Chrome Fleet to enter several nations!! (Attn SPACE TECH)

Secretary of Defense, John Baxley was available for comment.

"Wormia's been an unheard, unknown nation, until now. I'm not going to lie -- because we are, in a sense, flexing our muscles."

The adequately named chrome fleet involves 74 Wormian capital starships that have been painted with a fitting, and very cosmetically good looking chrome color.

The "Great Chrome Fleet," as it has been called, is scheduled to visit several national ports, and is not an attempt at an invasion, but more of a Wormian endeavor to be more galactically recognized.

Nations may still volunteer for the Great White Fleet to arrive in their lands, though nations who live to far off in the Milky Way are inaccessible, being that Wormian FTL drive is limited to at best 1,800 c.

"Do not attempt to come into Xendi Space."

The intent of the Chrome Fleet was to come into as many various cultural iconial ports round the galaxy....

Of course, we shall adhere to your wishes in hopes of a future with better Wormian/Xendian relations. The Chrome Fleet shall abstain from entrance into your nation.

Wormian officials are fully aware of the prospect of a war with any space nation, and wishes it not to occur. The ensuing destruction is simply not a tempting proposition.

We are fully capable of sending merchant/diplomatic vessels into your nation, however we would like for the UTA to reconsider. The objective of the Chrome Fleet is to establish relations between space nations and Wormia, who has just emerged from isolationism.

The Arbiter system welcomes your fleet with all good intentions, and we hope that this can be the begining of a long and mutualy benificial relationship between Taka and Wormia. Due to the nature of the vessles, however, we will be escorting them in-system with a grouping of our own capital ships, to assure that there are no incidents. We ask wether it would be possible for the civilian population of the Arbiter colony to shuttle aboard your ships in controled tour groups, as a token of your good will intentions of course.

The nation of Kartoffelburg would be honored by a visit from the great Chrom Fleet. Although not a formiatble space power ourselves, we have dabbled in space travel and should have addiquate facilities to allow your ships to refuel and restock your supplies. All we ask in exchange is a prolonged visit from your ships crews in order to establish a profitable cultural exchange.

If you should decide, insteed, to invade Kartoffelburg, I doubt that you would have much trouble at all. Although we are a large nation and our defenses are strong, against such a fleet we would have no choice but to surrender, for the good of our people. I only warn you that the Kartoffelburgians would be a difficult people to rule, and there is much more to gain by peaceful interatcions.

That said, we have set about making preparations for a massive celebration to honor your arrival, should you choose to visit our beautiful country. My chief minister of science is already begging to meet your technicians, and the minister of agriculture has set to work securing the neccissary foodstuffs. Once again, please consider Kartoffelburg your home away from home while on your voyage, and make due haste to visit us. I await your response with trepidation.

The Fleet will be present in Kartoffelburg, and we look forward to experiencing the diverse cultural signatures of your nation.

Wormia has no desire to take what is not ours, and as such we will make no hostile moves. We look forward to a future of splendid economics and thriving cooperation between our two respective nations.

Upon entering our space you will have to submit to these following conditions:
1) Our Curfions guide you into specified locations
2) Your shields are lowered
3) You must stay a week to fully enjoy The Great Elven Civilization and culture.

The Federated Stellar Republics is, as mentioned earlier, a somewhat newly emerging space nation. We are unsure what a Curfion is, though we're guessing a ship of sorts...

We will lower our shields on all ships, though we ask permission to allow four specified vessels to retain the defense fields active. This is due to possible extremist activity associated with this move of the Wormian Government.

We would be only happy to stay the week. May Elves and Wormians coexist for a better future.

On behalf of the nation of Wormia, we thank you Taka for your open amnesty.

Several of the ships will be open for touring by even civilians, but, naturally, we will keep certain technologies and devices onboard concealed from public view.

Humm you can send a small fleet to star bace 110 that is some what of a diplomatic point for the U.T.A we will have diplomats wiateing there.

That is acceptable.

A fleet that size passing within 2 light years of Wintrees space would be considered an act of aggression and be responded to in turn by our fleet.

On a good note however, you are now galactically recognized by our intelligence forces.

Central Facehuggeria
28-03-2004, 18:54
Central Facehuggeria would be willing to host your great Chrome fleet. However, we warn you that there isn't that much to see when it comes to CF Space assets. We only have a small number (20) capital ships, and a single orbital shipyard. If you wish to visit our nation proper, however, that can be potientially much more rewarding.

Your people can see;

1. The great Crystal Caves- These caves were discovered 200 years ago, and have been a tourist destination ever since. Inside the caves there are beautiful extrusions of quartz, diamond, Hematite, Ruby, Emerald, and Sapphire crystals arranged in some of the most beautiful shapes. (The caves are best when visited at sunrise, the light of the rising sun, when shone through the caves produces a breathtaking prismatic effect, rivaling the aurora borealis for sheer beauty. The great Crystal Caves are a CF national park, and as such, are free from hotels, mines, and other facets of civilization.

