President Ted Kermes sits at his desk waiting for the news people to finish setting up.

"You're on, sir, in 5...4...3...2..." says on of the camra men.

"Ladies and gentlemen. I bring evidence that we are...or at least were not alone in the universe. Our government set up a base on Mars to see if the planet was able to sustain life. Our experiments, I have been told are making progress. But, while digging into the surface of Mars scientists have found was they belive was a fossolised humanoid." he said and took a brief pause.

"Now I am not able to tell you of the location of the base or of what they are doing. The scientists also kept digging around the bones to take them out in a block, but they broke into a chamber that was very humid. They searched that area and found small traces of water, and clay. I understand that we are going to a small space facility where we will learn more."

The image changed from the president to a small room with people working at their computers.

"Hello, I am in charge here and am going to tell about what we found on Mars. We have found what appears to be a humanoid skeleton that is about two to two and a half thousand years old. Already the people on Mars are studing it. But what interested us more was the chamber where we found a small pool of water. We took a drill and dug deeper into the chamber, and took a few samples. What we found in them were living cells. These creatures seem to have what it looks like to be a group intelligence. They seemed to be doing things together for the short while we could study them. These creatures died soon after we took them out."

It went back to the president.

"Now I know this seems like a crazy idea but we could make Mars habital again. If the world would come together, we could use the smartest and bet thinkers and make some sort of giant propulsion system to push Mars into Earth's orbit. The scientists say that we could push it into our orbit when we're on the other side of the Sun so that we wouldn't crash into each other. THen we could attempt to fix the atmosphere and plant trees. We await contacts from other nations."

The president went off and regular TV came back on.

(Don't mean to burst yer bubble... but unless you can prove you've actually been on Mars, you ain't found anythin'.)

If Mars were pushed into Earth's orbit, the combined angle of the two planets would need to be 60 degrees. It couldn't orbit at the other side, it'd have to be sixty degrees off our axis.

That technology is something only a future-tech RPer could do-and he probably wouldn't waste the effort, seeing as they can colonize other worlds instead. An interesting idea, though.
