The specs

How many crew members does it need?

None. An onboard AI, state of the art and upgradeable, is the only crew. It can be programmed a set or orders to perform independently or in groups or it can be controlled directly form a command post up to 200 miles away.

How much does it weigh?

25000 kilograms

How large is it?

The tank is about length 7 metres long and about 3 metres wide. The gun barrel does not go farther then the length of the tank, so does not add to length. The tank is 2.5 metres high.

What speeds can it reach?

The tank can reach 80 kilometres an hour by road and 60 kilometres an hour on rough terrain.

How far does it go?

The tank can travel up to 1000 kilometers by road, thanks to the much reduced weight due to no passengers being required. It can also travel up to 500 kilometres on rough terrain

What are their weapons?

The tank has one 120 mm, which is the model L30 gun. It also has one M61A1 Vulcan cannon that unfolds from the body of the tank when sensors detect infantry of defensive positions. The 120 mm is 360o rotation and can fire a full 180o arc up into the sky. The M61A1 can rotate 270 o (135o both ways) and can arc up to 50 o into the sky.

Anything else I need to know?

Yes. The tank is amphibious. It can move through water at a rate of 35 kilometres and hour without any loss of functions.

Also, the tank can be programmed to self destruct, either when it has sustained enough damage, at a predetermined time, when enemy concentration is largest around him or when the human commanding it chooses. When it does, it has the strength of one AGM-65B Maverick bomb.

How much are they?

They are yours at $5 million USD each. When you buy one tank, you also get the equipment needed to control it for free.

Mass orders of tanks (100 or more) have negotiable prices, but they will not deviate far from the actual price.

Allies of Kikoskriat and regional allies receive a discount of 20% on all purchases (not including bulk purchases)

All orders are dispatched and arrive at nations within 12 RT hours.

OOC: What technology level is it?

IC:

As Zoogiedom's own army is developing a vehicle designed to revolutionize modern ground warfare as well (although quite different from your concept; it still needs crew), we wish to test your X90 Avatar amphibous light battle tank.

We will purchase 120 units at $600 million.

Abu Khalid, CEO of the Tajikistan branch of the New World Arms Manufacturing, Inc., approaches you with the offer of buying fifty tanks from you. His company is willing to pay the full price of the arms, requested from the NWAM to fight warlords in Afghanistan. He asks that you ship the weapons directly to company headquarters in Tajikistan, also to be payed by NWAM financing.

OOC: Of course, the company and al-Qaeda would be doing everything in their power to prevent anyone from finding out that they are supplying al-Qaida with materiel. This isnt like Osama Bin Laden walking up and asking for some tanks. NWAM is also supplies the Tajik government, but that is not their plans for this particular shipment.

The Zoogie People: Glady. The money has beenw ithdrawn from your account and the tanks have been sent.

Fatah al-Qaeda: You threaten my allies and me with war and you expect me to trade with you? I don't deal with terrorists. No deal.

OOC: Eh, you are not RP'ing. The corporation would not be known to have ties to FAQ, and would be acting as an arms supplier to the Tajik government. You can't just 'know' it is controlled by al-Qaeda.

((I may not KNOW, but I could easily research it. I check out every person who intends to buy any products of mine and it would not be hard to find out you give weapons to terrorists.

However, since your cover is rather good, we will claim that we failed to uncover anything incriminating. There, satisfied?))

Fatah al-Qaeda: You can buy the tanks. The money as been withdrawn from your account and the tanks have been sent to you, considering that we do not actually know who is getting the tanks.

May I, however, remind you of one thing: we are in possesion of the device that is capable of disabling the tank if it attempts to attack Kikoskriat.

Also, for you all to know, the technology level is modern, as in, now. This is not future or space age tech.

The Zoogie People: No problem. I don't mind at all. :)

Then I see a problem. AI has not yet advanced enough to let it control a tank with succes on the battlefield.

26-03-2004, 10:35
You can say that, yet as I have said before, there are many different ways to control the tank, including imputting instructions and controlling it from an external command post.

More imaginative things have been said and not been frowned upon. Other people are buying them. They don't have a problem with it.

So I take it you won't be buying any then?

Ah yes now I see. A remote controlled tank is indeed modern tech. But I will stick to manned tanks for a while. For the it looks good.

Shadowmoon Clan
29-03-2004, 15:03
Shadowmoon Clan is interested in purchase of this tank. Our experts say that unmanned craft has weight, speed, and expendability advantages before a normal tank.

However, few points of extended interest have emerged, that require us to request additional specs on following categories:
* What type of communications device does it use?
* Is it vulnerable to jammers and EMP?
* How many human "players" does it require per tank in cyborg
mode(=human-assisted AI)?
* What kind of sensors does it use for scouting enemies and terrain?
* How does it interpret the received sensory data?(=can new types of
sensors be installed?)
* What types of campaign orders can it carry out in AI-only mode(or does
it just kill everyone)
* How does it differentiate between a friend and a foe?
