At 3:42 MDT, a RedOak 1 rocket carrying a small satellite thundered into the skies of Morinmoss. It successfully placed a small test satellite into orbit, first communications with the satellite took place 77 minutes later. Two earlier launches failed with loss of the rocket and satellite. The head of Morinmoss Space command, in his nationally-televised address, stated 'This day marks the beginning of a great new journey for Morinmoss, into the uncharted reaches of the last great unknown.' Plans have been announced for two more launches this year, with the possibility of manned missions in years to come.
