The Thousandth Tear (Modern-day Slavery RP)

East Islandia

OOC
this is a new, slavery based RP that is concerned with the problem of piracy and slave trafficking in my home region of Tropical Paradise and, to a greater extent, the Pacific. I need a nation to have plenty of pro-slavery elements (while not outrightly supporting slavery), preferably one with a relatively strong navy, and to hype up the challenge, a relatively strong naval pirate/outlaw element.

*********
Pao Tong Dao
eastern outskirts of Islandia
1600 hours

Jenny Wilkins grimaced as her captors led her to the rough hewn hut. They threw her inside, roughly, and closed the door, leaving her and several other girls inside.

A new arrival from Ireland, Jenny was aboard the liner Star of Islandia when these pirates, members of the notorious Green Gang and working in tandem with smugglers, set upon their ship. Not only were they forced off, but Jenny's parents and the adults were put onto rafts and set adrift, while the children and teenagers were shuttled onto the boats of the smugglers, boats configured like medium yachts and flying Agrigentian colors.

They had already taken about eight of the older, prettier girls and raped them. Some of them now were crying frantically, others chattering or talking nervously, and yet others were just looking off into space.

Jenny sighed. For a notoriously aggressive and well-equipped nation, East Islandia's merchant fleets didnt seem to have the fight that Islandians were known for; most of them had surrendered to the pirates without a fight. But then again, one of the girls with her, a shy Malaysian Islandian named Emily, assured her that they would see the Border Police, or at least some sort of interdiction team, soon.

Jenny hoped so; she knew that the pirates would probably move onto her next....

Pao Tong Dao was actually a rather large archipelago within the large island chain that made up Islandia. The pirates had been smart; about twenty kilometers from their makeshift base was a naval base, but they were hidden from view by near constant fogs, large mountain ranges on some of the larger islands in the Pao Tong Archipelago, and by the fact that no one seriously thought any pirate would be stupid enough to be close to a naval base.

But they were not stupid; despite that, however, their luck would run out someday.

And that day is today, Specialist 1st Rank Shao Tiwong thought, observing the action from his spot near the rocks on the westerly end of Pao Tong's largest island, Tu Shing Dao. He watched the change of guards carefully, and gritted his teeth in frustration.

That had been the hardest order to obey, twenty minutes ago, when his commander ordered him not to attack. They had not had enough assets in place, and a premature attack would have allowed the pirates to make off with the girls.

However, Shao smiled as he heard the muffled thumps of the Ka-60M helos int he distance, and signaled his men, awaiting the execution signal.

A burst of static, too quick to be caught by outsiders, squelched over the radio, and Shao waved his men on.

Twenty Islandian Navy Special Forces operatives slid out of the rocks and moved in, their green-blue-gray Marine camouflage blending in perfectly with the rocky shore.

In the meantime, Islandian Border Police (paramilitary police) units dropped from the Ka-60Ms, rifles at ready.

(anyone is free to join an dRp the pirates/smugglers and anything else...)

A Muktari mercenary band, the Askari, had recently been hired by the smugglers as patrols. One of them saw the NSF operatives move in, and let out a whistle that sounded like a birdcall. No response came, just as they always planned. Then, a quick twitter. The Askari listened, and heard the helicopters. He armed his AK-47, leaned on the branch, and hooted like a monkey.
Ten mercenaries in treetops fired their AK-47s at the special ops team.

Read the first post more carefully, Illior. The raiders only take teenagers and children. They leave the adults on rafts.

BTW, the Askari are being payed with captives who haven't been manhandled by the pirates, such as Jenny or Elena.

Point taken, note that it said their ship, not mine, anyways thats not for us to decide but for Islandia to decide so consider that post obselete until Islandia gives the OK or totally ignores it.

A trio of Lafayette class frigates inch ever closer to the pirate base through the fog. The stealth ships could get very close without the pirates knowing that they were there, if the weather was right.

