Wormian Raptor-class shows promise in the space world.

Wormia has called a bit of fame to itself after declassifying a test run of the Raptor-class Frigate.

The ship has been in full service of the Wormian Domestic Star Patrol and the Federated Wormian Navy for 3 years now, as part of the rebuilt Wormian Starfleet.

During trial runs, these ships performed above and beyond what manufacturer's best hopes' had been. However, everyone in the upper levels of government were looking for not only a fast, nimble defensive craft, but also, a stealth one.

The declassified report entails a dangerous (and, mind you, illegal) jaunt into non-Wormian space, though it goes not into detail of whose space it actually was. Controversy in the public offices of several neighboring nations have opened up debates regarding the report and Wormian space capabilities, not to mention a riot in one Wormian city.

"The test run was to ensure that the stealth technology utilized in the craft actually worked." Secretary of Defense Markus Polluck said.

"Wormia has six full planets capable of supporting 100 billion people each. Comfortably. Our current population is nearing 2 billion. We're not interested in 'Manifest Destiny of the Stars,' but we're damn sure prepared for anyone who thinks they are." He added, when asked why the ship was prepared using stealth devices.

Other governments are expected to comment, and Earth's United Nations has not yet made a decision regarding this.

"We've stayed well within reasonable limits. Anyone who knows anything about spacefaring nations knows Wormia is not the America of space."

The Raptor class frigate remains the backbone of the Domestic Star Patrol and the Stellar Defense Corps. These craft are most effectively wielded in battlegroups often comprised of the same ships. These ships have the norm of firepower for their counterparts in other national fleets.

These craft are reliant mainly on their superb speed and maneuverability, unsurpassed in any capital ship in its class. Perhaps its most adequate counterparts are the Federation Defiant-class and the Marauder Corvette.

Another advantage indigenous to the Raptor class is virtual invisibility. It can be detected only by the naked eye or a very acute gravitational scanner. Solo missions into neighboring territory can prove very useful in intelligence. Detection of them is difficult, but even when detected, the ships' blazing speed can evacuate them of enemy territory before a positive I.D. can be made.

Aw, Wormia's been there for awhile. We just weren't quite ready to make aware our space fleet.

(I mean, RPing has suddenly intrigued me. Wait'll you see the rest of the fleet.)

Heh.

Two things you need:

1.) Go to www.3dcafe.com, go to "Free Stuff" and click tutorials. There they have 4 pages of uber-dizzle 3ds max tutorials, and just about any other graphics program.

2.) Get Greeble 1.6 or whatnot, a plugin from Tom Hudson for various 3ds versions and it automatically textures your spaceship. A warning - don't plan on using Greeble on a low end comp - you're going to hurt yourself.

3.) Ideas for your nations starships!

considering my comp was custom built going on two years ago, it isn't that bad.. 2.4 ghz, 120 gigs, 512 DDR ram -.-

That'll pretty much do the trick. Your processor really almost doesn't matter in the case of 3ds.... it's your graphics card that does the work.

I've got a slow processor, almost half that of my friend's comp, but my graphics card is a 9600 (Radeon) to a 9200, and my rendering times are about 1/3rd less. 1.3 GHz is my CPU, and I've got a gig of RAM. Needless to say, it works for what I do... but I want MORE!!! MWA HA HAAAAAA!!!!

But yeah... that's that.

You might try some more of these sites:

www.3dluvr.com
www.the3dstudio.com

That's.... all I can really think of off the top of my head. And of course, my 3ds max 5.0 bible has a full entourage of sites, but I'm too lazy to move.

Yeh. Well, graphics card is definitely necessary... I know... I had a 7000 prior to my 9600. Heh. BIG change.

So... anyways.... [/hijack]

I had one o' those too. Gave it away when I got a GeForce 4. Then I got a new comp w/ a 7000. Then I bought a 9600. Nice. Can't wait for the 10,000...