2. The Achidna memorial- This massive hole was once the city of Achidna. When the Neo-Mekantan war came, the city was destroyed by an asteroid launched at it. Over six million people lost their lives that day; it stands as a testemate to the inhumanity of Orbital weapons. Now, the city is merely a massive crater, with some ruins scattered in between. Previous visitors say that the feeling of the memorial is one of gloom, and one can, on a clear night, actually hear the screams of the dying, as they are silenced forever in a bright flash of light.

3. Facehugger City- The capital of the USSCF is filled with numerous historical relics, including the Congressional building, Royal Tombs, and the Library of the Premier (the single greatest collection of literature in the nation.) Visit the historic Museum of Natural history, the National musuem of Aerospace advances, and the Museum of the Armed forces. You can also see "The Monolith" a great black rectangle of Obsidian that remains a mystery to this day. Or, if museums are not your forte, try out Facehugger City's galleria, home to the most prestigious restraunts of the nation. Also on the galleria is the People's mall, with many many stores for whatever you want. (Note: The red light district of the Galleria is not a place to go to with right thinking women. There you will find the stores that sell S&M and other "Morally Incorrect" appliances.)

4. The ruins of TenoTita- This ancient city was once home to the Native Facehuggerian people, the Texicanas, how they managed to create the giant carvings and equicentric temples puzzles people to this day.

5. The Twin Peaks- The last real tourist oriented location in the nation, here one can climb up Mount Phallus or Mount Puse, the two mountains that guard the coast of the nation. Rumor has it that the mighty Hairy Eagle lives in those mountains, as well as more mundane animals. The view from the mountain peaks is breathtaking, especially at sunset when you can look out on the beautiful, emerald-blue ocean and see the sun's reflection on the water. Climbers of the Twin Peaks are issued oxygen masks and a sattalite phone/GPS system. Mount Puse is snow covered for much of the year, making it an excellent destination for Skiers and snowboarders.

Hazards in Central Facehuggeria:
Chryssalids- These creatures, the national animal, are highly dangerous. Resembling an overgrown beetle or crab, these creatures are fast and lethal. They reproduce by injecting a human victim with what is essientially concentrated LSD and then, while the victim is incapacitated, they implant an egg in the Victim's stomach. The egg will hatch within 24 hours and the immature chryssalid will claw its way out of the victim. There is no known cure for the venom, and no way to remove the egg without killing the host. Travellers inside Central Facehuggeria are advised to climb a tree if they see a chryssalid. Chryssalids are not very good tree climbers, and you should be reasonably safe from one up in the tree. Note that they are very good jumpers, however. Also note that they are capable of running at speeds exceeding 50 miles per hour for brief periods of time, so they are very fast. If going into a Chryssalid area, it is reccommended that tourists take explosives. The Chryssalid is highly vlunerable to such weapons. (Fournately, CFAC has several weapons that shoot High Explosive rounds.)

In certain parts of the USSCF, the storms get so bad that fires can result, keep this in mind when travelling through forests.

Also, avoid military bases. If a sign says keep out, do as it says. The military is willing to shoot any unauthorized people on sight.

That's all you need to know.

You are most welcome Vi2o.

We do have one qualm with your requests, and that is, much the same way with the Elves Security Forces, we request that four of our ships be allowed to have their shields up, and armaments at least charged. This is not out of distrust, but of the possibility of extremists willing to kill to see their way.

Otherwise, we gladly look forward to the visit with our great neighbors, Vi2o.

Adornia would gladly welcome any envoys or diplomatic moves you would make. You have our offical permission ot pass through our space, although I must warn you that you will be shadowed by picket ships.

To the government of Central Facehuggeria, the Chrome Fleet will gladly stop in your nation. Particularly of interest to the crews are your Crystal Caverns. We look most forward to our meeting.

Alexander Cobalt stood on the bridge of the NSW Excalibur. Dominance-class...

He was the leading commander of the fleet that was to bring Wormia out of isolation, and into the galactic world. The Chrome Fleet. When he returned... he would be a national hero.

"Captain?" He was too distracted to hear the word.

"Captain?" Again the word resonated from a perstistent crewmember.

He turned to reply. "Yes?"

"We've reached the edge of Wormian Territory. If we proceed further, we will be in international waters."

Cobalt looked back. "Take us out of Wormia, ensign. Straight on to Starbase 105. There's a whole galaxy waiting for us..."

The NSW Excalibur blasted off into hyperspace, followed by the other members of the fleet.

Cobalt looked back at the ensign. Somehow that kid had enough resolve to sit behind a console for 3 and a half hours of transit time. What a wierdo. Cobalt thought.

"Are we....?" He began.

