Goodwill Invitation

Communist Louisiana
24-03-2004, 03:48
I would like to begin goodwill talks and what not with nations I have scorned in the past(most of them),especially Iuthia.

Iuthia, I know in the past we have had our arguements and I said somethings I probably shouldnt have. I would like to invite your nation and others(I will accpet them when you say you wish to) to send naval fleets to Communist Louisiana as a goodwill gesture. In return I will send naval ships of the Red Fleet to your nation. I think that we should put hostilities past us and move forward. I think my nation could gain strength and set an example to the newer nations that all hostilities can be passed. I hope you will accept this gesture of goodwill. I hope alot of nations will.

*Transmission to Iuthia* I am really wanting to see your submarine carrier. I thought it was a great idea and a great investment. I hope you will send one so we can see its technologies and whatnot.

It is an interesting proposition, I have to admit. But normally sending naval fleets to another nation would represent a certain military manouver not well known for it's peaceful intentions.

Goodwill talks are acceptable, they're even encouraged, however your naval presence in my waters certainly wouldn't be. In my experience of diplomacy we would normally meet at a neutral nation, or if trust permits, your nation... though I certainly couldn't come personally as my security personnel wouldn't allow it.

On another note Iuthia is currently dealing with a few mild situations and the fleets which are in use are being used for security around out Edolian Outpost. We have also had to increase our defences around our nation following an incident with an ICBM which damaged our capitol, so we are not anxious to mobilise any more then we have to.

So may we suggest something which doesn't involve the military? Afterall, seeing as this is a gesture of goodwill perhaps the military should only be used in security and not the gestures themseves...

Thanks for your interest, we eagerly wait your reply.

Ok!

From their berths at Gdansk, the LRRNS Little Feat, From The Cradle, and Abbey Road motor out to sea. Their crews stand at attention on the decks, a dockworkers turn from what they are doing to watch the unusually official ships pass by into the north atlantic. Long streamers of flags hang down from the top mast. The ships motor out of the harbor, and, by sundown, are beyond the coverage of the port's ASM silos. Crewmembers with binoculars can see the spray trails of Hauk MOD hydrofoil PTs as they go out for their periodical cruises. They also come across a pair of Bora II corvettes which had been shadowing them for practice. A light snow begins to fall, not at all unusual in any part of LRR up until late May. Fortunately for them, they were headed into the deep south.

Ok, well I suppose seeing as you are going along with my suggestion to conduct talks in a fashion which doesn't include the deployment of forces in one anothers waters we would like to ask you the following questions about the Goodwill Talks between our nations.

Firstly we would like to know where you wish to conduct this meeting as well as any important security requirements we should be aware of.

Secondly we would request that our diplomat, Kayla Harmone, is escorted by two Iuthian Black Vipers in addition to our normal security forces. If armament is not permitted we would requestion that the two Black Viper bodyguards keep their Gauss Rifles but without the ammo (to be inspected by your security personel) as the Guass Rifle is an important part of their uniform and they have never gone without them, ammo or otherwise.

Finally we would like to know if others will be attending such talks or whether it will be one on one. It doesn't matter eitherway but we feel it would be nice to know proir to the engagement.

Thanks,

The meeting will be conducted in Baton Rouge. We will not allow it for New Orleans b/c we have a all the time no fly zone in and around the city. Only top ranked government personel are allowed to enter the city by aircraft and they are escorted most of the time by 3 MiG-29's. If you would like even, we will be greatly happy to allow the aircraft to land on one of our aircraft carriers in port in Port Fourchon. There you could be transported across the costal marshes and other biomes to see the Louisiana widlife on a secure train used by high security train. Its up to you comrade.

We will allow your armament here for the fact that we really do not fill you will use it against us or our people while here. They will be checked once your people enter the city.

The talk is between us two comrade. I fill we have had many problums. More than the others who are now begining diplomatic relations with my nation.

Very well, she will arrive in a modified Hippogrith Support Craft* along with her security personnel and bodyguard. While we trust our armament is not required we must note that it is standard for us to have armed guards more as a cultural statement then anything else.

We would prefer to skip the more scenic route and instead just fly straight to the Baton Rouge Airport, here is our flight designation along with details of our security personel and diplomatic aides. [Attachment: 001a]

* OOC Note: A Iuthian Hippogrith support craft looks like the bastard child of a Harrier Jumpjet and a Helicopter, however it's more of a combination of hover tank technology and a helicopter. Most often it's used for speedy deployment of troops, much like the Black Hawk helicopter is. Please note that this is pretty much blatant Near Future Tech which I often don't use, I've had them for ages but they are never really used in Combat Situations because I use modern tech for combat...

Several hours later, once preparations had been made and gear loaded onto the craft they lifted off to leave for Communist Louisiana. Overall the Hippogrith was a roomy craft specifically fitted for diplomatic use, the exteriour of the craft was sleek and jet black with radar absorbing paint as well as the smooth edges required for a hover vechile to operate.

Soon the craft made contact on the Communist Louisiana radar systems as it approached the nation from a distance away, the craft was giving out a specific signal to allow it to be tracked without trouble. Overall the Hippogrith made a point of following Communist Louisiana proceedure as it approached it's designated landing area. The pilot was ordered to follow everything requested by the CL escorts and command centre.