However, the crews easily hear gunfire, and curse the fog, as they cannot in the low visibility accurately target the shipboard weapons.

Aboard the frigates, a batallion of LRR marines prepares for deployment.....

well, it doesnt really matter; the guy could be a teen (18 year old, straight out of jump school maybe?) or not. Does Muktar want him there? Did his mercenaries take the man, without knowing he was older than the rest and unlike them, a soldier? Someone with intergalactic experience could be very useful....

************
Jenny grimaced. "They grabbed me from my parents on the deck and forced them into a raft and took me with them," she paused, hearing the rattle of automatic gunfire outside. "That could be the Islandians; Emily has faith in them, but maybe that's just cause they're her countrymen."

She paused and patted Elena on the hand. "I'm from County Omagh, Ireland, so I dont really know my way around so well. My cousins emigrated here before, and they told us to come on over, so we joined them...and now this." Jenny smiled helplessly.

"How did you end up on the ship?"
****
A 7.62mm round slammed into one of Shao's men, forcing him down near the rocks. He signaled that he was ok, and took up a firing position, his lightweight, American made sniper rifle propped up against a makeshift tripod.

"GO!" Shao shouted to several of his assaulters, taking cover behind a rock and returning fire at the treetop snipers. He stuck a rifle grenade onto the muzzle of his SAR21 and fired it at the direction of the incoming fire; he managed to get off several more before moving again. "Get me more air support!!" he shouted into his intercom, as he watched one of the WZ9 attack helos, lightly armored and not armed enough, go down in flames.

"AY8, Cobra Flight of five A129Ns, inbound," his controller replied aboard an orbiting AWACS. "ETA thirty seconds."

"Make it twenty," he ordered, firing his SAR21 assault rifle at the mercenary smugglers. "Wei, get the target liners set up; get those rocket emplacements lased."

His air controller, hidden in the bushes several meters from the assault force, shifted his laser designator slightly, targeting the emplacements, awaiting the arrival of the AY8, which had to be brought in slower in order to keep the element of surprise.

Not that any of that mattered now, Wei thought.

"Snipers, you are now in a free fire zone, if you havent figured that out already!" Shao shouted. "Open up!"

Bullets pinged off enemy positions as hidden snipers stepped up their fire, and the jungle came alive as three squads of Pathet Cong Rangers moved out of their hiding places and into broad daylight. They were a hundred twenty meters from the base, as that was the closest they could get, and they moved quickly and soundlessly in their camouflage, firing with suppressed weapons and lobbing grenades.
********
"Targets locked," the Colonel confirmed. "Firing."

Five one thousand pound bombs slammed through the jungle canopy, in the general location of the rocket emplacements. A129 INternational helicopters, an improvement on the Italian Mangusta, fired their chain guns and rockets into enemy positions. Several were downed, but their pilots managed to crash land safely.

Chain guns smashed up the perimeter, but the Colonel stopped the firing in fear of hitting his own men. Instead, he deployed a smoke screen, a thick cloud of yellowish fog that obscured almost everything...
*********
"Roll!" the leader, a Captain with the Border Police's Special Interdiction Unit yelled. The men immediately tucked out of the helo,
"I wonder if they know that they're smuggling slaves," Lt. Amy Sachdev asked, her face obscured in paint.
"Do they care?" the Captain asked.
"GO!" the crew chief called as they cleared the jungle canopy.
The men slid down in a matter of seconds, and the helo was airborne away from the mess quickly.

Two helos, a Ka-60M and another Z9, were brought down by the heavy rocket fire from hidden positions. The A129s stepped up their attacks, firing straight into the jungle and away from the building that intel had pinpointed as the hostage shack.

They approached the shack stealthily, vision bright and clear through their Agrigentian-made goggles. The leader nodded to his men, and they opened fire with supressed MP5s, firing at the terrorists who guarded the place.

Sachdev and her partner snuck around the back, which was heavily forested, threw in a fast-action smoke grenade (shoots out heavy smoke in less than two seconds; can obscure a medium sized room in four) and burst into the place, shooting at anything that seemed to hold a weapon.

