They are (mostly) not allowed to work in Israel anymore. They cannot travel between their own cities because of checkpoints, etc.

They believe, more or less correctly, that what they do will make a better tomorrow for their people. They are fed up. They have nothing. They have nothing to live for. They die, end their suffering, and hope that it brings a better future for their people.

The problem is violence begets more violence and so the flames of hate fan the flames of hate.
Intolerance breeds intolerance. And fear breeds fear.
And the extremist groups, like Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Areil Sharon factions, etc, use these keep the two sides hating each other and wanting to kill each other. It is how these groups keep their power.
Do you know what would happen if both people's were, helped by an outside power such as the US, to join forces and stand up to the extremists on both sides.
