Last week, two Moontian exploration vessels returned to Nereid, bearing data on new planets in other solar systems, with many possible worlds to colonise. The stars in question are Alpha Circini and Gamma Corona Australis. Alpha Circini appears to have 4 planets, one approximately the size of Earth, and another roughly the size of Mars. The lone planet orbitng Gaa Corona Australis is uch larger than Earth, and is not very hospitable, but it has 7 moons larger than 100 km in diameter. The first steps to colonisation will be undertaken n the next few months. If no other nation has already laid a claim to these systems, Alpha Circini will pass into Tritonites' control, while Gamma Corona Australis will becoe Nereidans' responsibility.

The hive already occupies Gaa Corona Australis, we dwell on the large planet you speak of - however we would allow you the right to colonise all but 1 of the moons orbiting our planet for trade agreements.

In return for the protection of your "dwellings" on our moons we request 50 members of your population per year as payment, other than this we wish for nothing else that you take from the moons. In return the hive will protect you from any incursion it is capable of beating off. The largest moon is ours - that is all you need know.

We require protection only for the first 30 years. After this period, the colonies will have been set up sufficiently for Nereidans to protect.

The first colonisation ships will be arriving in the next year, along with the 50 volunteers.