By now, more Islandians were inbound, regular Marines from a Spearhead landing division with amphibious APCs and hovercraft from the neighboring islands, where they had holed up, awaiting the execute signal.

******
Forces involved:
light company of Marine Spearhead, northern shore, to prevent escape from the beaches.

Thirty Border Police scattered throughout the compound

Twenty Sea Dragons (navy Special Forces) advancing towards the jungle perimeter from the South; another ten holding positions off the docks, awaiting escapes.

Thirty Pathet Cong Rangers, moving in from the East.

"LRR frigate, LRR frigate, this is Captain Ayukawa Yoshi of the First Swift Detachment," Captain Ayukawa announced over the intercom. "Welcome to the party, and we'd like a little help in freeing the slaves, if you dont mind. Sending coordinates to you right now; the landing zone's a bit rocky, but it should be fine."

The lead swift craft, a thirty meter catamaran, slowed as it beamed the coordinates. Two minutes later, it quickly sped up, leading its ten boat strong squadron and the frigates into the thick of the battle.

Missiles were armed, adn firing coordinates uploaded to the LRR computers, coordinates from ground spotters.

The pirates' window of opportunity grows ever smaller; unless they have jet aircraft to fly from a large grass field nearby, they may not get out at all....
******
"This is FUBAR," Sr. Colonel Vung shouted. "Where the fuck was the fighter support? ITw as supposed to be there ten minutes ago!"

"We have men down," another officer reported. "Requesting medevac and one Z8 for evac of the slaves; they're working on that one and they may have it soon."

"Get one of the Sliders on them," VUng ordered. SLiders were heavily armored Ka-60Ms; while slower, they were more powerful, and definitely more durable, due to the extra layers of spidersteel alloy woven onto their frame. Because of hteir slow speed, only now were several Sliders moving into position.

"LRR is supporting," another officer reported.

"When this is over, buy them enough beer and sushi for a lifetime," Vung ordered, grinning. "Now F**k those slavers up the ass! Now!"

********
Marines landed and began advancing, although their progress was hampered by thick brush. This operation was turning to be huge and somewhat haphazard, but whatever the case, the pirates were probably outgunned and had little chance of escape.

Unless they had fast boats or airplanes. Really fast ones. Come to think about it, the Islandian base could have been missing one or two of their fast transports.....
*********

"Careful!!" teh Captain yelled to his troops as they slid furniture into position inside the shack and pulled out what hostages they could. "The Illiorian politician's daughter is in there!"

Sachdev swore, and fired back at the attackers. One of htem were holding two girls, and she could make out their form through the rapidly diminishing smoke.

A trio of shots threw her partner back. Another officer grabbed the downed man and several children and pulled them out, shielding them with his own body.

*******
Admiral Jeon entered the sparkling white, stainless hallway of the Islandian frigate Sunset. he quickly made his way over to the Illiorian diplomats, and shook the hand of hte politician whose daughter was kidnapped.

"I'm Admiral Jeon, chief of Naval Special Operations," he said. "We are doign our utmost to get your daughter out, and we have raided the suspected base of the pirates."

Six Askari mercenaries fell out of the trees. The remaining four whistled a very human whistle, and Zhalfirin mercenaries popped out of covered entrenchments in front of and behind Shao's troops. Throughout the forest, hacking of limbs and crushing of bones could be heard as Dauthi mercenaries got the jump on the snipers with axes and thick metal pipes. One of the surviving Askari pulled out a wickedly curved knife and leapt down on Shao. "Surrender if you don't want to die like the snipers."

The Askari with the rockets were almost entirely whiped out, but the few survivors launched purple flares, signaling the smugglers of the attack. Soon, the base would be evacuated.

One of the Dauthi mercenaries in charge of guarding the compound grinned as the two men barged into the decoy shack. He pulled out a sniper rifle, aimed carefully at the C4 destuction-based detonator on the roof, and fired.