"We are just outside Federal Union space."

"I suppose we just wait for their signal... in the meantime, I'll be in my quarters. Inform me when the aforementioned signal arrives, I'll be talking with Admiral Beneteau."

Cobalt exited the bridge, and went down the hall. The bridge was an unnaturally silent room for a few hours....

Alexander Cobalt walked into the bridge of the Excalibur, his talk with Admiral Beneteau had been most productive. He finished buttoning his gray uniform as he perched himself on the captain's chair.

"Should I play the message sir?" the communications officer asked.

Cobalt looked at him. "Play file."

The comm lieutenant stood at his post and did what he was told. He pressed "Execute File:FederalUnionAuth.aud___"

Static filled the bridge until a voice came over the crystalline speakers saying, "To Wormian ships : You may enter our spece when you are ready good luck and we are glad to have you theyll be a nice party waiteing for you at SB105."

I would like to send out two messages, if I may. The first will be sent to the Chrome fleet by route of Federal Union (if you will do the curtosy of transmitting a short message, that is.)

"Captain Cobalt - Please excuse my briefness in this message, but I have little time for formalities. The capital has been in a buzz since we recieved news of your arrival. Preparations are proceeding well, very well indeed, in my most humble opinion. However, knowing as of yet nothing about your people or your culture, the best we can offer you is the strong taste of Kartoffelburgian culture. While this is, of course, the entire point of cultural exchange, I was was wondering if there was anything we could do to prepare that would make you and your crew feel more at home. If the Federal Union would be so kind as to boost your transmition range, please transmit your response as soon as possible.
Your humble servant,
Sir Gilbert Benton
Minister of Foriegn Relations"

My next message is being sent by personal courier/diplomat to Central Facehuggeria.

"Dear Sir - First and formost I would like to extend the most cordial of greetings to your fine world. Although you have only recently come to our attention, it is obvious that yours is a nation of great integrity and even greater natural beauty. The peoples of Kartoffelburg love nothing more than the out of doors, seeking out new and wonderful places to visit and enjoy. It would seen that Central Facehuggeria contains many fine examples of stunning landscapes, ones that I would very much like to see. Therefor, as I gesture of goodwill between us, I would ask you to indulge in a visit from me to your fine nation. Of course, I do not wish to put extra stress on you now, for I know you are already hosting the Chrome Fleet, as I will be doing soon, but once they have moved from our two systems I would love to hear your response.
Many Goodwishes,

"What do you make of it sir?"

Alexander looked at the ever-working ensign peering over his shoulder at the passively glowing comm screen. "Do you ever have fun, ensign?"

"No." He replied. "Why should I?"

Cobalt wasn't sure what answer he was going to get, but he sure as hell didn't expect that one. That reply took every midgen of speed from the arguement he had planned. "What? Why not?"

"Kidding sir... just... kidding.... I'm just... new. I guess." He replied.

He looked back at the screen. "Well, returning to the topic at hand.... I doubt a fleeting pirate ship would dare attack us. However, the Empire of Coreworlds is either being nice, or they are being nice and warning us of a HUGE rat problem." He stood up from his hunched position over the console. "Alright... send word back. Ask 'em just how big this pirate problem really is."

[code:1:070b3b5be1]To CoreWorlds:

Pirates, eh? Well, for one we are certainly enthused to hear that you are not a particularly nitpicky civilization when it comes to expanding your horizons. We would be most honored to make a cameo over in your nation.

The only thing preventing us is that you mentioned a pirate problem. You must be aware that our fleet is consistent of 74 starships, and that a pirate attack would be easily dismissed quickly. Is, perhaps, the pirate affliction in your sector a bit more ... hmm ... pervasive than normal activity?

We may be too far away over here, but when your drives are adequate, our borders are open, there are only a few places you may not go.[/code:1:9fddb35bc3]

Understood and confirmed.

The Principality of Skeelzania respectfully informs Wormia that no warship of theres may cross our border. A rogue battlefleet from the nearby nation of Bandalok has deeply penetrated Skeelzanian Space and our military is on high alert. Any warships sighted within our borders will be fired upon.

Your request is affirmed and responded to. We will not enter your space until you legalize our entry. Wormia hopes that your current situation can be solved soon, and in a civilized manner.

Despite the apparently unstable situation between you and the nearby nation of Bandalok, we encourage that both your respective nations NOT mistake the Wormian fleet as a foe, any act of aggression against it will be met with a declaration of war and swift military action.

We hope that future commerce may be established between Skeelzania and Wormia, and between Bandalok and Wormia. Hopefully our fleet will be able to contact your aforementioned foe.

We do not wish to become involved in your conflict, but the conflict is purely between Bandalok and yourself. We wish to seek out Bandalok as a trading partner or commercial venture as a sovereign nation. Might you be able to point us in the right direction?
