Type of Vehicle: Subspace Transport Shuttle/Aircraft

Engine: SCRAM

Armarments: None

Defenses: EMP Shield; regular countermeasures. Painted with radar cloaking paint. Also comes with sound buffer to hide sonic-booms.

Cargo Bay: Can carry up to 300 Troops, or equivilant...

Description: Developed over a period of twenty years, the Transtar F-1 acts as a regular aircraft transport, similarly to the Hercules. However, the Transtar can fly into altitudes up as high as the beginning of space. Activating the SCRAM engines, allow the Transtar to actually enter space, and take its cargo to a predestined location, all through what is considered to be "space". Anytime, the Transtar can gently glide back into the atmosphere, and drop its cargo.

Benifits:
- Allows faster delivery
- Avoids airspace issues when dealing with landlocked nations

Cost to Produce: $50 Million Dollars
Cost to Buy: NOT FOR SALE

This has been copywrited and patented by The Republic of Austar Union: 2004

OOC: Its ironic. I release this vehicle, after peace is temporarly established with Holy Panooly, when he was the very reason I decided to create it...lol

Hmm...with a little tweeking you could turn this into a very nice and very destructive bomber.

Yes, I was actually considering releasing a whole line of these ships, incliding fighters and bombers.

You know whats great? Its all modern-tech. Actually NASA created a fighter that could do the same thing, but didnt continue with the project due to funding problems...

Umm... yeah... SCRAMJets need a LOT of air... so you'd have to be hypersonic to be able to get them to work at high altitudes... and space? forget about it.

Now, an aerospike engine would work...

But the thing is, once you get into space... what do you use for thrust? :P

It does also come with regular rocket engines, the SCRAM is used to give that extra kick in the transition from atmosphere to space...

EDIT: I might just change to an Aerospike engine in my next model...

Axis Nova wishes to inquire as to the cost of the airframe designs without the engine designs. Yours are good, but we have a superior fusion turbine system that we employ on all major air vehicles.

I thought the X-33 was designed with an aerospike?

Yes, it was, but the only part of this that resembles that model of shuttle, is the exterior design. It is in effect, a completly different vehicle...

After many tests, it was deemed that there was a loss of performance, namingly speed when the Trinstar F-1 enters, and travels through space. Therefore, Austarian scientists have announced that they will be working on a new project, the Trinstar F-2. People are speculating that the new vehicle will come complete with an Aerospike engine...