As the smuggler boat made its way to the base, the Islandian forces were clearly visible. The same could not be said, however, for the mercenary teams that had managed to swim up to the boat. They quickly climbed aboard. One of the Askari grabbed the captain by the throat and pinned him against a wall. "We are changing course to Muktar."

One of the slaver spotted the purple flares go up.
"Evac alert, evac alert! Pack up the slaves and hit the tunnels!"
The slavers knew their location was unsafe, so they put a good ammount of funding into escape tunnels that lead to an underwater dock in international waters, owned by Visira mercenaries. Muktar had proven an asset after that revolution of theirs. They'd abandon the base, blow the tunnels once they were clear, waste any Islandians who broke through, and escape via submarine to Muktar.

The Pathet Cong Rangers fired on the Dauthis who were attacking their comrades, the fight disintegrating into a melee as the well trained Islandians, mostly of SouthEast Asian descent, began to beat and pommel the enemy wiht the butts of their rifles and shoot whatever enemies they could.

the A129s, seeing their Naval comrades in a fix, simply opened up with chain guns.

Shao smiled sadly and unhooked his harness, although not putting down his weapon.

A loud explosion rocked the area as the four kg flashbang mounted onto his harness shook the ground. Ignoring the buzzing in his ears and the white blur in his eyes and acting on training, Shao whipped out his lucky coin, standard issue for all Islandian issue Special Forces, pressed the center, and jabbed the needle into the man's thigh. Smeared on it was a neurotoxin.

Although he sensed the man shifting his weight and plunging down, he managed to roll so that the knife only grazed the thick body armor he wore.

Thank the ancestors for Spidersilk he thought, seconds before he slammed his booted feet into the mans crotch and fired into him.

His dazed men managed to unleash fast action smoke grenades, tying up the area in a huge cloud of smoke as more reinforcements from the Pathet Cong Rangers moved in.

Now, as Marines approached and shells began to rain down on the pirates, the island became a bloody battle zone.

However, unnoticed by anyone, three troops manage to hustle out several kids, out of one of the purported shacks, into Sliders. The rest grab the tunnels and fill them with smoke, as air patrols blanket the entire island when more helicopters arrive and begin strafing.

which boat are you talking about? The swift boats? They're prettty far offshore, at least thirteen kilometers, and swimming up to them takes time, not to mention the least that, if their crew sees you through their IR sensors (which they will) then they'll rake the water with everything and anything, including huge encased sodium explosives, which detonate with a huge thuda nd are most definitely lethal to swimmers. Also, you have to get to the bridge, and then find the captain, and not get killed by the Marines aboard, who hate
1) slavers
2) failure.

Although the Rangers were fighting back against the Dauthi, the Dauthi had weapons designed for melee, as well as the advantage of suprise. Although a few shots were fired, Dauthi mercenaries are heavily armored and only one of them fell, and it was because the force of the bullet hitting his greave knocked him off balance.

Other Zhalfirin mercenaries, seeing explosions from their trenches, lept out and loaded their rifle grenades. A hailfire of explosives broke the canopy as the Zhalfirin assaulted the A129s.

The Askari yanked the coin out of his thigh, licked the needle, then threw it at Shao. He took a few steps back, then signaled the Zhalfirin to open fire. There are about twenty Zhalfirin, each with a varient of the UGW that has a serrated bayonet.

Scavanging ranged weapons from fallen allies and enemies alike, Dauthi patrols who weren't engaged with the rangers moved through the brush to hit the marines with a flank attack.

OOC: I was talking about the boat the recent batch of slaves are one, which includes Jenny, Emily, and Elena.

The mercenaries who swam through the blockade using booster rocket pods began adding fuel to the vessel, as well as engine improvements even as they made their way to the base in international waters. They'll meet up with the slavers, collect their pay, and get the hell out. If they refuse to pay, it's the mercenary's base. The slavers will be dead before they could say 'Thats final.'

