Beginning this morning, several groups of protesters throughout the Nation of Nuevo Kowloon have begun gathering, calling for an end to, as one group put it, "Knee Jerk foreign Intervention".
This round of protests came about with the news that Twenty-Four aircraft were shot down in international airspace by Austian military planes.
The loudest protests have been outside the Austian Embassy here, but the sentiments are quite clear-a significant portion of Nuevo Kowloon's population are demanding a withdrawal by that nation from a number of Treaties, particularly mutual defense and trade pacts with the Super-Alliance known as the Legion of Defense, and the mutual-aid pact signed with Aust several years ago.

"Bring our boys home! Bring our Boys Home!" is being chanted right now, here, outside the Chancery building in Nha Tranh. The Protesters have been non-violent as of yet, but concerns have been raised about the possibility that whatever group was behind the May 11 and February 14 poison-gas attacks, and the Gassing in Ia Drang last year, could either be behind these protests, or use them as an easy access to victims.

In a related story, official sources have revealed that an unknown attacker, using surface-to-air missiles, attacked the Secretary of State's plane mere hours from the Keyshonan border. The Secretary and his staff were to attend a high-level peace negotiation relating to the Aust situation. No word on Secretary Gritz' condition has yet been released, and Press have been prevented from examining the NK Airways 707, which was confirmed to have touched down some three hours ago.

Analysts here speculate that the two events may be related, and if so, then... wait a minute, Chancellor Ngo is on the balcony!

(Camera pans away from the Reporter...Amanda Ngo steps out on to the balcony...)

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I know this-" (A shot rings out, and she falls back, the lights clearly showing blood. The Crowd goes nuts.)

[Reporter's voice]: "I think she's been shot! You saw it here first, folks, someone has tried to assassinate the Chancellor..."

{sirens, the camera pans across a mob scene, as armoured cars pull in and riot-equipped police begin trying to calm the chaos. An ambulance rushes the Chancery... and rioters politely get out of the way.}
