The bang resounded off the echoey rooms of ICBM Central Command.

Meanwhile, across the other side of the world, Scientists were reading a sudden change in tectonic activity...

"Uh, Ive got some kind of activity coming from Hogsweat. I know this sounds strange, but, it is relativly similar to a large nuclear explosion." reported one scientist

Another looks over, "Give me a look at that....Holy.....Notify the President..."

The entire room buzzed trying to find the trajectory of the missiles.

The enourmosity (a word?) of the situation struck home as the missiles did so. The major cities - New Karavia, Muscovia, Hogsingrad, HogSmolensk- all ruined craters. The biological waste blew across the Hogsweatian plains - the Great River Hog no longer a lush river, but more like a desert valley. The Alfatain mountains lay crushed and destroyed. THe nation was a ruin.

The Ilhami LPD and cruiser had left the Hogsweat,their ally,as they had been recalled to deal with a rebel uprising in the deep jungle in Ilham.As Ensign Illynich scanned the coastline of Muscovia,fading in the distance,suddenly warning alerts sounded all over the cruiser.Several hundred missiles were reported incoming.The cruiser Righteuous Justice launched seceral missiles to attempt interception,but there were too many to stop.At most,perhaps 30 odd missiles were destroyed.

In the distance,the missiles impacted,mushroom clouds rising in a great number of a blasted landscape.The shockwave could be felt even 26 kilometres out at sea.A hurricane of wind followed by blasts of hot air hit the 2 ships head on,even as the crew braced for impact.As the nuclear clouds rose in the distance,the Ilhami forces could only stand awed at the nuclear hell that their ally had become.With sharp intakes of breath,sensors began to deep scan Muscovia,searching for any survivors.There had to be some,even a few.

The Battered Hogsweatian fleet stopped dead in their tracks.

Twenty three of the Peoples Red Hogsweatian Navy ships were shocked. What had happened? What was wrong with their nation? Wwere their families alive?


"This is Admiral Muktar to any nearby Coalition forces - do you copy? I repeat, do you copy?"

"Winged Serpent" recon aircraft flies over Hogsweat at Mach 3.

Pilot communicates home "Babylon 4 to base, Hogsweat nuked. It's a wasteland, dead. Armageddon ..."

" S**T! So our Agents where right! Damn it! Get in contact with Hogsweats leaders, from both sides! I want to know whats happened! Send out a task force! All troops to RED ALERT! MOVE IT! "

Just then two Bodyguards rushed foward and arrested the so called "defence minister"
He was actually a spy for the nation of Buckaro, from whence many of the population originaly came from.

As all this was happening, two squadrons of hercules had taken of, as had five of C-17 Globemasters. They were escorted by Fighters, and also had Air to Air refueling planes taking of nearer to their destination to re-fuel them. Out at sea a task force had changed coarse, something the Admiral had been expecting for a while, it was his soon who was an aggent in Hogsweat after all! The Task force consisted of one light carrier(type classified), 1 Tarawa modified Aid ship, 1 Kirov class ship aswell as an asortment of destroyers and frigates, along with submarines and supply ships. A full inguiery into why the a spy had got such a high Government possition was underway.

His Majesty put down the LIGHTSPEED level communique from the Intel Satellite ROYCESTAR. "Jack, what the hell just happened?"

Commander Jack Sword punched some numbers into his computer.

"Communist Hogsweat just nuked themselves. 760 missiles have landed all over the country."

"Ouch." Said His Majesty. "Damage estimate?"

"I think it's a fairl safe assumption that the entire country is now a smoking, radioactive wasteland."

"Remind me not to go there for a holiday" His Majesty commented drily as he put down the report and picked up the next one. "I'm guessing they'll want some sort of Foreign Aid then?"

"I'm not sure there's a country left to grant Aid to" Commander Sword said as he flicked on the TV in the Imperial Office and flicked through the channels looking for something interesting to watch.

"Get Lebowski to see if there's anything left. If there is, give them some anti-rad medicine, a couple of NukeBioChem Teams, and food and so forth. Make sure we get some PR mileage out of this too. Bloody Communists. You would have thought by now they'd know it doesn't work."