OOC Questions and points of information

1) Try cutting thru spidersilk body armor, cause that's wut my men wear. And no, you cant suddenly start producing htem, because only I have the patent.

2) How do you use rifle grenades on helicopters?

3) The needle is deadly. And i had helos fire on ur men who surrounded mine, so how are they up and out? That, and a four kg flashbang takes out a lot of ppl...the most they can do is stumble around and unhook various things in little motions, not fire or fight with coordination.

4) If your mercenaries are so heavily armored, they are probably a lot slower.

5) I say we stop it with the variables. Maybe it was my fault to not mentione this in the first place, but we have to stop introducing new variables, like guys who are venom resistant.. ARe your slavers human anyway?

6) Be realistic; how do you modify a boat on the run?

7) Just how many mercenaries do you have? You cant have them keep popping out of nowhere, even if it is your island. State your forces and keep them at that, like I did.
*********

Shao and his men, taking advantage of the flashbang, crawled as fast as they could into the rocks ast he A129s kept up their fire at the mercenaries. Stunned and dazed, they were evacuated by a Z8, their misison of distracting and drawing off mercenary forces to the front accomplished.

Meanwhile, the Border Police troops, embroiled ina firefight, slid aboard sliders and called for more smoke screens to be laid. Their airsupport obliged, throwing up huge clouds of yellow smoke as they pulled the children that they had to safety.

From the decks of the Lafayettes, three Mi-35s start up, and take off from the helipads. They soon find the combat zone, and begin firing on the Mercenaries. They swoop down low to drop off their 7 marines each, armed with RPGs, AN-94s, and other infantry assault weapons.

Meanwhile, the Black Watch prepares to land.

The CB-90s stowed aboard the frigates are lowered into the water, and out of the fog, a much more fearsome sight appears. The LRRNS Layla, a rotterdam class Landing ship, and an accompanying Sovremenny class destroyer make their appearance. Out of the Rotterdam, a gaggle of LCVPs issue forth towards the coast.

With a heavy scottish accent, the Master Sargent in command of one of the Black Watch squads yells to his men as their CB-90 nears the shore. The fully armored troop compartment protects them from small arms as the boat's gunner fires back with a .50 cal twin mount.

"Olright, men! Prepare for landing!"

A loud 'AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!' comes out of the troop compartment as the 20 black watch troopers burst out of their CB-90s, accompanied by the Black Watchmen of the other six assault boats. The mercenaries make a swift fighting retreat for the tunnels. Most get through, but some of the Dauthi are caught when the slavers who hired them blow the tunnels. They then begin their trek, along with their captives, to the mercenary's underwater base.

The mercenaries on the boat make their hasty retreat. Realizing how many enemies the slavers had made, one of the Dauthi on board threw the captain overboard. One of the slavers went to help him, and was shoved off by an Askari. Soon there were no slavers left on board.
"So, what do we do now?"
"Visira is the nearest to the mouth of the Muktar River. We'll drop the captives off there. Those with families will be sent home, those without can choose what to do."
"Can we... have some fun with the females?"
The Zhalfirin who asked the last question found himself with the slavers who were thrown overboard.

OOC: After those last couple of posts, there are about fifteen of each mercenary in the tunnels, including those who didn't see action yet. The boat has seven Askari, four Zhalfirin, and a pair of Dauthi. Spidersilk may be hard to cut, but Dauthi aim for the weak spots, like the face or points of mobility. The Zhalfirin were underground when you set off the flashbomb, and the Askari who jumped the commander was just guessing. Yes, they are human, just very... passionate with their work. "Roger Illior Command," Captain Ayukawa replied. "They seem to be throwing off some of their men, though. Hold your fire; we have hostages aboard, but make sure you can descend on them when they stop. I'm calling in additional naval assets from nearby forces."

Soon, several helicopters and more swift boats descended on them. The new arrivals were hydrofoils, fast ones armed to the teeth and sporting various restraint gear.

