In accordance with the Military Reconstruction Act passed by the Mestionian Parliament, all Mestionian Defense Forces are to undergo a complete overhaul. The recent shift in power from the liberals to conservatives have led to the order for the formation of a massive military capable of offensive as well as defensive manuevers. The standing defense forces have been re-classified into the newly created Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Air Force.
Parliament has ordered the raising of the following military units for the following new branches of the Mestionian Armed Services.
Army:
Mechanized Infantry Divisions - 50, each carrying a compliment of 10,000 men, light armored vehicles, and other assorted vehicles.
Airborne Infantry Divisions - 3, carrying a compliment of 10,000 men each
Armored Divisions - 27, carrying a compliment of 500 tanks each, as well as all necessary service support.
Helicopter Brigades - 5, each with an attack strength of 100 helicopters and necessary service support.
Navy:
6 Orca Class Super Carriers, carrying a compliment of 212 assorted combat aircraft
10 Typhoon Class Carriers, carrying a compliment of 120 assorted combat aircraft
16 Cape May Class Heavy Cruisers, equipped with 12' guns, 6' guns, and guided missile batteries.
20 Korrivi Class Destroyers, equipped with guided missile batteries, depth charges, and a turret of 4' guns
7 Mercy Class Missile Submarines, equipped with 20 missile tubes capable of launching nuclear-tipped ballistic missiles.
10 Hunter Class Attack Submarines, equipped with radar-guided fast-screw torpedos.
Air Force:
10 Fighter Wings, fitted with the newest Mestionian fighter, the MS-67 Hellstorm, a stealth multirole fighter armed with radar and heated guided weapons and a 30mm cannon. 50 aircraft/wing
10 Bomber Groups equipped with the BH-12 Avenger, a bomber/striker with stealth capabilities and fitted with radar-guided and satellite-guided bombs and missiles. 50 aricraft/wing
Given current technology and industrial capabilities, the above listed forces should be battle-ready within the next six months (1 week NS time).
