the New Exodus citizens back.

"Now, I belive you wanted to learn about Necrons? Well, I will tell you. Please save all questions to the end.
The Necrons are a group of robotic creatures that work on a powering system of life force. THis, unlike their bodies, never runs out, thus creating them almost Imortal. They worship some creatures that have power that would be expected of the gods, but not powerful enough to fight the Tsurani, christian or muslem god. These tried to take the universe, but failed, for there was no point for them otherwise. Now, the good thing about them is they can power robot bodies witb any type of life, no matter how small, thus they are usful no matter where we send them, for they reproduce. The robots themselves are hard to kill, and somehow can recover from the worst damage, yet sometimes they don't, and most of the time it takes the rest of the battle to finish repairing itself. They are great warriors, following the tomb's orders to the letter. We could sell you some if you like, but they are expencive, and require at leat one world to harvest." He smiled. Just then a light flashed. "Look out the window to see the Wonder that is our home world.