Several of the helos stopped to pick up ppl fromt he water.

"Tell them to surrender," Ayukawa ordered his men. "If they release the slaves now, we'll cut a deal with them."

"But sir-"

"Do it," Ayukawa ordered his subordinate, a young Second Lt. by the name of Einmann. "We're inbound for the major traffic soon, and we cant have a wild chase through the shipping lanes like this."

THe Islandians hit the fleeing mercenaries' radios with a tight band transmission, telling them that if they were to give up, no one would be harmed, and that they would find further employ with the Islandian government. After all, they were mercenaries, not slavers, werent they?

********
Shao sighed. He had lost several men today, and that certainly was not going to be good when he wrote the casualty letters. He sighed and shook his head as the Islandians mopped up, capturing whatever mercenaries were left.

He offered some of them cigarettes. "Where are you from, anyway?" he asked, sitting down by several prisoners, under heavy guard.

The rest of the Marines swept through the island quickly, leaving no hole overturned as their unit scavenged under every rock, bit of grass, and burrow to find the mercenaries and take them-dead or alive, but preferably alive.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Qiao contacts the Muktar government, after recieving information from intelligence officers that many of hte mercenaries are of Muktar descent.

"Roger that."

The Lafayettes turn to chase the mercenary boats, knowing that their 35 knot top speed was not enough to catch them. However, the CB-90s were easily capable of matching the mercenary's speed. They are directed by Mi-35s overhead, and they chase the mercenaries.

One of the Mi-35s closes with the fast boat. The foreward gun swivels from side to side as the helicopter swings back and forth, in an effort to evade any mercenary gunfire. The 7 marines carried by the helicopter lean out of the side doors with their AN-94s and SA-82s, ready to engage the mercenaries.

"How close are we to HQ?"
"See that island?"
"Yeah."
"Go for the crack in the cliff. Full speed."
"Yessir."
"And see what you can do about our pursuers."
As if responding to the lead Askari's orders, a Zhalfirin and a Dauthi each pick up an MRL and fire it at the nearest pursuing vessel.
"Sir, we're recieving a transmission. It's pretty garbled."
"Ignore it."

OOC: This is assuming you mean mercenaries taken prisoner.
IC: One of the Dauthi looked up at Shao. "I'm from Dauth. It's a city in Muktar. Why do you give a f***?"

"Muktar Mercenary Employment Storefront. Looking for recruits? Uh huh. Uh huh. Slavers? Really? They said they were merchants. Are you sure they were slavers? We'll let them know. Goodbye."

One of the pursuing CB-90s is sprayed with auromatic gunfire. The gunner fires back with his twin .50 caliber machine guns, sweeping across the boat's deck. Many of the other six CB-90s chasing the mercenaries do the same. One is nearly hit with a rocket, and knocked off course.

Shao smiled, and slammed his boot into the man's face.

"Ungrateful fuck," he said.

"That they are, sir," one of the Border Policeman guarding them said. "We were going to tell you, but-"

"Yea, it's okay," he said. He made as if to walk away but quickly came back and kicked the man again and again.

"Those fucks dont appreciate conversation," another man said. "Or any form of persuasion except money or the recieving end of a gun. We'll just torch them when we get back."

"Yea," Shao agreed, wiping blood from an unattended cut on his face. "Just like those f**king West Islandians."

*******
"Back them up!" a Border Guard shouted from his position in the helo. He leaned as far out as his Spidersilk tether would allow him to, and fired several rounds into the engines of the boats.

"Slavers," the pilot mumbled. "Should I use the chain gun?"

"Hit it up," the flight commander ordered. "But aim for the engines!"

"Yokai," the pilot replied, and fired.

Two more pursuing helicopters were in front of the fleeing mercenaries and one of them flew above the cliff, dropping a large spidersilk net in front of them and firing smoke grenades into the open boats.

