Schultaria Prime

OOC: This is an extension of a technology RP that Doujin and I were working on that never got off the ground. It is open to all people under one stipulation.
+ You must send an official document in this thread stating who is arriving to attend this demonstration prior to RPing; also, their methods of arrival would be nice too.
-The story: Four years after Doujin came to Schultaria Prime's aid with a attempt to produce their first indigenous nuclear reactor, Schultaria's scientists feel comfortable enough to construct their second original reactor design. The new reactor, simply known as "Mark III", was built using the ideas of the late Schultarian Professor Haarvekord, of whom the entire foundation of Schultarian nuclear research has been based. Months of testing and intensive computer simulations have led to this date, and this time everyone in the project is certain that the reactor will lead Schultaria into a more prosperous scientific age.

Sitting at side by side desks, two figures were furiously scribbling complex equations in the margins of several folders. Fatigued by nearly living on fast food and caffeine pills, both appeared on the verge of emotional and physical collapse. Nonetheless, they pressed on writing.
"Katherine, I want you to make sure that the reactor tamper constants are in the correct units of measurement. The last time we tried to simulate a full scale reactor shutdown, the computer nearly fried itself."
"Don't worry Douglas, all of my numbers should check out. Perhaps we should get some rest and let the graduate students take over; we've been working on these procedure checkbooks for the last sixteen hours and if I don't see another fission diagram until tomorrow it'll be too soon."
Footsteps approached, and a tall figure stood imposingly in the doorway. However, neither of the two hunched-over professors were overly intimidated by the man's presence. Rather, both looked at him simultaneously, gave a warm smile, and turned their heads back to the mound of books growing on the conjoined desks.
"Hello Mr. Edwards," the woman serenely said, "I thought you would be present for our newest accomplishment. I hope that your trip from Doujin was pleasant?"
"Yes, thank you Ms. Ormich," Edwards said, "however I will not say tha.."
"Don't give us that diatribe again Edwards," barked Professor Douglas Kronsen, "it took us every ounce of our patience and four years of academic mockery by the government to get this far. Now that we have a chance to finally redeem our research with no repercussions, would you not want us to continue our work?"
"Of course..." Edwards said flatly, "I just wanted to say that although I still think Schultaria is a long way off in the technology of Nuclear Physics, you have made some definite strides."
Both professors stood up. Tired and haggard, they shuffled towards Edwards with wry smiles and several reams of checklists and laboratory notes.
"You know, I think that is the nicest thing you have said in three years Mr. Edwards." Katherine said with genuine thankfulness, "Care to celebrate our achievement with a nightcap?"
-Both Professors Ormich and Kronsen knew that tomorrow could be the day that determines their livelihood