Commander Sword agreed, and picked up the phone. "Liz, can you get me Jeff? Lebowski, the Foreign Minister. Yeah, that's him." Pause. "Jeff? Jack. How's it going? Look, sorry to interrupt, but something's come up. His Majesty wants it looked into..."

Briefly, Sword explained the situation.

"I'll see what I can do" Lebowski said, and rang off.

the valkeries and thunderhawkes were sweeping hogsingrad, they had found 400,000+ guardsmen dead, none alive, they had found a few live space marines, and the corpse of lord commander secundus lascelles.

in muscovia there were around a thou marines dead, none found alive, the cobra destroyer lay cripled and a crater where the kremlin once stood.

there were still teams of marines searching for saint sigmisund.

The Premier of RF tells every nation to back off from Hogsweat territory or air space. The RBA will take care of the situation. Dispite we have no idea what to do in this type of mess, we'll do what we can to ensure the safety of whats left of hogsweat. The Russian North Atlantic fleet will be moved to HogSweat for investigation and to establish a government again.

Monarchy, perhaps- a good compromise between Communism and Democracy.

We would inform the nation of Roycelandia that from a Socialist viewpoint, Monarchy evolves into Democracy, and Democracy evolves into Communism. Therefore we would like to state that Hogsweat becoming a monarchy, a system of forced inequality, would not at all be a favourable outcome in our opinion as it would involve a major backstep towards archaic ideals. Democratic Socialism would be a much better alternative.

Nevertheless, despite what may happen in the governmental system of Hogsweat, our offer of aid still stands.

With a heavy heart, defense minister Brian Dredon walked to the podium to address the nation. He looked out at the crowd of excited reporters, crowding in the great hall, waiting for their next big story, their next big break.

"As I'm also sure you know, the situation has been winding down for some time. Well, the situation just turned slightly more ... complex.

"Less than ten minutes ago, the Facist leaders of Hogsweat - we know not who, but suspect their dictator, a man by the name of Vlaszly - launched nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons.

"The amount of nuclear missiles launched by Hogsweat totals just over 750...all missiles were launched at Hogsweat itself. Now, as I'm - "

"All aircraft were able to make it, although very few helicopters escaped the seven hundred and sixty nuclear blasts. Cargo transports headed towards Hogsweat were turned around.

"Needless to say, all our ground forces in Hogsweat, despite all Patriot and SAM missiles they had, were wiped out.

"The total Zoogie casualty list mounts up to the records of the army personell deployed, and a number of air force pilots and ground personell not in the skies - the total number coming to 2,963.

"This is the single largest military disaster in recent history. Let us not forget these servicemen, and let us help Hogsweat rebuild itself from this disaster, which if it affected us greatly, affected them more.

"Only a handful of men from the Zoogie Armed Forces were engaged in Hogsweat at the time and left alive. Even they had to eject from their aircraft, and search and rescue boats are now dispatching several hundred miles out to sea from Hogsweat.

the marines walked forward through the reckage of the thunderhawkes, they had been attacked by the new mutant gangs that had begun to rampage through out hogsingrad. they had found many dead marines in the origionall hogsingrad landing area but no sign og st sigmisund, there had been 3 nucular missile hits here in quick succesion, the only survivor so far had to be executed for corruption, they were getting closer to the temp bunker and they all had to chant the litanies of apeasement to the machine spirits of their suits of power armour so they did not perish

Radioactive Fallout doesn't "Mutate" living people, at least not as far as modern science knows (mainly because most people affected by it die horribly long before they grow extra limbs or start glowing etc).

So, in fact, it is YOU (or should I say j00?) who has made the n00b-tastic mistake of watching too many 1950's B-Grade Horror Films and assuming them to be fact. So it is I who shall say "Good Day To You, Sir!" :D

Fallout from a nuclear blast wont mutate living people, apart from giving them tumours and cancer. They won't grow extra feet etc...

But, if they have children in a few years, they will be mutated because the parents hereditary genetic code has been changed. Most radioactive material (eg. Iodine 131) after a nuclear blast is gone after a few weeks. If the survivors were in a bunker for this time, they will survive, and if they werent, they are dead. So after these few weeks, they will be able to survive the background radiation (depending how big the blast is), and the actual genetic damage that will cause mutations will take several years to set in.

So it would be a few years before any mutants started appearing.