A pair of Askari are blown of the boat by the guns, but the boat manages to make it into the cliff.
"Cut the engines."
The engines die, and the boat coasts through the narrow ravine. A turn slowly makes it neccesary to turn on the engines. Instead, a Dauthi gets out his machete and slices off one of the guard rails. He then lifts it up with the help of a rather beefy Askari andthrust it at an angle in front of the boat, stopping it. Suddenly, gears can be heard, and the boat slowly begins to go down. The boat was above an elevator into the mercenary's subterranean base.
The platform the boat was on tilts, and the boat slides off into a reception area. Medical crews and armed Zhalfirin security run up to tend to the wounded and escort the captives off the boat. The Hell Jumper puts up a fight, but a passing Dauthi knocks him out while some Zhalfirin struggle to pin him.
"Attention captives. The slavers will be arriving shortly, and recent events will effect transactions. rest assured, you will not be harmed."
The elevator sealed up again, hiding the base.

OOC: To avoid controversy later, the water in the cliff crevice was shallow enough so the elevator doesn't flood the complex.

The Guardia Costiera Auxillary Flotilla glided swiftly through the water, their catamarans moving at fullspeed.

Ammiraglio di Squadra (Vice Admiral) Bartolomeo Ciano, recently rotated out of a Marina Militare Combat Pursuit Group, heard the radio chatter and immediately changed heading toward the embattled islands.

"Sottocapo (Petty Officer 3rd Class) Luciano, get me in contact with the Islandian authorities at once, let us extend our fin."

"Aye-aye, sir", responded the young sailor.

East Islandia Authorities OS, East Islandian Navy OS, currently engaged in combat, this is the Agrigentian Coast Guard, what is your situation? I repeat, this is the Agrigentian Coast Guard, can we be of assistance? Over

"We'd appreciate it if you guys surround the island," Captain Ayukawa replied as his swift craft surrounded the nearby island and he called in more naval forces. "We gotta wait until the heavy artillery gets on scene."

One of teh pursuing helos stops to pick up any LRR troops that have fallen into the water.

Meanwhile, officers aboard the AWACS began to coordinate with teh Agrigentians, the Illiorians, and the LRR military.

"How can we get in?" the senior commander asked.

In the meantime, submarines from a nearby base were called into the deeper waters offshore, and aircraft began a constant vigil, hoping to hem in any escape craft and seal off the place.

"Hostiles are surrounding the island, sir. We got boats, and aircraft, artillary, and submarines are incoming."
"Load the submarines. Get the slaver's captives out of here. Bring all our forces too."
"Who will defend the base when the enemies come in."
"They want the slavers and the captives. We can release the captives upon arrival at Muktar, and the attackers will have the slavers."
"The slavers won't stand for this."
"No, they won't. They'll sit down, tied together."
"Yessir."
A brief skirmish insued, but the heavily armored Dauthi quickly subdued the unarmed slavers and bound them to support beams. Then, the mercenaries proceeded to evacuate the base, leaving nobody save the slavers, and leaving no transportable supplies save the ropes that kept the slavers bound. They left in five submarines, each carrying captives.

The Fleet began to maneuver radically and began a typical Sanzini Patrol Pattern, effectively locking down their portion of the rocky coast.

Meanwhile through the usual methods the Vice Admiral had gotten in contact with SANCOM and the Admiralty, and after a breif period of debate, a larger militarized force was allocated for this mission.

Soon the fourth pursuit group and its companion submarine force was en-route across the gentle seas that seperated Agrigento from its neighbor, East Islandia.

The 4th Pursuit Group:
1 WC Arsenal Ship
1 AEGIS Fleet Guardian Arsenal Ship
6 Delfino class Catamaran Destroyers
3 Animoso class Destroyers
7 Orizzonte class AAW frigates
14 Nike class Catamaran Corvettes
2 Andrea Doria (NUM) Class Aircraft Carriers

The 13th Submarine Force:
19 SSN-21 Seawolf class submarines
9 SSN-688 Los Angeles class submarines
5 SSGN-726 Ohio class submarines