Evetually after it's short flight it landed vertically on a helipad, soon followed by the Iuthian Security Personnel, who were wearing the distintive black uniform of Iuthia, along with the flag embroided on one shoulder. These men were then followed by Kayla's diplomatic aides, who were wearing grey suits and breifcases. Finally out came two large figures, who were wearing the distinctive carapace armour of the Black Viper Specialist Corps. On their backs were the large futuristic Guass Rifles, requested especially as a cultural item. After these two men came Kayla Harmone herself, looking quite pleased with herself, she wore a long white dress and was helped out of the forebearing military craft.

Slowly they walked to their Communist escorts to be taken to the Goodwill Conference, following all proceedures asked of them, in good reason.

As the plane arrived at the Baton Rouge International Airport. Waiting for the Iuthian ambassadors was Premier DuFour. 3 guards dressed in plain grey uniforms stepped out of the Black SUV with EA-90 machine guns. After making sure the area was secure, Premier DuFour stepped out wearing a pair of black business suit with a blue dress shirt visible underneath.

As he walked forward toward Ms. Harmone, his 3 body gaurds walked at his side holding the guns ready to defend the Premier against any threats. Premier DuFour steps toward Ms. Harmone; he extends his hand and says "Welcome to Louisiana, I know its kinda hot right now because the humidity is around 93% so it fills like 96 F'. I hope your trip was good and you had no problums. "

As she smiled they walked back toward the black SUV two guards beside the Premier and one behind him.

As they drove off, they began to drive over the Sunshine bridge over the Mississippi River.

If he is to arrive by plane, then land at the Baton Rouge International Airport, if by ship, then take the Achaffalya River, then enter the Mississippi and you will go down river for 3 hours until you will be in Baton Rouge. The LRR ships head at a steady speed down the atlantic coast. They snake through the various national waters, and are overflown by many military aircraft. The crews can soon feel the warm low latitudes air, and make the most of it. They soon pass between the tip of Florida and the island of Cuba, and into the Gulf of Mexico.

After a short sail through the Gulf of Mexico, the ships enter CL waters.....

The waiter came to the table and said " Ms. Kayla Harmone has just arrived Mr. DuFour." The Premier said nicely, "Call me Daniel" The waiter said "yes sir Mr. DuFour oh I mean Daniel" The Premier laughed a little and his two sons giggled while his wife just smiled.

The Premier stood to great his guest"How are, did you have any trouble with the driver or hotel or anything?" Ms. Harmone replied "No, thank you though" The Premier looked at his son Joey who stood up and walked behind a chair and pulled it out for the delegate. Once the food came out the Premiers family bowed their heads and said a prayer for the food. OOC: It's pretty good, though you may want to note a few pieces of RP ettiquette (manners); the RP is good, but these hints may help improve your RP in the future:

> Try not to RP someone elses character without permission, it's ok to assume certain things, but the other players main character is importantly RPed by the other player... you can move them about by making your character ask them to move and then assume they followed, you can say you talked about thing without RPing it (e.g. like the parts where you just write "and we talked about this").

Just don't RP other peoples characters saying anything. For now it's ok because you got her character right.

Kayla will be polite but she is still here for business and she's her to represent Iuthia, a nation which still conciders Communist Louisiana to be too eager to war. As such she will talk about recent topics, but she will fall silent on relations between CL and Iuthia, if you push the reason she will reply "Lets wait until tomorrow shall we".

> It's ok to post pictures, though don't let the odd addage "A picture is worth a thousand words" as this quote is false in Nation States, a picture in NS is nice addition, but it isn't essential.

Pictures are good until they break the scroll post length... then they stretch out and make reading posts harder. Try to avoid this.

Also note that pictures take bandwidth, so use them when you feel they will add to the situation, but don't use them all the time as the forums are hard to get into as it is.

Keep going, you are doing well. I'll post more tomorrow evening, if you want to start the conference or wait a little while it makes no difference, I'll post a character preparation if it hasn't started.

The Udaloy crews take in the sights of New Orleans as the ships are guided up the canal. Sympathy For the Devil plays from the bridge of the Strange Brew. From the radar mast, a pair of long streamers of flags hang down, one secured at the stern, the other at the bow. Those familiar with signal flags would know that it spells out the ship's name.

From th stern flagpole, the LRR flag flaps in the warm wind. The picture of the flaming Hindenburg with Led Zeppelin written in the upper left corner, the LRR national banner, is also painted onto the ship's Ka-28 MOD helicopter, which has been rolled out onto the helipad. The ships look quite spiffy with their flags and newly painted hulls, given a coat of grey with a red and blue stripe down the side before they set sail for CL.

"Should we be open to public visitation or should we stay closed? I'm sure the citizens of New Orleans have never seen one of these up close before."

Kayla spend the rest of her night looking through the updates from the Iuthian Diplomatic Corps, who kept a close tab on the international community. She wasn't impressed with some of the developments but it would have to be seen what the Communists could offer to appease the IDC, for the time being it looked like it would have to be pretty good.

However, despite the political situation it seemed that Kayla was enjoying her stay, overall it had been nice, if not forced along with a polite smile. None the less it would take more then manners to convince her tomorrow and she suspected things may not work out... the IDC weren't too happy with the developents, coupled with previous intel and history it would be a hard day tomorrow. Though it should prove interesting none the less.

Kayla got some sleep. She would be woken up early by her security staff tomorrow to get ready for the conference. Following that it would depend on how things go... she expected to be leaving tomorrow night though, as she will have likely overstayed her welcome by then.

No worries, see thought. Tomorrow will work out one way or another. They Kayla fell asleep, calm and restful.
