The Sultan sits in his office, looking over treaties and trade agreements when Admiral Edwards strolls into the room.

"Sir, I have something you might want to see."

"Excuse me, Admiral, but I'm rather swamped."

"No, sir. You NEED to see this."

Glancing over the schematic, the Sultan glances up, looking like a little boy at Christmas.

"Are these what I think they are?" The sultan gasps.

"Yes, sir; stealth. So far we can only apply it to small crafts, but even small crafts can pack a powerful punch, sir. We're still working on R&D, and contacting Taka for a specialist to design a carrier."

"Carrier? Haven't been used for.. ages, really. You have my full support in this, continue on."

"Thank you, Sir."

Only a few moments later contact has been made with Taka and Edwards sits down to conference.

Hiroshi Kane was awoken up by three members of the Void Clan's intelegence agency standing over his bed. He reached for his family sword, mumbling "you know the code", as he stumbled out of bed.

"perhapse next time Mr. Kane, your skills have been requested this time, not your death."

"oh? Has the Prince forgiven me for my. . . miscalcuation with Project Evangelion?"

"I wouldn't say that. . . however he is willing to give your particular. . . version of genious, anouther chance. We have a nation requesting a carrier for stealth fighters. . . and we wouldn't want to keep the nation waiting, would we?"

"Why are you giving me this Job?" he asked, suddenly suspicious "or is there something behind this that I am failing to see?"

"simply, Mr. Kane, the income our nation would recieve from you making a sale of this size, and from taxing your income would be benificial. . . you of course, can refuse, though if you do, I recomend you fetch your sword." He let the threat hang in the air, and Hiroshi knew he would be dead the second he drew the blade.

"very well, but under one condition. . ."

"you are in no possition to made demands, Mr. Kane" the large, dark garbed man said

"And you have no one better than me in designing and producing starships. . . I'm known for producing miracles, and thats what you need right now, isn't it?"

The two void clansmen looked at each other, while the third, the speaker nodded his head

"very well, make your demand"

"Absolution. . . I do this, I an given Carte Blanche for my crime. . . deal?"

The void clansman nodded, quickly penning in a clause in the contract.

Hiroshi signed it, and within the hour was preparing for fold towards the New Hope system. His shuttle touched down outside the gates of a massive palace, and he stepped off and into the midmorning sun. He shook the sleep from his eyes, and readjusted his kimono.

"jetlag has nothing on faster than light lag" he said grumpily, stepping towards the gate.

Darius greets Kane at the front entrance of the palace: "you are 'Kane,' are you not?"

Kane agrees

As they march down the long halls, Darius briefs the Takan engineer as he tries to keep up in his cumbersome kimono

"Well, you are to begin sketches and planning immediately. You're station is in the palace; this guard will escort you to your place. You're to be finished within the next 6 weeks so construction can begin. From there on you shall act as foreman. This job is to be completed in 1 fiscal year."

Kane tries to interject but is quickly put down by the continuous speech of Darius.

"Here are the specifications for the crafts the ship is to carry and how many are to be carried."

Darius shoves a huge file into the designer's stomach, forcing a colossal "Oof" out of Kane's throat.

"You will not have to worry about design and production of the launch crafts, our own engineers have this well in hand."

As the guards shove Kane into his office, Darius smirks and says, "Thank you." As the doors slam in Kane's face.

"I'd rather deal with the Prince's death squads" he mutters as he begins the process of pulling through notes and design specification.

"They want it fast, powerful, stealthy, well armored and able to carry many craft, but also cheap. . . Holy Emperor, I've pulled off Miracles before, but this. . . bah"

He begins to write down deck plans, his mind wracked as he runs intricate calculations on the ship and it's specification.

"This is why you don't let admirals design ships. . . they want the impossible, they want it cheap, they want lots of them, they want them both big and manuverable, they want them flashy and at the same time obscure. . ." he continues to list the contradictions as he pens out the project deep into the night.

************************************************************

Four weeks of sleepless nights passed slowly, Kane only emerging for more supplies, and the odd midnight snack to keep him from passing out due to hunger. The demons in his mind had returned. . . a gift from Adam fourty years before, when he was a child, and the phantom of his newest starship tugged him to carry on. He starteld the guards by emerging suddenly, walking into the sunlight for the first time in a month. In his hands, a small disk. . . the condenced version of mounds of paper and plans.

"Fetch Darius. . . his demon has been completed" he mumbled, waving the holographic projector disk, marked simply "Project Oni".

A palace guard proceeds into the diplomat's private quarters “Kane has completed the design, sir.”

“Oh, thanks, Bill. See you at the game tonight.”

“Of course, sir. If you’ll follow me.”

They proceed down the great halls of the palace until they meet Kane, standing ready with the disk.

“It is complete, you say?” Darius questions.
Taka

In answer, Kane slides the disk into a miniature player, bringing up a small, compact ship. Ugly as sin, it is obvious that this ship serves on purpous, and one purpous only. . . to bring death to the unwary. It messures just over 300 km, with four inches of armor and enough weaponry to give pause to any pirate attacker, and to hassle larger ships foolish enough to come within range expecting easy pickings. It's underbelly sports the brunt of its attacking power, however, as row upon row of attack craft, troop transports and armed shuttles stand ready to deliver its crew to the enemy. Small and cramped, it was designed with efficentcy in mind, to the expence of it's crew's comforts. It would not be pleasent to serve on, but it would be livable, deadly, effective, and most importantly, cheap.

"Six billion" Kane said, to the unasked question "I can produce the first for twelve, but once your men have the process down and we have the machinery in place, it will run only six billion dollars to create each one. When can I start production?"

"I see you spared every expence in cosmetic value... but it will do, especially for the price. Our budget is ever expanding with new investers, but this is cheaper than expected. You get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow will be a VERY busy day."

The next day at the crack of dawn, a comm. link into Kane's room buzzes with a feminine voice coming through. "Mr. Kane? Mr. Kane? Mr. Kane, you are to report to the docking bay of the palace immediately for transport to Shipyard at Lagrange 1. Sir?"

Kane stood in his tiny room, breathing harshly as the sun rose, sweat pouring from him after his early morning workout. The intercom buzzed and he scooped up what few personal belongings he had, pausing a moment before sliding his family sword into his sash. By the time he hit the buzzer to respond, he was packed and prepared to go.

"yes, I'm here, I will be there shorty, though send someone to assure my notes are taken with me as well, I need them to build the ship."

He stepped out into the sunlight, sword tapping against his side as he walked down the hallway.

Two guards soon arrive to pick up the notes and escort Kane to his transport. They ride up to the shipyard where they ride the lift to a lookout point in the command center. From there you could easily see that ships had already towed in materials necessary for construction of the frame. All that was needed was for Kane to load the plans into the central computer and begin his job as foreman.

Nine months pass by quickly and the ship takes shape. It is the day of combat trials. The target? Combat drones. Because the primary defence and offence of the ship will be it's fighters, only light attacks are placed upon the carrier. After a firestorm of tracer fire and explosions it is found that the ship has sustained minimal damage. It is ready for production.

"Congradulations, Kane! It works perfectly!" Admiral Edwards nearly shouts in glee.

"Of course it works" Kane says, standing at the doorway "I made it, and it will serve you as well as you serve it. That starship is alive, a living, breathing, growing and learning being. It will not forget foes, and it will not forsake friends. . . treat it well, like any decent weapon, it will treat you just as well."

Walking into a large room, complete with full buffet and bar, Admiral Edwards sits next to his Sultan, their seats facing the far wall. "This oughtta be good" Edwards whispers. The rest of the men and women in the room take their seats as well.

"It better be. The entire aristocracy has invested in this thing, and if they don't get results they'll have my ass on a platter."

Only a few moments later the far wall retracts to expose a thick glass window peering out into space. Visible is only the stars in the distance, Al' Kari, and a large grouping of scrapped ships and their larger parts floating in space. For quite some time it seems as though nothing is happening when suddenly tracer fire can be seen coming from an unknown craft, punching through the debris as it explodes on contact. Still the craft firing cannot be seen.

Suddenly, the large scrapped craft in the center of the debris detonates in a fiery sphere of destruction, leaving nothing as the explosion disappears into the darkness. Only a few moment’s later two black spots in space place themselves in front of the glass. In an instant of blue light the black spots instantly fade into black metallic shapes.

The two shapes are that of two similarly shaped crafts, both piloted by only one spaceman. “… Fighters?” One Senator fumbles out. Edwards stands from his seat and looks to the small group of military commanders and politicians.

“Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you the new wave in military technology; the stealth fighter. The bomber series of these ships have the ability to come in close to a large enemy ship, fire a stealth nuclear warhead which can get past any, ANY, ships sensors, and retreat without even being detected. I present an offensive fighting force.”

Questions and answers continue as Edwards attempts to convince the largely skeptical crowd. The investors present join the bandwagon and applaud the project, and most skeptics are turned into optimists by promises of conquest and colonies.

The meeting ends and dignitaries go back to the surface by way of shuttle. Edwards and the Sultan ride home in the same shuttle, discussing the results.

“That went pretty well,” Edwards smirks.

“We’ll be going into full production today, from now on the entire budget shall be dedicated to this project.”

“Good.”

(OCC: We will continue to make 2 carriers a year along with a full compliment of fighters n’ such until we run out of money, and since our economy is booming it’ll take a while. Mwa ha ha. I’ll keep updates on this thread on how my navy is doing.)

After centuries of separation from the rest of civilization, LNH has based much of its new fleet on the fleets of the two powers that have visited it most recently, Taka and Vernii.

All ships use a similar stealth system to the SP2 (mentioned below) until reaching high speed prepultion, where they become vulnerable to heat detection, but as apposed to the SP2, larger ships transfuse built up energy to large fuel cells that can be used for emergency power, therefore being able to hold stealth nearly indefinitely while moving at low speeds.

Frequency Match Sphering
(Used for missile penetration of shields, wedges, and all matter of non-matter based sheilding)

Developed by TiberCorp during prolonged skirmishes with The Seven Heads, Frequency Match Sphering allows a missle to find the exact frequency of nearly any sheild in order to match it, therefore merging with the shield and allowing the missile to pass through.

Our current tech allows for 73 percent of all missiles to successfully match most energy shields, but we're always looking for ways of upping that number.
